Voidweaver Damage

I don’t hate it, I don’t love it, couldn’t be worse than damp as an option though while fully recognizing we need something to make sure games end, and I don’t wanna go back to mana drain. That said I don’t think blizzard makes an effort to figure out a better option at this point.

This isn’t actually happening though based on any meaningful data pool. Rogue/mage do the lowest sustain of all specs and are still a healthy bit above. The only context in which “disc out damages dps” is if disc is bursting and dps isn’t. The people saying “Disc out damages dps specs” without further context are just not making a good faith argument, or are considering out of context conditions in which a DPS was shut down and VW disc was free casting.

I make a point to not take a firm stance in either direction, but I also make a point to call out information that isn’t correct.

I don’t have a data pool that differentiates between oracle/vw, but pres is miles ahead in burst capability with disc taking the advantage in sustain, this data could be skewed by the fact that 20%~ of disc are oracle, but even assuming double that %, pres would still take the lead in burst by a significant margin.

I personally haven’t struggled against a VW disc, not that I don’t consider others opinions valid, but I don’t agree with the strength of the opinion about Disc damage, is it over tuned? Maybe, but not nearly as much as people are suggesting. I also feel that disc priest damage is 1000% more easy to mitigate than Pres damage with positioning.

Data observed is from wow arena logs, RSS 2100+ it has a burst damage, and sustain damage column to sort with. Disc data pool is 5400 games, Pres is 1482 games.
