What I’ve proposed in other threads, is an escalation of consequences. It doesn’t abolish the issue, but it makes it more manageable.
I will defer to you in this matter, but I wouldn’t think the increase in complexity yields benefits worth that increase. Ultimately, it appears the result is the same - the group can decide the experience for the few. But, that trade off seems worth it because we can see folks asking for queue-able Mythic 0 and Mythic Plus.
That convenience is pretty sweet! I write that acknowledging my own enjoyment of things that are convenient.
Even more crazy… More threads will be made. Whinner gotta make HIS OWN thread! Otherwise it does not count or somethin.
If people are getting kicked or leaving frequently enough that the consequences start to add up, then the general consensus should promote self-reflection. I don’t disagree with that stance.
However, for people who rarely get kicked to face harsh consequences designed to punish those who are misbehaving, this approach provides a solution. It ensures that the punishment fits the behavior and cushions the blow for those who are unfairly caught in the crossfire.
I like how there’s a final, definitive answer yet still there’s discussion.
While I may not agree with this, I do appreciate the reasoned approach here. Ultimately, I will play by WoW’s rules and “embrace the suck” either way
The vote to kick system is allow to be abused for any reason.
You don’t like someone … kicked
Wrong class … kicked
Fear of taken gear… kicked
Cross faction … kicked for not liking other faction.
Chatting too much… kicked
Wearing pvp gear … kicked
Don’t like tank or healer … kicked
Being too slow … kicked
Dps or heals are too low … kicked
Going the wrong way… kicked
Hunter’s pet caused wiped… kicked
Players doesn’t know what they are doing… kicked
30 minutes isn’t a harsh consequence
People who are rarely kicked rarely have to deal with it so it’s not a problem
This statement is ridiculous. Most people have a problem when they were kicked for keeping their head down and doing their jobs. No one is complaining about “i was a dick and got kicked” lol.
Apparently not, though.
I hate to tell you but kicks are not the norm.
“rarely” You say that and also people complain about HOW MANY posts there are on this topic. Life doesn’t exist in a vacuum. Okay. Just because YOU don’t experience it doesn’t mean it doesn’t exist.
Bah, even if that explanation thread was stickied, enlightened with big neon sign and crazy emojis, it WOULD not address the various OPs feelins on the matter so it does not count… Gotta BE THE SNOWFLAKE in there! There situation is new and totally unique! Whinner has got to whine! /get the popcorn… I got to READ!
This. There needs to be a longer and longer cooldown on issuing votes to kick the more you abuse it.
Something like this:
First kick in a day: 5 minute CD
Second kick in a day: 30 minute CD
Third kick in a day: 2 hour CD
Fourth+ kick in a day: 6 hour CD, and only resets to third kick in a day CD once the next day starts.
This limitation should be on a per account basis, so no logging to alts to get a fresh set of kicks.
Reasoning: If you’re in a situation where you’re somehow needing to kick a player more than three times a day, either you’re having a catastrophically unlucky day [and odds are one of the other group members will be able to vote to kick in your stead], or your standards for kicking people are too low and the person initiating the vote kick is the problem.
Like I’ve done thousands of dungeons and people just don’t get kicked for no reason. It’s always they were afk, skipping quest items (as a tank), or mobs, or pulling stuff the group didn’t wanna bother killing, or just outright disconnected but people usually even wait for that.
It legitimately is never “idk why i was kicked”.
No such thing exists. Every kick is justified because grouping is at will. Theat means if I don’t like your mog (and honestly I don’t) I can kick you.
30 minutes is pretty harsh. That’s not even factoring the time it takes to get into a dungeon either.
Yeah, exactly. The group ruling is final.
Okay. Just because YOU don’t experience it doesn’t mean it doesn’t exist.
Yeah, look, we already talked about you. It’s clear that you are the problem in your groups based on how often you get kicked. You need to take responsibility for that and get better at the game. Or become a nicer person, if that’s your issue. I don’t know which one it is, but no one gets kicked daily, sometimes multiple times per day, randomly or for no reason. They get kicked that often because they are causing problems.
And I was talking about the people that do only get kicked rarely, not the people like you.
i feel like this thread was created for a specific passive aggressive purpose rather than any real discussion.
almost like op just made it to get one up in a reply chain to a person in a thread that may or may not have gotten 404d.
