It would help yes, but they also need to end the year delay… so sick of waiting months to unlock my fun.
I mean, it would be nice not having to complete every single WQ to achive it but i think the main problem with PF is not the rep gating but the 1 year hard time gate
Not really. Its not the requirements that really bother me. Its waiting a year or so before they even allow you to do part two. There is no reason they cant let you do this by the X.1 patch. By then most people have see all the launch content.
Pathfinder exists, according to them, because they want you to have to see the world from the ground. After leveling a character the first time through the content… I have seen the world from the ground. No reason to make me wait 11+ months more.
I respect your opinion but know that many of us don’t agree with you. I think we’ve made it abundantly clear why.
I’ll thank you not to speak for me as to whether or not I want something.
You’re far too nice. I don’t respect his opinion because it is dumb. WQs are boring and aren’t immersive. This game was once an RPG, now it is a chore. The WQ objectives are barely related to the factions we are earning reps with.
I simply mean to say that some people like this stuff we consider to be boring, dull and dumb. I’m fine with WQs/Dailies existing. I am not fine with them being mandatory for rep gains. I wasn’t way back in MoP and nothing has changed since.
The World of Warcraft is large enough for both systems to exist without us trying to eliminate each other.
I don’t think world quests are a terrible system for reputation gains. I don’t think tabards are any better than World Quests.
Honestly, I’d rather have something of a mix between MOP’s Angler rep (collecting items and turning them in…think chests and caches in the zone containing rep items), Emissary caches, World Quests, and specific dungeons are associated with specific reps (think tabard, but only working in 1-2 instances).
Basically, spread the gains around more liberally and more immersively.
The only thing that would stop Pathfinder complaints would be for them to stop the year long obnoxious time gate between part 1 and part 2 when flight opens.
Until and unless they open flight with part 1 in the existing content, within a few months of the xpack launch, and only require a part 2 in new content to unlock flight there, they will have complaints, and a lot of them.
It’s the time gate that is most frequently complained about online.
I get what you are saying, and possibly what he is poorly attempting to get at.
The implementation is terrible. If we had good reasons to want to kill mobs in the world that would be nice. WQs just are disembodied heads in a “talking head frame” talking to us through the data packets because we triggered some function because our characters traversed some XY coordinate locality.
I mean, this dev team has gotten so lazy that they don’t even have us go to some npc to kill quillboars because they killed his wife. Those monsters! If Blizzard wants another Mankrik, they need to put in some effort into their world and the quests.
The solution is simple. Take all the available rep you can get today, in a 24 hour window. The 4 you get for emissary and the rest. Whatever that number is, is the new 24 hour cap.
That cap now works on all rep gains made whether a rep tabard or a world quest. So you can literally now do anything that earns XP, gold or honor.
Admittedly the rep tabard is a way to be absolutely certain they don’t ever again shoehorn some really garbage gameplay into our progression without us having a way to circumvent it. Think of it like an escape hatch. If one of them is really bad to do we can just do something else. If PvP sucks, Dungeons. If dungeons suck, PvP. That kind of switch is really needed.
If we give them the “creative freedom” to work in more immersive ways to get rep we wind up back in this World Quest scenario with another contrived puzzle game to earn flying. I’m over that.
Yeah, and new complaints would arise. Many of us enjoy pathfinder, it’s time you get used to it, it’s not going anywhere.
What specifically do you enjoy about pathfinder?
Is it the un-immersive WQs?
The long rep grinds?
The annoyingly long time gate that is arbitrary?
The mandatory nature of having to log in on days you don’t raid just to see if the rep you need is offering WQs.
I mean, it can’t really be the “gold” argument. We make the amount of gold through WQs and vendored gear rewards a dozen times over while going for PF.
People don’t like it, and telling us to shut up isn’t going to benefit you or us. We’ll complain if that is what suits us.
Just because you have a broken idea of fun doesn’t mean that everyone else who disagrees needs to just lie down and accept it.
Paragon cash alone would be motivation to spam as many mob filled dungeons as possible.
Sounds like fun. Right now heroics and even low level keystones are pointless.
Bring back reputation tabards players can grind it out on their terms thru current dungeons with pugs
Most of the complaining threads would stop almost overnight
nah…we’d still complain. PF was a joke solution to a ‘problem’ that didnt need fixed to begin with.
They need to leave PF for those who want to grind out for flight ‘once for all’ and allow those of us who dont want to run that exact gauntlet to buy flight for gold per character at max level on whatever date pathfinder opens flight up.
The “problem” with tabards is that with them people could grind to exalted in just a couple weeks thus negating 95% of Blizz’s content progression since for some God forsaken reason that’s a thing now.
Or just put the word “Pathfinder” on the language filter.
I don’t think you got it, there’d be no point in actually doing BfA quests. Which is why in further discussion to that response we proposed restrictions.
How about a Chromie tabard where we can fast forward 9 or 11 maybe 13 months in the next if they keep following this awful flygating trend.
Reputation is so much easier to get these days.
