WARNING: Massive Wave of False RMT Bans going out in RBGs

This is not good if true.

Discuss with GMs.

:surfing_woman: :surfing_man:

Who would’ve thought? Bobby gets real mad when you cut into his 200mil bonus check. Hence the bans for RMT.

I wouldn’t doubt that people would try mass reporting to snipe out their competitors but at the same time there could be the possibility that both of these things could be true. That RMTs were being made and competitors are trying to snipe out their competition.

I’ve seen Blizzard investigate mass report abuse for much smaller offenses so I’d think they would investigate for something this serious.

Imagine in-game gold being such a high value commodity that competitors will mass report their rivals to gain a higher share of the market. (hint, it’s not about in-game gold)

It kind of reminds me of a cop drama where a rival gang was feeding information on the down low to the cops in order to get members from a competitor gang arrested and sent to jail.

So assuming it takes hundreds, if not thousands of reports (as Kasper says in the video) why isn’t Blizzard investigating how those reports were generated? You’re telling me 8000 (hell, I’ll even say 2000) individual people know, beyond a reasonable effing doubt, that RMT is being done? Doubtful. They’re botting.

https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=zZq5QUlW3zQ - here’s a video Kasper filmed 3 years ago of a game master saying that you cannot boost for gold, simply because CR cannot be placed in a trade window; and therefore it is an unsupported transaction. He quickly back peddles his statement after being forced to confer with superior GM’s, and a “debate” takes place. Are we really supposed to believe that these kinds of people are able to do a thorough review of any kind of investigation?

GMs were/are notoriously underpaid and overworked in years past, and in Classic’s case, all but absent in most cases. It doesn’t surprise me that Kasper mentions his doubts that the reports and volume of reports needed/time frames are suspect in how much they were truly investigated.

If this blows up on Reddit, i’m sure we’ll see better updates vs. the drought of real information passed through these forums. Speaking of, I couldn’t find a Reddit thread on this, so if someone spots it, please do link it here. I’d wanna follow along.

If we only knew how other companies dealt with this kind of thing

I don’t agree with gold boosting, but I don’t blame the booster, I blame Blizzard. They have created these systems and obviously they’re profitable for both Blizzard & the player, so a smart player would take advantage of this.

So not only do we have a broken system that allows for boosting, promotes it even, we have a second broken system within the reporting feature.

What Devs are there left at Blizzard? People are still working on this game? I’m honestly curious.

Ima need more popcorn for this thread

Here’s his Reddit thread from yesterday – this is the second attempt at shaping the narrative after he didn’t get the reaction he wanted.

Hey thanks for this link. Interesting read.

Thanks for bringing it to our attention, skimming thru it now

Looks like he’s getting destroyed down in the comments, not really surprising though

Thankfully, I will no longer be in any of that lol now they eat their own .

as someone in this clip i would like to say that it was taken out of context and none of actually even reported him we were just bantering because he has openly bad mouthed our players as well we never reported him and would advocate against the abuse of the report system
