Vote kick needs punishment

It ISNT that Blizzard woke up one morning and decided to make the vote kick with the INTENT that three players could kick other players for no valid reason but just to waste that persons time.
No, it was put there to solve a problem that apparently was bad enough that it warranted having the ability to kick problematic players out.

You had to actually interact with people back then. LFD and LFR are the exact opposite. It just throws you in there with some randoms, which is where all the toxicity brews. Why do you think mobas and games like that are so toxic? You’re literally stuck in a game with people that you don’t know, that you have to rely on, and that can hold you hostage. Be glad you can kick in this game.

No not really , just telling you how to not get a deserter debuff when stuck with a bad group.It takes 5 minutes typically to get to a boss . Not too long to grin and bear .

Its simple really just make it so people have to pay gold to kick someone from the party.

I like that idea - actually measuring the AFK amount of a player for purposes of kicking.

Problem with that is, the group is still held hostage for ages until they can kick the person. Otherwise they have to leave and take the deserter. Wouldn’t work

I feel that not allowing partial groups IS the solution.

Not really… many tanks or healers run with a friend to help them through the queue. Why would they then queue in the LFG system if they were unable to help a friend? This would also prevent recruit a friend teams from doing dungeons, or just a couple of friends who like to play together.

Ahahahahaha - sorry, no. That is terrible - if you think complaints like the OP are bad enough now, the forums would be snowed under by complaints they were kicked for no reason by the autobot.

But basically the more you kicked, the less you could kick… I wonder if they removed that feature?

Probably, because it promoted toxic behaviour from some people - I rarely kicked people, ever, but there were some people who were unable to be kicked for up to 4 hours due to becoming immune after being kicked frequently. These toxic players did everything they could to disrupt the group runs… (this was also in cata, when the dungeons were pretty brutal at the time). You were unable to kick them, and couldn’t run the dungeon with them because they would pull, taunt and generally get healers or dps killed on purpose .

It was implemented in wrath, when LFG in this iteration came into being, to kick players who were griefing dungeons. The deserter got added when tanks refused to run occulus and held groups hostage to be kicked in order to be able to instantly queue again. The deserter debuff prevented this behaviour.

So if there was an auto-kick for AFK, won’t we all get kicked if like the tank perma-dc’d or healer left and we have to wait for a refill? We have to jump jump jump and cast random spells at each other so we’re not AFK?

As far as this OP goes - just his asinine posts and snarky replies to others kinda backs up the kicking group. This guy is not someone you’d want in your group.

Too bad there isn’t a forum function to Ignore someone in-game too so you’ll never be in a group with them.

That’s a good point that I didn’t think of, I was only looking at it from the perspective of waiting for a stroppy tank or healer holding the group hostage. (Occulus memories…)

So why should the vote kick system change then? People have made the point that if you’re getting kicked frequently from groups, then something is occuring from your end. Perhaps you should look at WHY you are getting booted frequently. If this is a one off, then why are you so bothered? It’s a one off… people can boot you if they don’t like your transmog.

I’m feral, I’ve been booted a lot this expac already simply because lolferal, at least prior to the dps increases Blizz have given us. Still point is… you’re making a mountain out of a molehill over it. So it makes people wonder.

My guess is they’ll just remove it. If they can’t track who’s being an ahole and who legitimately deserves a kick…they’ll just get rid of the kick feature altogether. That or just keep it and get rid of deserter debuff from being kicked.
