I remember when Metamorphosis got a… I think it was a glyph (back when glyphs had a separate tab) that made it where it wasn’t full body, just wings and such. I know at least one or two warlocks I’ve roleplayed with over the years who miss that setup, and I confess I sorta miss it too. This guy here, I RP as having been an acolyte of the old Shadow Council (Gul’dan and Company) during the First and Second Wars, with the red eyes and all that stuff. I wouldn’t mind having a bit of cosmetics to show off the demon within - I mean, I’m already green, and my outfit burns with felfire (as do my mounts, the fel-wolf from Hellfire Citadel and the fel-birdie from mount collecting), but…
I do feel we kinda got jipped when demon hunters came around. They took our cool stuff and gave it to them because Illidan had it first in WC3? Bah, I say.
Then how come my Void Elf mage can’t mog Warlock Class Hall armor hmm? Its just armor as you said, nothing class specific about it. My mage should be able to wear it.
Statement: Then explain to me why demon hunters having their demon bits out in the open is ok. Or why death knights and their undead companions being out and about is ok. According to your reasoning these classes should also not have any options to embrace what they are.
Statement: very well, give me a lore reason why a priest would walk around with demon horns. Or a lore reason why demonic spikes would be used by a mage. These are classic feature of fine fel and warlocks, even to NPCs. Just one look at any of the warlocks we have fought over the years would give that away.
Continued statement: Another example of warlocks being accepted, or at least the player, is WoD where a known warlock is made the factions commander. And if is known as there are NPCs who comment on how powerful a warlock you are. Plus there are various warlock who come under your command and are accepted by your faction.
Conclusion: I am not sure why you are against options here, plenty of proof has been given to show how it can and should work. Especially for the player who at this point is an exception to a lot of things as we are the world’s champion despite being a known warlock.
And as for the “nobody knows you’re a warlock”, etc. - bull-crap, I say. If death knights and demon hunters can walk around in public without getting pelted by rotten fruit or pursued by lynch mobs, warlocks are just fine. Warlocks can be known in public. Take Tirion Fordring, for example: He called upon a warlock back in Wrath of the Lich King to summon a demon for champions to fight in his tournament.
I will repeat that, because it sounds vaguely important. Tirion Fordring, a paladin, a holy crusader preparing for war against the Scourge, allowed a warlock to come to his tournament to summon a frigging demon. In public. In front of the High King of the Alliance AND the Warchief of the Horde.
Just because the warlock covens still meet in underground caves and tavern basements doesn’t mean they don’t walk around in public as warlocks.
As someone that roleplays a warlock, I would kill for a warlock demon form, especially if it look different dependent on your character’s race. I agree if it were implemented it should be cosmetic; It would be awesome.
Statement: If you wish I can look up the dialogue where you being a known warlock is commented on in wod, I can also find all the npcs who known warlocks and post them. Sadly due to using this new character I cannot post links though.
Hey I have a fantastic idea, since I do have a toon on your server ED that i have yet to move to WRA with bout 3mil in gold.
I will gift you all of it if you can cite all lore and dev comments that states Warlocks cannot in anyway shape or form have access to any type of glyph, toy, or item (quest or other, this includes mogging) that can alter their cosmetic appearance.
