War Within Class Tuning Incoming – September 3

Actually there’s a lot of first post toons posting here atm.

“* Burden of Power can no longer be double dipped by spell queueing.”

Tune the damage, and leave the gameplay the same and nobody would have a problem with this.

I feel like every month I have to relearn my class. This is getting old.

Please revert the change to Burden of Power. It creates the same issues as the change to Nether Precision that you guys tried to fix a month ago. This completely ruins the playstyle of the spec 1 week out from the release of raid which is absolutely ridiculous.

If you want to nerf the spec do it with a numbers nerfs don’t kneecap the entire playstyle of the spec.

It’s not ‘broken’ as much as it is a feature with arcane’s rotation (see the nether precision changes that were reverted), and provided a means to enable people to reach a higher skill ceiling with the spec while also allowing others to still engage with the class/spec and do fine enough damage with it that they’re not* unviable in any condition of content. I understand that people here are, in some examples, being genuinely toxic towards you with your take on things which isn’t good, but there are a lot of different ways that these changes are horrible examples of what to do to your playerbase and community that supports your game. Double dipping happens in more than just Burden of Power in arcane’s spec alone, and it happens in other classes across the rest of the game. Being upset that arcane is performing too well makes sense, but what doesn’t make sense is arguing for a poor change out of intellectual dishonesty, if that’s the place you’re coming from (which I hope you’re not).

What are you even trying to imply? Isn’t there a stronger case that this change is extra-awful if you have people coming out of the woodwork for the first time to post on forums? Are you trying to claim that these accounts are fake when they’re being posted from active players at level 80?

So what classes are looking good? I want to hear about other changes but it’s all mages.
How are rogues? Haven’t seen one post yet

It makes no sense. Why can Ele never even be strong?

I think people generally find overtuned specs to be enjoyable regardless of how they actually play.

Those terrible changes were enough to make me join the forum. I don’t see the problem here.

Seems like a lot of people then are first posting out of anger then.

It’s like 3 dozen first posters in this thread.

“Hey everyone I post on the forums a bunch and do not like seeing people that normally do not complain, complain about something that could crush their class. Aren’t I cool?!?!?” Go RP.

i don’t fully understand this so you guys know how much damage each class is capable of doing. why not take that data and just aura nerf said class by the % it is ahead. im a one of those people thats going to play what Evers best so i don’t care that much, but its weird to feel like any class could get hit with a game play change even if the community at large likes that game play when you could just turn the damage nob knowing how much it needs to be turned in the first place. this is not really a nerf mage issue its a where opening pandoras box for changes in the game issue.

Whats the point of giving living bomb a 30% increase after the literal demolishing of damage y’all did to it before?

There are probably less than 1% of mages taking the living bomb talents, EVEN AFTER this change goes live on Tuesday. This 30% bump does absolutely nothing to its viability and usability.

Bring living bomb back to the damage it was before you demolished it. Keep the % proc chance as it is now.

Fire in Single Target is still 30+% behind other specs even with this “buff”

Quite the reach.

Just haven’t seen this many first time posters all posting at the same time before.

Most normal people dont hang out on WoW forums; i came here to give feedback on a change. Yes i dont normally do that.

You’ve said this like, 5 times now. If you have nothing else to contribute, get out.

Proposed different Arcane changes that don’t change rotation and actually nerf us more than the current garbage which will still probably leave us at around or above 1.6M single target DPS after the new rotation is figured out.

  • Mana Cascade Haste increase reduced by 0.5% per stack for Arcane
  • Spell Sphere spell damage increase reduced by 1% per stack for Arcane
  • Lingering Embers spell damage increase reduced by 1% per stack for Arcane
  • Burden of Power increase to Arcane Blast reduced by 15%
  • Burden of Power increase to Arcane Barrage reduced by 15%
  • Arcane Phoenix damage dealt reduced by 20% for Arcane.
  • Meteorite damage dealt reduced by 20% for Arcane

That should bring us down almost exactly 1.5M DPS in single target while not effecting the rotation and not effecting spellslinger damage as well. If you want more of a nerf than this just reduce these values more or look at Arcane Bombardment/Savor the Moment.

Note if you buff Spellslinger by

  • Arcane Splinter damage increased by 30%
  • Splinter Storm damage increased by 20% for Arcane

it bring Spellslinger to 1.48M so its more inline with Sunfurry. You then just do flat spec damage decrease to get the DPS to what ever value you want it to be at internally.

How about you bring the crappy specs up to par with the good ones and not constantly trying to nerf all the good specs. Wouldnt it be so much more fun and allow more variety if all classes and specs were viable. Instead you see the same classes all running the same skils and spec. Makes for a really boring experience. Ps LEAVE THE DK ALONE FFS!!

Swapped to mage this expansion and finally figured out how to play Sunfury Arcane, super fun and rewarding if you get it right with the double dipping aspect. Having played various classes over the years, the skill expression inherent in your ability to pull off the arcane rotation is something different than I’ve experienced from other classes and specs. This proposed change is just purely anti-fun and also not in line with prior conversations regarding double dipping with nether precision. Making such a sweeping rotational change 2 weeks from Season 1 while the game is in a released state via effectively a hotfix is absolutely wild. This is a trust lost by the mage community situation.

Continuing on, this feels absolutely unnecessary. Arcane Soul at best is a way for the top players to min/max 1-2 globals of clearcasting procs and more commonly a buff that is over before you even realize you have it for us normies. again, an opportunity for skill expression that is now less fun and even achievable.

in general, Sunfury Arcane damage is probably too high, but this isn’t the way
