Again, I lived through everything you’ve said.
Burn-scarred face doesn’t mean “face eternally on green fire”.
That explains her black hands (MoP Warlock Sha Gloves), but not her green face.
Again, I lived through that lol

That could also be. Pick the face with green eyes and either red fur if you’ll be a red fire Warlock or black fur if you’ll be a Green Fire Warlock and you should be golden
Statement: I’d like to modify and add to the suggestion you propose.
Early clarification: I am not against your idea, and I like it alot. I just have further suggestion.
Suggestion: rather than, or as well as the glyph rather, why not give every class special customization relating to your class?
Example: let’s continue with warlocks. Why not add to the character creation screen things like: red/green/purple skin, gel fire cracked skin, felfire heads, etc… This way if someone does not want to lose the identity of their character to a demon form but they can still be mutated.
Continued example: we can apply this to other classes as well like Halos for priests or even tentacles for shadow priests. Paladin auras could have a visible aura to it relating to that aura. I’m sure there are many others but my brain is malfunctioning at the moment.
Conclusion: I like your idea, and believe it could be expanded on into the character creation system much like DKs and Demon hunters.
That would be cool, and awesome, and it would benefit all classes and I’m all for it.
But sadly I don’t think it’s realistic to expect the devs to put this much work on Class specific customization for all Classes on all Races
Here, since at first I replied to your title.
Game shows it quite well enough.
The one thing you, and so many others don’t, is that a warlock is a secret. They do NOT want to be showing to others they are one. Why do you think they all have a hidden class trainer spot? Always in a corner, hidden.
Technically, no warlock should or WOULD walk around in the city with any demon companion or any signs of fel magic. It is hated, frown and people don’t trust it. Doing so would get you expelled from the city.
As a player we are affliated with the horde / alliance and thus will never get to show it openly, secrecy will always remain.
Those examples are members outside those bounds who cares not about society.
Statement: Perhapse not all at once, but starting with warlocks would be a good place. You need a bone thrown to you seeing as your class is the first one to get gutted half the time.
Clarification: I did not mean to imply each race would get unique customization. My suggestion would more over all than race by race. But I do agree, it is a lot to expect at once hence my above comments.
Statement: is it though? We brought in warlocks during wotlk to summon demons for our tournament. And after fighting along side them in legion opinions could have changed making them less shamed.
Statement: This depends on the society. Forsaken seem to encourage it, the orcs seem to be ok with it as long as it is kept under control (this is post mop). Gnomish warlocks seem like they are everywhere and nobody cares. The dark iron seem to have no issues with it nor do the void elves.
Well, next time you want to post without reading just post this gif instead lol
No, it isn’t. Not anymore.
Warlocks have benefited and saved the world enough times to be off the hook.
Varian had a Warlock with a Felguard with him on the War Crimes novel. Varian. The King of the Alliance. The faction that was less accepting of Warlocks lol
No.
Theres a huge diff of situation, ranks and purpose of that. They still do not roam freely in the city openly showing they are warlocks.
They literally added an NPC to both Dalarans that is just a Warlock roaming freely in the city for the sole purpose of populating the city with roaming NPCs.
Are they openly showing fel magic, big demons around and etc?
Answer no, while still warlock they dont display it. You also need to take in concideration… Dalaran isnt org / sw / tb or anything like that… its a mage city that was moved to go to “war”.
That’s like asking if Nuclear engineers bring radioactive uranium wherever they go. Violetta is clearly a Warlock for all to see, roaming around freely throughout the city.
And so is Felcaster Virim.
But either way, a Cosmetic Shapeshifting form as I suggest in the OP could simply be turned off if you wanna keep it a secret. Like Shadowform.
Again they dont openly show it… we say they are warlock because we know those armor sets are tied to one…
But they are still not openly showing it.
This is a great idea Mortis.
Again, even if you were right (you’re not) a cosmetic shapeshifting form could be turned off in the cities to “keep this precious secret” lol
Query: what other staff weilding casting class walks around with demonic horns (see mortis’first picture of the woman), demonic spikes and skulls (see mortis’s second picture with the belf)?
Statement: Sure they are not running around screaming in your ear “HI IM A WARLOCK!!” But they are not actively hiding it. On top of that all of your arguments could be used for deathknights as well, and they are openly accepted at this point in time. Just look at the new intro for them where they show up in stormwimd or org and nobody blinks an eye.
Continued statement: you seem to be trapped in the pre-mop mindset of a warlock. If you would like to continue hiding yours, feel free. But there is nothing wrong with options for those who want to embrace it.
Cause cosmetics toggle options are extremely OP right?
A kid walking in school with a black t shirt is clearly a gothic style one ! Is basically what you are saying. Those thing arent screaming warlock at all, they do to us only because we have associated those armor look to warlock tier ones… They arent warlock lore specific armor… they are just armor
He is adorable! So fluffy with purple socks!
Hide your addiction to Fel Magic with this one easy trick!
“Bro do you see any demons around? I’m just an edgy mage.”
