Yeah I have no idea how your idea still poaches the visual appearance of looking like a BE
Edit: also thanks Somand and Izzabelle for my literal fav comparison image
No ones asking to âdenyâ you customizations you just dislike that people put value on visual distinction and the themes and options youâre trying to poach are Horde themes and visuals for Thalassians.
More Void options I support
Well hereâs to hoping all you get is some jewelry in the future hair still remaining a visual distinction factor
The contrary dude⌠any time I hope you guys stay on your side of the fence someone comes asking for things related to us.
Or did you think you buddy above that justified âSan´laynâ in the Alliance did it with his/her whole good faith regarding the Belves? While he reduced the Belf customizations to âget some freaky Light stuff and be doneâ, hmm?
Tl;dr: you can´t âtalkâ for the WHOLE of the âproâ side⌠don´t put on that burden when you clearly haven´t made an actual consenssus. And end up worshipping the very same people making the exagerated demands.
Feel free to take the jewerly ALL for yourselves, it literally makes NO sense in the Belf side of the fence.
These are the people that are STILL working to overcome the disatrous effects of a zombie apocalypse that killed 90% of their population (the ONLY race as per current canon lore to had had such gross catastrophe happen to them -well no I´m mistaken, the Forsaken got it worst. They were a kill AND torture ratio of 100%, and their compensation villain batting and getting ignored in the After Life expac /rofl-). These are the people described by Golden (someone we all know doesn´t care much for researching Horde lore) as more bitter and less interested in âdisplays of opulenceâ. Guess which meaning (if it isn´t clearly religious) does jewerly have in the Belf society? OPULENCE. Direct censored word contradiction with the curent lore, hilarious how LOW the art team went as far as Belf customizations are related.
We deserved scars and our TBC game box runic tattoos⌠not jewerly nobody uses. And that most don´t care about in a meta perspective.
I can show you several posts in this and other GD threads saying Fel green stuff should be given to Velves cause THEN they are âBlood Elvesâ. Such convenient argumentsâŚ
And you evidently forgot ALL the threads starting this year asking for âVoidinsâ. And Demon Hunters too.
Meanwhile Xul´horac cries in lore factsâŚ
Considering most you people do is to offer ways to reduce the themes surrounding the race instead of actual exploration based upon the ACTUAL lore, I rather you people don´t propose stuff. It´s less damaging for us in retrospective if you guys don´t make suggestions on things you clearly don´t give two rat´s butts about.
Maybe because the things they got DON´T properly reflect the actual background of the race? No seriously, those were quite meaningless. The jewerly means nothing regarding actual Belf lore:
Belves are NOT a culture that developed using jewels, those ARE the Draenei.
New hair colors are NOT a reflection on the history or the culture of the race, they are just a different shade of already existing colors -personally I didn´t like the import on the blue ones, too "void elfy2 for my tastes. I guess this only means a retconn that puts âblueâ as a hair color NOT resulting from rotting but actually existing in the living race-.
Ear size is a gameplay commodity at best, a horrible retconn at worst (Belves are NOT supporters of hybridization⌠why are âhalf-elfâ ears an option in the race that despises hybrids?)
The literal ONLY âexpansionâ based on lore were the blue / purple eyes. And for lore freaks like myself, the devs still managed to crap on the customization by proxy of excusing it as âHigh Elfâ options -I didn´t mind to believe those eye colors were the result of Fel being finally displaced and arcane getting to be once again the âdominantâ magic inside the individual, especially on individuals that deal constantly with arcane like the Magisters. I hate the idea that the people that did NOT move a finger to fight for the nation got their cake and ate it, cause they returned to reap the benefits of the sacrifices made by the actual Blood elves when 2 secs ago they were despising them and making bad publicity upon the Belves. It´s disgusting.
My Belf toons survived a zombie apocalypse that killed 9 out of 10 elves, were are their scars, their damaged ears, their runic tattoos? Where are their fancy mutations thanks to Blood Magic usage adquired in MoP?
So anyways, talking with some of my blood elf RP buddies last night, the idea of phoenix thematics came back up, and while Iâm generally for ombre hair colours for void elves exclusively to keep the emo/goth/scene thing faction exclusive for the apparent obsession people have with it, red/gold as an exclusive ombre colour on some cuts for blood elves would look absolutely fantastic.
They could use similar tech from the nightborne tattoos to give red/gold holographic tattoos that mimic fire as well. Thisâd be an excellent OTT exclusive, as void theme tattoos just donât quite lend to that sort of effect at all.
People are really sleeping on playing into the pheonix aesthetic for them recently. People are just obsessed with the base, but giving them a heavier tilt into fire as well would really set them apart from the originator race, who hasnât really been seen leaning into the sun/fire themes at all.
Fire tinted eyes could also be an interesting concept that has absolutely no place in the void elf kit, unlike regular red eyes, which suits both.
Could you imagine if someone not supporting more HE options had this behavior in a post.
They already portray everyone as horrible just because they have an opposing request that rests on visual distinction remaining in place.
Half the time they take issue even if you express the sentiment seen feels like entitlement to a race that doesnât belong to their faction.
This is just flat out riveting to watch more behavior from that side not argue in good faith, and the people who take offense at the slightest thing when itâs someone whoâs not promoting their request remain ever so quiet.
There really comes a point - 4 years, minimum, at this point - that people just lose their good faith because they have not been allowed to have a proper discussion.
Iâm still waiting for more posts that are actually just blood elf customization requests to expand on their kit that arenât telling somebody else they canât have something.
At least Iâm interjecting that quite often here.
The fact you donât see the request for visual distinction to remain in place as a request is entirely a you problem. That doesnât mean people arenât arguing it in good faith, its just opposition to your own request and that seems to bother you.
Maybe you shouldnât given a couple of your last few posts were highly inappropriate or at least step away if you are going to end up that emotional about stuff.
You just come into them with personal attacks, name calling and baseless accusations.
And no, not with you, as I said you are clearly to emotional for this topic but that does not give you the right to personally attack anyone, name call or make baseless accusations.
You know. I think this really goes to show how factions have become such a toxic thing in wow. They literally cut the player base in half and put them at each otherâs throats rather than working together to improve the game. Instead we have people quibbling about some visual customizations that have already been shared with the other half and lamenting that others got them.
Opposition is on topic if that bothers you then idk what to tell you.
This is how you act when youâve been the part of the community that has received options at the expense of others visual distinction that is contentious?
BE fans who have lost visual distinction arenât even acting out like you are and itâs extremely uncalled for, but not surprising from your side nor is it surprising to see Helfer support for that behavior.
I would suggest arguing in good faith and not what ever it is youâre doing.
I might sit down and compile out the stuff my guild mates are going on about sometime this week. Thereâs even been lore discussions about a âwhat ifâ if Rommath becomes racial leader for x reason, a few being tossed out, and the sinâdorei tapping into the sunwell more and going absolutely nuts with power - giving some pretty crazy thematic customization potenial thatâs even more OTT than Lightforged Draenei.
Not even sure if itâs worth the effort though to post on GD, but maybe some info-graphics and some model edits. Especially delving into mirror potentials for customization for both giving them a unique flair. (You know, what people say they want.)
Pretty much.
Most of the people I know in game were excited about the potential of Thalassiasn as a whole getting more focus and lore, but considering the reception, I doubt either race and itâs originator are getting that much attention because it might set off all the rage again.
Then again, an Alliance high elf got some attention in the newest books so maybe they are actually ignoring this crap fest.
Actually, Iâm now questioning why BElves every deserve uniqueness anymore since factions are clearly ruining the game and making the player base act like⌠this. Please share every customization option between BElves and VElves and delete factions Blizzard!
