Guys, discuss High Elves on the High Elf Megathread

Or just accept this teams answer on high elves, keep discussion of them in the megathread, and otherwise shut up about it.

The current Dev team made their stance clear. That won’t change until a different dev team shows up. These threads are just annoying at this point.

Since you are using a real life analogy, let’s use one that is actually correct (according to Wow).
It would be like two people of the same race (biologically) and the same ethnicity- that up and one day says: I can’t live in the same city as you, because I disagree with your political views. And I also want to adopt a different culture than I was born in. And thus, they became different ethnicities when they joined the Alliance.

It’s like two Irish men, both born and raised in Ireland and one says: I don’t agree with you being a Christian and I am bored of living like this. So I am going to America. And then that Irish man going around in American and telling everyone how Ireland is full of fakes. American is the real Irish culture.

To say that people can not live together and have differing views and even differing cultures, is absurd.

The reason it had to be done this way, is because this is a two faction game. So alliance traitors can not still remain in Quel’Thalas, which was now a Horde state. That means, that Alliance traitors are no longer High elven.

But I am not going to derail the thread anymore. Anymore Helf discussion, can be taken to the Mega thread.

As stated above.

I think (imo) the Dev team haven’t touch on the remaining High Elf population because maybe they have something plan in the future, thought turning all under the Void Elf as a sub-faction would probably solve it.

Thought, I thoght the Void elf where transform against their will? Are does ELf actually speeding this thing? :scream:
Because um, that’s literally worst that Fel, I mean Sargeras Created the Burning Legion endless army TO FIGHT THE VOID!? :exploding_head:
Oh
my if this is true we might as well hand over a Void Elf army to the Old Gods just like what happen to the Felsworn!

It would be odd for them to embrace the void after one of the main reasons some of them left the BE is because of their opposition to the use of Fel (even though they have warlocks still) and draining mana from living beings. Void is kind of that on roids.

That wasn’t all there was too it. Veressa left to escort a human male (Rhonin) and just followed him to Dalaran and forgot that her people existed. Didn’t even bother going back to save any of them. And then “flails” when she finds out that they actually survived.

It really does show that parallel. Where the High elves can become tainted and hated for it, shunned but a High elf can become tainted and yet loved, accepted for it. One person vs an entire nation. Boggles my mind.

Omg my god I hope this is not righ
If this happens IM GOING TO BE SO #$%%^ mad at BLIZZ! :rage:
You mean to tell me that they killed of my ONLY true king Keal’thas Sunstrider betray BY the Alliance in the first place, then kill as a traitor for desperately trying to find a cure for their people becoming himself a mana addict
and tainting him as a traitor

Only to have Alliance have Void Elf and spreading it to the remaining High Elf? Oh
my god that be soooo bad
 on so many levels
If becomes true I honestly be so mad!! :face_with_symbols_over_mouth:

Yes. 100% true. All of it is true.

Yeah I don’t understand it. Fel tainted people can be Paladins but void tainted people cant for “reasons”

The time for this sort of thing is long past. If Blizz had been smart about it the Void Elves would have come from the Silver Covenant in the first place.

The recruitment scenario should have been something along the lines of Alleria going to assist the Silver Covenant as they investigate a strange magic coming from Mcguffinville. SC finds ethereals doing weird voidy things, try to stop them, and one unfortunate accident later most of the SC find themselves as Void Elves.

This would have:

  1. Given the Void Elves some much needed connection to the Alliance. They would literally be the same Elves that have been fighting for the Alliance since tBC
 albeit with a tragic twist.
  2. Would have given them some actual lore other than “oh yeah, random group of Blood Elves that you’ve never heard of but are TOTALLY on your side
 for reasons”.
  3. Would have eliminated High Elves from ever being a possibility and stifled most of the clamoring for them to be an allied race

Self reflecting thoughts

(Calm down Ozzie, calm down
Only adults try to put logic in to a game
its just a bad story game you haveppen to love
 calm the f&^* down Oz.)

IM just going to play the game, need to cool down a bit

Also I agree with you Sharana

This was the big ticket item on the Feedback a lot of us were giving for Void Elves from the moment they were announced, but it was completely ignored. Probably was too late to alter the recruitment scenario I suppose.

No, it’s too late for this. What Blizzard SHOULD have done was have a Void Lord break out of Dalaran Prison or one hunting down Aleria and the SC try but fail to help and are corrupted before Aleria + the hero save them. Rather than a story like that Blizzard gave us Blood Elf traitors, meaning they probably will make them an Ally race in the future or will continue their story.

Personally I think it’s a terrible idea, I think the void elves story is not strong enough to support anymore after the implementation.

I think those that really just want High Elves just need to accept the fact Blizzard doesn’t want High Elves to be playable.

This whole “suggestion” is a thinly veiled request to remove the largest and most prominent High Elf organization (and one of the biggest reasons for playable Alliance High Elves) by converting them into Void Elves. In short, it’s an anti-High Elf thread no matter how you try and dress it up.

To which I say, no. It’s a terrible idea. And, I see this “suggestion” for it really is.

I’d have more “impolite” things to say but I’d prefer to keep my trust level 3 status thank you very much.

LOL
you describe things as if they were blackmailing to the elves. Was just a common negotiation among two races, same thing happen in real world, most of the time a country don’t help to another country until if get some profit. You are not going to send your own people to war to defend to another country or race if you don’t get at least some important profit for your kind.
Learn some basics of how war and policies works, before spiting a headcanon like that.

Does anyone think that the three Sisters Windrunner are ever going to see eye to eye on anything again?

We are in a countdown mode for one to die - most likely, Vereesa - and for the two remaining to blame each other.

My guess is that whatever calamity befalls Veressa will be the end of the Silver Covenant as well.

I would rather they came up with something original for Void Elves rather than retconning already known lore even further just to give them a Mary Sue story.

There’s a lot of room for Their story to really be creative and expanded on with New Lore.

You’re only suggesting this because you feel like it would “dissolve” High Elves from being discussed as a playable race.

This would be a more original way to “dissolve” them than having them flipped into Void Elves.

Just woke up, Don’t Derail the Thread Please!
Discuss your opinions about high elves in the thread mentioned above

No it is not if you followed up on any of the void elf story, most of their backstory/development comes after release, this is why I suggested the silver covenant be voided through some old/God void related event in the future.

I know you are talking about the 10 part void elf megadiscussion yes? I took part in that discussion when it was still active and with BFA it’s clear that they had listened in making void elves more like High Elves, they aren’t even horde which was one brought up concern

Doing this will help that, it will quite literally make the High Elves they liked into mostly void elves

Take a good look at my past posts, I mentioned High Elves would still exist in the silver covenant but the void elves would be its more active wing. Think of it as them “Renting” the silver covenant until high elves become playable

Might as well. The Silver Covenant isn’t exactly growing. Quite the opposite. I’m sure they’ve lost quite a few over the years of these wars.
