Vote kicking is out of control

Same thing could be said for reports on the forum.

Ok. This is my reply because you are failing at simple logic here.

They don’t know that a no vote exists, and they have no reason to assume one does. The vote passed.

If you can’t grasp that, there is no reason to continue to try explaining it. It’s a very simple concept that I have explained multiple times.

Low blow but I like it.

Still majority rules needs to be the only rule. I dread being enslaved by some group of hunter pet dmg players.

laughably, they’ll say its ok to kick for mogs, the race you play…‘working as intended’…but watch them screech like banshees when I use MY right to IGNORE them in here LMAO…they’ll foam on for DAYS, stalking me thread to thread, insulting, harassing…lol…because they cant practice what they preach.

if THEY can kick for ANY reason…I can IGNORE for any reason, and IF they ARENT hypocrites theyd just accept it and NOT have their vitriolic responses when I do, lol

Yet you are not ignoring anyone.

This is why I say the kicks are being abused.

This person is not joking. He most certainly has kicked players out who are gearing but he wanted to kick them out for their hair.

This particular user is nothing but bad takes and ignoring anyone who calls them out on it. Don’t waste your time.

As for the topic at hand, it sucks but sometimes people aren’t gonna want you around anymore for the most arbitrary of reasons. Get used to it if you’re gonna keep playing with randoms, it’s going to happen. In the time it took you to come here and complain about it, you could have found another group.

The thing is the way that the social contract works (where you can now be sanctioned for saying things other people find offensive, which means many things that used to be commonly said in PUGs), vote kicking is the safest way for players to vent their spleen – because Blizzard has said that vote kicking is always unquestionable. If it passes the vote, it’s fine, no questions asked about the motive, because the motive is irrelevant … it’s automatically legitimated by the vote itself.

Vote kicking is, in effect, a “safe harbor” for toxic players under a system where opening their mouths can get them sanctioned, but their motives for kicking will be never questioned.

[Note I don’t think the old system where people were more commonly verbally toxic was good or healthy, and I’m not advocating for it. But this approach creates odd incentives to say the least.]

While simultaneously not ignoring anyone at all.

They don’t ignore anyone.

I should have put ignore in quotes, but its the same idea. “Haha im ignoring u” post are always done for attention, regardless of if they actually ignore or not. Same energy.

Well said.

The ARE abused and those posters KNOW it…because they KNOW exactly what the kick was created to deal with…problematic trolling sorts…lol.

matches were created to start fires we need for whatevre reason…not arson…precisely the same clown show in here with the vote kick.

My issue is that it hasn’t been this bad in past expansions. I’ve been here for all of them and have been kicked out one single other time before this expansion.

We shouldn’t have to get used to it. We can change bad things.
