Hey, I know it’s frustrating as I have said, but this really is a tough one to fix.

This sort of stuff makes me not want to play the game. Especially when the game is already a huge timesink.

A solution I thought of: what if people are only allowed to join a vote kick once per day? Or a similar timeframe, like 12 hours?
It’ll make them think if kicking you is worth it or not, instead of kicking out of habit whenever they don’t like something.

That wouldn’t solve anything. Because say you get into two groups with jerks that need to be kicked? There are folks who run multiple dungeons a day.

There’s no clear way to measure what counts as abuse or not as i’m sure the people of the dungeon would strongly disagree with being accused of abusing it.

I like the idea of a contribution chart for islands though. Though that would i feel make things worse for healers than it already is.

The intention would be to reduce the number of knee-jerk kicks in the game. Maybe it could be as low as 30 minutes if that’s what works in blizz testing.

You need to take other people into consideration: we are not randomly generated bots. Some people actually want to do the dungeons the normal way and without the short cuts (I’ve had bad experiences with short cuts). Just because you’re in a hurry does not mean others are.

This kick I can understand. Moral: pay attention to your team mates.

That instance wasn’t abuse. Majority decided they didn’t want you there.

This I can agree with though.

I like your concept, but maybe sort of a reverse diminishing returns where you start each day being able to kick as we do now, but if your character is kicking too often, you get an adjustment to only be able to kick much less for that day.

Most people do not get a jerk EVERY dungeon so if someone is kicking every dungeon, the possibility of them abusing the system is highly possible.

Yeah that’s a bit of a better algorithm, that’d work great IMO.

Now on the really important things. I’m about to eat some celery, but the question of cream cheese or blue cheese dressing eludes me! :grinning:

Actually, it is.

Imagine how much you’d hate playing when people would continuously troll your group, harass the group, sit at the entrance and do nothing… and then when you finally kicked them, they ended up right back in your group again.

That’s what used to happen. Just an example. It was ten times worse to deal with crap we had to deal with over a 30 minute debuff.

Agreed. I wish Vote Kick could be limited specifically to things like abuse and going AFK…rather than it being a tool to be abused by whiney players who simply don’t like you.

It’s like, “hey I’m a neckbeard and I think your mog looks dumb so sorry gonna have to kick ya mate. It doesn’t even matter if you’ve worked hard throughout cuz hey my ego.”

At least you weren’t part of the group that leveled via dungeons and kicked people right before the last boss of the dungeon for lulz. I was part of a guild and hung out in their discord while they were doing that :S They thought it was the funniest thing in the world despite me pointing out it was toxic and rude.

PS it went through because they controlled the group 4 of them w/ one random. I felt bad for the random.

That’s a good idea and would help as long as Vanilla Sam doesn’t believe it’s only there to stroke his ego and give him immunity to be annoying.

Hopefully you don’t still play with them. They sound toxic to the max. Would hate to be friends with people like that.
