You can already play WoW with an xbox controller and I’ve been enjoying using the controller for a few months now. There’s an addon called ConsolePort and you can bind all your spells, pretty much feels the same as playing on Xbox. I actually bought a gaming laptop for this so I could relax and lay on the couch or in bed and play on the big screens.

Why when the current XBox and PS5 can have both keyboard and mouse attasched to them .
The console would be more like a PC containing the CPU , gpu , memory and storage drive.
Heck a Xbox series X is comparable with a pc with a Ryzen7 3700X , RTX 2070 /Radeon RX 6800 and a 1 TB NVME SSD.
Hook up a keyboard and mouse and it is better then some computers that can already play WoW and since most games even console now a days are digital down loads , addons could be even added that way since all online gaming even consols have to connected to the internet for that.

There would be basically no add ons.
I don’t see any MMOrppgs let alone wow ,on game pass, is it only exclusive to consoles??
That is still not going to make them less toxic 
Tell me why they couldn’t when Xbox has a way to look for your addons for the games they currently have?
Todays consoles are nothing like the ones from the past and games are not like they are before . So are you honestly going to say with todays tech there is no way for it to happen ?
Now don’t get me wrong I prefer PC but I believe this is highly possible and my gaming goes back as far as Pong .

XBox wont allow people to change game files willy nilly.
I am not talking about from a functionality stand point. Thats irrelevant.
Microsoft, Sony, etc. They have things locked down when it comes to game files.
IDK, FF has been around for over a decade and the original online version (FFXI) was on consoles if I recollect correctly.
The development team can barely keep the existing codebase running on a single major platform. The second supported platform (Apple Silicon MacOS) is a complete afterthought, still alive mostly because of automatic code translation, and suffers from all of the standard platform’s bugs plus new MacOS-specific ones.
In what fantasy world does Blizzard have the talent, time, or money to try to port WoW’s untamable pot of spaghetti code to an entirely new hardware platform, app store environment, operating system, and UI?

Does it matter? Not to me. The thrust of the topic is if Warcraft came to xbox would you play it on a controller. I don’t really care at this point what you or other forum users think if you’re just focusing on that part of what I said. It’s not like its a far out idea, and it’s been speculated on for years.

is that still a thing? everyone i know who games on a console either owns multiple consoles or just buys the one that has the features or games they prefer. i haven’t run into anybody who’s mad about xbox vs playstation in like a decade.
nor have i run into any console gamers who care about what people with pcs are doing.
the only tribalism i see in 2025 is pc gamers mad that consoles exist and some people even prefer them

I would not and I would want the option to opt out of playing with people on console.
