For whatever reason the majority of the group decides to
Clearly.
Bliz took that lazy position because they OBVIOUSLY didnt want to deal with the thousands of tickets, having to sift thru to see what a valid kick even is and IF it was bogus or not…and thats TOTALLY subjective anyway.
If a DPS does 85% of his POSSIBLE damage IS that a valid reason to kick him?
In content that matters…yeah, it likely could be.
How about leveling dungeons? Is it still valid? WHO KNOWS. lol
There is NO WAY for a GM to really decide with any real accuracy if a lot of kicks are valid or bogus.
It IS being abused and we know it because there have been lists of comments in here the last years of them ADMITTING they kicked someone over something like mogs or character race and those things have NOTHING to do with ‘meshing’ with the group…theyre TOTALLY inconsequential to a 5 man run…yet some ARE kicked over that childish crap and their game time is being wasted by petulant children .
yeah…ive seen it with my own eyes where a kick comes up DURING a boss fight.
I still think we should be able to see who begins the kick. I want to see who is doing it and ask them why and then report them for obviously misusing the function. This will lessen random kicks when players have the name in the open and really think about the kick.
Duh. The system can’t always determine if someone is undeserving of being kicked, which is why removing the penalty timer for getting kicked makes sense.
You want to berate and harass them for kicking you for a valid reason and then file a false report?
Interesting thing to admit.
Guess what, you don’t know how many vote-kick happens in a day either. You do not have access to that kind of data, and spamming a quote from Vrakthris will not strenghen your argument, especially with the name calling and trolling behaviour.
And we’re back to tanks afking at the entrance if the group isn’t good enough or a dungeon they don’t like.
Cool, and then we’re back to vote kicking them and moving on our merry way.
Who said anything about harassing? I want to see who wanted to kick me. Tell me why you are doing it so I know. If it is because of some silly troll reason, that is griefing and yes reportable.
Just a little parable…
I recall a few years back a known elitist troll poster who posted under a number of different avatars, often posting about what’s wrong with casuals, ie doing armchair psychiatric diagnoses about how they are mentally ill and antisocial because they aren’t willing to dump their friends and make the right kind of friends and stop doing that random queuing stuff. How their existence is hurting the feefees of real gamers.
One night that poster (not a player, always on unplayed forum posters so their guildies wouldn’t realize what they were up to on the forums) apparently got a bit drunker than usual, and posted how they often would queue up with 3 friends just to kick the 5th player that the system gave them. That they would do this endlessly on the weekends. That this was the most fun in the game, and recommended that everyone should do this to abuse those players who deserved to be abused, and maybe even drive them from the game.
Mind you, it was probably 4 am when this was posted. Of course it blew up. But even though there is no moderator on duty at that time of the day, within an hour the thread had disappeared.
The poster disappeared, too, and was gone for a month. Someone at Blizzard didn’t like that thread. And probably didn’t like having to log in in the middle of the night to deal with it.
So if you’re a person who is patting yourself on the head for being able to abuse noobs and get away with it because there are no consequences to you, you’re a bad person.
I think we should be able to see the reason. This would be helpful if they keep getting kicked because they keep making the same mistakes. The only reason not to would be to protect those who write “queer” or “lol” or [racial or gender slur goes here]. Which I think a player who is kicked should know so they realize the sort of trash human beings who kicked them, and it wasn’t their fault.
And in the wrong sub forum.
Instead of blaming everything else for your setbacks, it might be helpful to take a moment to reflect on what aspects of your personality or gameplay might make you less appealing to groups in LFD.
So if i want to run a group with 3 of my friends, and i don’t want to run with that last person, it is perfectly ok for me to boot that guy. Wow i was always running to the dungeon entrance. I can use group finder without filling guilty since blizzard says its ok to do it.
Exactly.
I dont expect a GM to be able to weed thru and figure it out…its too subjective.
So the ONLY way to remedy this is to adjust the kick vote and the timeout and see what happens.
3 votes per daily reset per Bnet account is MORE than enough…unless these folks want to admit theyre liars when they say they dont see kicks at all anyway, lol
Scaling time out…0 minutes the first exit, +10 minutes each additional exit.
account wide timeouts to keep trolls from swapping alts to do it again
Start there and see how it pans out.
Daddy Blizzard dictates what’s morally right or wrong, now (apparently)

lmao…if only we didnt have ADMISSIONS of kick abuse on this forum
Once saw a Dwarf Shaman with the ugliest transmog I’d ever seen.
Proceeded to initiate a kick and got it passed.
And you were just accusing someone else of gaslighting… Yeah, pot meet kettle.

I’m still cautious about allowing other players to maintain some form of punishment power, although this could be a very good compromise that is much less prone to abuse.

You should stop posting on so many alts. Not a good look for you.
Of course they do, it’s THEIR system that THEY are liable for lmao
“OoOoOo I guess social media sites dictate what can and can’t be posted on their platform.”
