Please reconsider this change to Burden of Power. From a consistency point of view, it makes no sense to say Nether Precision can double dip, but Burden cannot. This change fundamentally breaks much of the theory crafting and learning that people have been investing hours and hours into.
Consider shifting some of the power from the kit elsewhere. Lower the bonus damage from Burden and make it so we’re incentivized to actually finish a complete channel of CC AM. The one lingering bit of weirdness in Arcane’s kit could be addressed and you can still lower the damage overall to keep it balanced with other classes.

I don’t mind you nerfing arcane because it was high but the way you nerfed it is really messing up our rotation. Spell queuing arcane blast into barrage on burden made the rotation much smoother. As it is now if we want to get a buffed burden with barrage we will be at a zero stack glorious incandescence having to build up or just use it on zero stack (not sure of the math but it probably will be used on zero stack after cds since arcane soul will be coming). The spec is literally less smooth because of this change and unnecessarily complicates things. This does not seem very well thought out.

Please don’t change Burden of Power double dipping. Nerf the damage elsewhere but don’t change the rotational aspect of arcane as it’s the best it has felt in years

Revert the mage Burden of Power changes and half the damage Arcane Blast and Arcane Barrage gain from the buff. Same result. Double dipping is fun.

Blizzard please. Do you notice something out of the ordinary? Almost all of your changes are good except for one that is an outlier. ARCANE spell-queuing. This needs to be reverted, NOW!.. for the sanity of the player base. We want to have fun. We want to enjoy playing this game. Give us an aura nerf, please. I’ve been expecting it. I had hope you learned your lesson the first time. Please consider listening to us again. Keep listening for the entire game, it has been working. This has been the best expansion so far, in a long time. Please hear us! We want it to continue. Stop with the L’s and continue with the W’s.

Ele shamans catching a nerf because of Heroic dungeons is just chef’s kiss. Meanwhile I’ll save everyone the time and tell you how this plays out. They will be lower middle of the pack, at best, until season two. If we do get a buff it will be to Earthquake damage and some small amount to Lava burst, which will basically do nothing.

Double Dipping for Arcane improves the overall fun people have with playing sunfury. Please consider just doing an aura nerf to bring it within more balance of the other specs but dont hit the rotation itself.

Why change how Arcane is playing right now? Should’ve just changed the values of certain abilities. Makes zero sense. Cool nerf us, yeah we did a lot of damage, but change how the spec plays entirely just doesn’t make sense at all.

I don’t think any mages are looking for Sunfury Arcane to not catch a nerf, but please leave the gameplay alone and revert the intended Burden of Power, and Arcane Soul nerfs. Both lead to reduced gameplay instead of the (presumed) intended effect of simply tuning Arcane numbers down.

Blizzard just hates frost DK, they made a point of making it worse than it’s counter part (Unholy) since WOTLK, if it didn’t feel like a wet noodle outside of CD’s especially in single target scenarios can’t wait to see it now lol.

Blizzard you need to revisit this. It is inconsistent to let us double dip on nether precision but not allow it on Burden of Power. It has a big impact & makes the rotation feel unintuitive and clunky. By all means tune the damage, but please reconsider this like you did with the change to nether precision a few weeks ago that you reverted. Double dipping allows skill expression and makes the rotation smooth and fun.

I’ll add to the voices here - please do not go live with the Arcane changes. We all know the spec is overtuned, but changing the rotation is not the way to go. I think most of us would be fine with lowering the effective numbers, but not making us relearn the spec just for it to be way more clunky.

how about FIRST fixing the game???

Arcane was ahead numerically and needed a nerf, and we expected it. But removing the burden of power double dip is inconsistent with Blizzard’s recent listening to the playerbase and reverting the NP double dip feature. This Burden of Power change makes the rotation clunky, hard to understand, bad for new players, unsmooth, inconsistent, less fun, and less skill expressive.
Please consider listening to your players again and taking your L’s and turning them in W’s.
Do you guys understand how fire works? You buffed a talent by 30% baseline that’s not played at all anymore because you destroyed it. This 30% doesn’t make it 30% better. That’s now how the math works. That isn’t enough to fix the spell. You designed this tree to have all these talent points to invest into and don’t even make them viable to choose. Do you even run simulations to see how your changes effect the result? Do you even computer science bro? Fire is still unplayable. This is a huge let down not just to Mages who were expecting attention given, but to all of the passionate WoW community who take this as evidence that blizzard tuners aren’t created equal and do not know what they are doing half the time. This Expansion will make or break, it will keep the casual players subscriptions based on BALANCE. Not consistent intentional neutering and then repeated slaps in the face in the forms of “buffs.” The average joe might even see this 30% buff and think. Okay! YAY. and then go to play and realize how bad they suck, even though they don’t really suck that bad at all and instead its Blizzard’s fault. They thought they were a dps spec, but they’re getting out damaged by tanks.
Also let’s get to the bone-chilling news about frost.
You have this ability called Ice Lance. Yes just faceroll your spells and press that button. That’s how you play. Really? What happened to the modern development of character through time. These specs should be getting better, not worse.q
Please, read these posts of feedback, take a deep breathe, get a good nights rest, then come back at it tomorrow and fix this game. Listen to us, and revert the burden of power double dip restriction. Learn to understand Fire from people who know fire. It’s okay to ask around too. And then consider reworking Frost Mage in season 2. Thank you for all the hard work you’ve done making this expansion so popular and well done thus far. It’s time to continue winning and let it live up to the hype.

The chorus on the Arcane changes is loud enough already, but I’ll add my displeasure nonetheless. First, it’s not clear enough how you’ll implement this change. It’s impossible to finalize an APL without play testing this, unless you clarify. For example, will a spell queued barrage now also not benefit from a GI that cannot proc until the AB consumes the BoP? That depends on how you break spell queuing here, and it likely has wildly different impacts on the rotation.
Second, as others have ably said, if the goal is to nerf Arcane damage, and not put Arcane rotation at risk, this can be achieved in myriad easier ways. At this stage, I have a hard time understanding why you’d take this approach when you can just tune the numbers, preserving (largely) the hard work and rotation practice that has already taken place. The goal cannot be fix spell queuing at large, since many other specs benefit from it still—even Arcane in a different context. So the goal is either nerf damage, or introduce chaos to the rotation. Assuming, reasonably, it’s the former, you should do this without risking the latter. Lower the BoP bonus damage, for example.

Nerf numbers, don’t nerf playstyles. Save Arcane Mage

Please revert burden of power of power double dipping change. Tune something else in the kit; dont change the whole gameplay. How much of a nerf is this even? We dont even know how to the spec plays now. You tried to change nether precision double dipping a few weeks ago in the beta, but left burden of power able to be double dipped. That change was reverted (due immense disdain from the mage community). Now you are making burden of power unable to be double dipped, but leaving nether precision… this is very unintuitive. Many other spells in the game can be double dipped; just let us have fun with this. The gameplay with sunfury arcane was sooooooo good! PLEASE REVERT!!!

Conversation at blizzard a month ago:
Dev 1: There is a ton of backlash about this spell queuing change going through on NP…I know we really wanted to remove that interaction because we hate fun…but this might affect our sales numbers if we ignore our community.
Dev 2: Well why do they care so much about the spell que?
Dev 1: Apparently one of our hero talents, Burdon of Power, also lets them spell que and they were really happy about playing around maximizing queuing the affected spells together…said it was fun and rewarding or something.
Dev 2: Well fun…that isn’t allowed…but wait. I have an idea. What if we revert this change because they want it to sink up with BoP…and then wait till after full release and make the SAME CHANGE to BoP just to watch them lose their mind after they can’t refund the purchase?
But also…this is not even a big nerf…give us back our fun, and slap us with a bigger aura nerf and or nerf to mana cascade/sphere’s.
