Maybe that’s what I’m thinking of. It’s been a while as I honestly cannot remember the last time I have personally initiated a kick. Gosh, I can’t even remember ever kicking someone.

Yeah you can tell it has been a while for me as well… but I do remember people raging on the forums about not being able to kick because they had kicked people so much. But it has literally been years since I’ve read one of those complaints.

probably too much to keep track of.
And lets say there are only 1000 complaints a day, which Id bet there would be TONS more if Blizzard put an option in game to specifically report abuse of the vote kick.
if its 100 a day, thats probably a full 8 hour work day for one person. A $30k a year employee or more to spent time tracking down maybe 100 complaints a day to see which are valid and which arent, then dealing out punishment.
If there are 1000 complaints, thats TEN employees at 30K a year or more.
If its 10,000 thats 100 employees just to handle complaints, figuring out what was going on and dealing out punishment where it abuse occurred.
There is no flippin wonder Blizzard just lets players deal with it. Anyone who had to pay the tab would figure it out really quick.
I think they try to come up with a system that just works best in most scenarios.
They do need to bump up the votes required to kick.
A simple majority isnt enough.
There have been MANY kicks that I saw go thru because I voted no, but three others did, and then we got to wait 15 minutes for a tank to show up again and it was all because little Timmy Whinesalot couldnt handle the fact that people make mistakes sometimes and vote kicked the tank because he took a wrong turn.
had MY vote counted the entire thing could have been vetoed and a tank who was doing just fine wouldnt have been kicked.

Ive seen kicks for transmogs, friend.
Some little whiny wimpboy didnt like someones mogs before we even left the gate and him and his little ratboy buddies kicked the guy.
Sorry but 99% of all kicks I see come up are for crap reasons that have NOTHING to do with the run getting done.
MOST of them are because little boys like to show others how tough they are in a video game.

The way forward would be to say hi and then keep mouth shut all the way through the dungeon . That’s the safest way to play with randoms.

I’ve not seen them but I’ve read people admit they have or would kick someone for transmog. I guess people get triggered by all kinds of things now-a-days.

See and I think that is just wrong… I mean back when I started this game and you’d have to form groups in chat… We always chatted in dungeons. I remember in Uldaman I met one of the best friends I ever made in this game just because we had a lot in common. Of course that was like 10 years ago and he no longer plays… but… still.
its not adults…not mature, sane adults anyway.
When Ive seen it it was obviously it was some teenage little boy who gets his kicks abusing a feature that was created to remove problematic players, not just because…'sniff…I dont like you".
I love reading these forums watching people try to justify wasting another human beings time, 10 minutes…maybe 45 minutes…sitting in queue just like these clowns did, only to be kicked over some petty trash mentally defective crap that is running thru someones head.
Its part of what drove me to stop running dungeons in legion.
Sometimes I really hate people in a very literal sense.
But this is what happens when the patients are allowed to run the asylum.

If you want to play with a nice group , joins guild make friends and then play with them.
If you do dungeon finder then sadly there is nothing more you can expect . I have never voted to kick anyone unless they AFK because I got kicked quite a bit when I started and I knew nothing about dungeons. People are just jerks and they are even more of jerks when they are randomly grouped .

Used to be you couldn’t initiate vtk when the group was in combat. Was this changed? When and why? Otherwise, this post gets 0/10

Why would you want to continue to run with a group that bad? If you get people like this, do yourself and your sense of self-worth a favor and drop group.
Otherwise, this is not a case of abusing the vtk system. 3 of 5 group members didn’t want you in the group any more. It’s their privilege to kick you out, for whatever reason. That’s how the system is designed to work.
As has been noted previously, it’s a system with flaws, but it has to be this way.
Don’t sweat the small stuff, move on, and get on with your life!

It was already stated it can be done in combat. I put them on ignore and tried to continue because thats 30 minutes of my life sitting in queue, another 30 if I leave and get deserter, and another 30 to wait for a new group AFTER that. Did you not bother to read my post?
Is it really spam though? Blizz likes us to grind for things right? I call it grinding to level up my post count to be the very best.

HAH! I said something similar in another thread about how no mature adult uses the terms they were using. People forget that adolescents play these games too. They’re the reason why I only speak on a headset with friends. I get sick of hearing them call random people on the internet derogatory terms for gay people.

You should have engaged them till you did one boss and quit yourself . No deserter if you complete atleast 1 Boss.
You only get the debuff if no boss has been downed yet and/or the group hasn’t wiped. If you’re at least one boss in, no deserter debuff. Did all this happen before the first boss?
Actually with about 8 seconds of looking at the details, it only ‘works’ that way for the reasons I laid out before. Blizzard does not have the man power or the money to have 15 employees sitting around dealing with vote kick complaints all day long.
Financially the ONLY way to do it is to let the players decide and let those who ABUSE the INTENT of the system just get away with it, hoping that its a smaller problem than the vote kick was created to prevent to begin with.
It ISNT that Blizzard woke up one morning and decided to make the vote kick with the INTENT that three players could kick other players for no valid reason but just to waste that persons time.
No, it was put there to solve a problem that apparently was bad enough that it warranted having the ability to kick problematic players out.
And as with any system, bad people will find ways to abuse what the original intent is.
Just like people who abuse public assistance. It was there to HELP people, but the immoral sort abuse it because its there and they want to.
Same with the vote kick.
Its there to remove players who are causing a problem. Like the DPS who kept taunting crap in Gnomeragan a while back and telling us he was going to keep doing it. He cause maybe three wipes before we realized he wasnt joking and forced us to vote kick him.
It wasnt INTENDED to be abused to remove players just because I dont like their mogs…or they accidentally made a wrong turn, which accounts for MOST of the vote kicks I see come up. A tank took a wrong turn and cost us 7 seconds and little Johnny Brownstain cant keep his shorts on long enough to backtrack

yeah…we only use voice when our little guild runs together. I never use it in random content. Im sure Id say something that would scar one of these little halfwits emotionally for years to come if I had to hear them talk.
