Want to see pathfinder complaints end?

This is it here. Even with rep tabards, you’d have that year between finishing pathfinder 1 and pathfinder 2 that would still suck.

And if canning pathfinder down to 1 part and no time-gate has people flying in the first few weeks or month, Blizzard could split the quest/story part out to faction-specific achieves so you unlock horde and alliance flying separately. And if they don’t want people cheesing the phase 2 zones with flying as soon as those launch, they could just drop another pathfinder on those. Pathfinder’s not all the evilness, just the massive timegate for no reason sucks.

Also think I’d like to see class and profession specific questlines and content to provide different experiences among alts. Because I think the other reason people are anxious for flying is to mitigate the fact their alts are slugging through exactly all the same content their mains just did, and would like a break from the slow-motion way of doing that. Class and profession specific quests might provide a little reprieve from having everyone spam the same WQs too. (Thinking of class questlines in legion, even with the overlaps here and there. Or my shaman, priest, warrior, hunter, paladin, and mage’s class and profession wanderings in classic.)

This is a stupid question from someone who’s never played Vanilla then nor Classic WoW now. Is there flying in Classic? I think the answer to that question will influence how flight is handled in the future.

It almost seems pike thats the third scenario I presented which wont make players any happier.

No, that’s not what you proposed. You’re stating something else which is what we have now.

Basically Player A wants a WoW experience in Arena exclusively but now has to do:

  1. Battlegrounds
  2. Raids
  3. Pet Battles
  4. World Quests
  5. Warfronts
  6. Island Expeditions

Etc, etc.

Obviously Player A isn’t getting what they want if some significant portion of their playtime is diverted to activities they didn’t sign up for.

What I’m saying is entirely the opposite. Player A would be allowed to do arena exclusively, if they desired and they wouldn’t miss out on rep and professions and mounts and all the other goodies other players are getting.

The two overarching themes here are basically this:

  1. Trim the extremes from all gameplay to fit everyone somewhere in the middle.
  2. Silo all forms of gameplay with their own deep progression systems which borrow heavily from one another in terms of rewards.

I don’t really care which way it goes I just know what they’re doing now isn’t working.

So essentially giving players an unlimited source of rep? Cause I may do all the M0 dungeons at the start and BGs in the same day. When I run out of dungeons I can move on to the next activity until its done. Then players will feel forced to do things they dont want to, especially part 2.

You would also have a rep cap so regardless, you’re not going to blow through rep progression in a day. Just like it is in retail now.

Whatever that sum of rep is today for 24 hour window of WQs, that’s the 24h cap.

Pretty sure theres also island quest items that give rep and contracts, so unless I am mistaken its not quite as capped as one thinks.

As somebody that didn’t play WoD or Legion, and only play after putting my son to bed at night… I can abundantly say you don’t speak for me. Grinding out 3 pathfinders back to back sucks hard.

Contracts give 10 rep. So factor in the number of WQs on that 24 hour window.

Island Expeditions giving rep is news to me. But then again I didn’t enjoy them all that much so barely did any.

Same here on islands, but I asked once if the island quest drops give rep and I was told that they do. Could be wrong, but I dunno.

LMAO I think you’re on the wrong faction, trolls aren’t supposed to be in the alliance!

A shame Caevan and his kind will never understand that.

Maybe not quit but I’d be a lot less vocal on the issue for sure.

So instead of coming up with making something bad more palatable better ask for removal. Pathfinder = no flying for me, not because of the long wait which I just would buy the xpac when it is available but due to the fact that I’m required to do repeatable WQs to get flying when they are better with flying. So no fly = no buy. Instead of $200-300 they get $15.

Totally agree, they could also cap the tabard/WQ rep after it reaches the WQ rep average available per week that you can get doing the emmisaries and WQs, so that the total potential rep is unchanged.

I also find it a bit odd that they let the mini-game of pet battles help with rep, but not dungeons.

It’s not the rep grind that people don’t like about pathfinder…it’s the time gating. If it was just grind all the reps to exalted we’d have been flying that 1st month because those who want it that bad would put the time in to do ALL the WQs and sources of rep.

It’s not just the rep. It’s the explicit timegating and not being able to fly for less than half an expansion. The game is so much better now that i can fly, it actually feels good.

You’re not speaking for someone like me who just despises the world quest gameplay.

I actually hate puzzle games and kill X of Y, do X of Y template gameplay. By comparison everything else is far more dynamic.

Agree, the time gating for me is OK compared to pathfinder rep requirements.

Yeah that’s what I’m saying. The time gate doesn’t bother me at all. I don’t care that it takes six months to grind reps to exalted. That is 100% fine.

What isn’t fine is forcing me and others like me to do parts of the game we find boring. As a paying customer I am not good with that.

Want to see WoW complaints on the forums or in-game end?

Well, you’ll have to imagine it because it’ll never happen.

The time gate i’m referring to is the *.2 model where it’s not available till .2, though i can accept that people may have issues with emissaries. I tend to do the most efficient ones in terms of time taken to complete. Many wqs are drawn out and tedious.

But to me now, i’m realizing as a paying customer that the game doesn’t even feel playable for less than half its lifespan. Because you always have to do the gated rep on .2 in addition to waiting till it releases.
