Void elves can look like blood elves but not vise versa

Yes it’s very clear when the previous threads’ topic were centered around skin and eye colors, that Void Elves eventually got them. Looks like the conversations in new threads like this one and others are on hair color - we’ll have to see how Blizzard handles this new conversation topic.

And yet Blood Elves are High Elves. VEs are another flavor sure but what flavor do you think that is I wonder? Maybe check your hair colors it might give you a hint.

I’m not sure I would really feel sorry for Void Elves having to wait that long if they did given they already got given more customization options vs other Allied Races so I don’t see how anyone would think they deserve anything more before other Allied Races that actually need customization options.

Indeed and the fact you’ve been listened to twice over when BE fans and people who value visual distinction should be heard too says a lot more than I think you’d like to give it credit for.

In the meantime enjoy your RP tools, don’t forget you can choose the bald option too :hugs:

So yeah, Blood Elves are now, for the most part, Holy and Arcane infused High Elves, while Void elves are Void Infused with a subrace of non-void infused High Elves.

Wildhammer dwarves don’t exist, nor do Sandfury trolls, I guess. Nor does the idea of Shen’dralar or having an imagination in a role-playing game, let alone an understanding of world-building and the benefits of it all.

Still want my holy tattoos and sun theme jewellery for my sunwell drawing blood elf. You know, the thing that makes them distinct from the core original High Elf - that was split between two factions in the story people want to cherry pick from - from the original base race that is now playable on both factions through the subrace ideology.

I sure do wish I could ask for things without trying to deny other people things constantly. That’d be trolling though.

Ombre hair please, and don’t let Blood Elves have it because I personally don’t want them to because factions or something?

The ability to poach the entire BE aesthetic effects BE fans and people who value visual distinction.

You’re entitled to no ones support, and opposition is a request as well. An echo chamber this isn’t but I know the HE Discord has you covered if that’s what you were looking for.

But opposition shouldn’t bother you, people who don’t support HE options on VEs argue in good faith and I applaud that.

I agree other races need more work done on their customization options. That’s a given. Asking for more customization options for your favorite race is also a given - I believe that’s what people are doing in their own favorite race threads too.

Since we know ‘customization is an on-going process’ per Blizzard, that means we keep the suggestions/ideas coming to Blizzard and they implement when they can (probably around expansion launches like they did for Shadowlands customizations).

I believe Blizzard heard both sides which is why they decided to give and share some of the eye colors, skin colors, and facial hair options.

The precedent they set is that they won’t simply not add customization should their be customization to be added and the time/resources allowed to do so.

So yeah, purple hair should never be given to Blood Elves because that’d be stealing faction identity from Alliance Void Elves, which is the clear distinct aesthetic that belongs to the Alliance, and hasn’t really existed even in prominent NPC form for the the Horde.

Can ya’ll ask for like, Light glitter hair or something that 's actually exclusive to your faction?

The precedent they set is they won’t defeat the purpose of their own AR. If you want to be a BE choose it on the selection screen.

Correct. Which is what I do when I choose to play on Horde.

On Alliance I get to play my high elf fantasy, as supported by Blizzard.

This has never actually been stated or even proven, I can say that because I have played this game since BC and Blizzard has only done it twice in that timeframe by updating the original character models and then updating Worgen/Goblins models and adding new customizations so I’m not really sure where you figure you are going to get so many new customizations every xpac or any time soon.

Blood Elves are High Elves that fantasy is a Horde core races theme.

You play a VE with RP tools on Alliance.

Something something there’s no blood elf distinction because they’re Quel’dorei. All of them are. Alleria was. Is. All the Ren’dorei are. All of the qd on alliance are the same as those in the horde. Share customizations. Profit.

I do that, I mean the differences between this character and Naughty are so very little. Lol. I mean good lord. :yum: :yum: :yum:

Don’t worry, he’s been spouting the same “wah my distinction” horde bias for months lol.

We can be twins cause same Lannisteros and Lannisterian look so similar.

I love the tentacles in this hair style and would like Azshara eyes.

Additional natural hair colors aren’t needed and takes visual uniqueness from BEs even further as well as waters down VEs even further and the chances Blizzard is going to do so much amazing things for each race when if VEs get more it likely won’t be tons of stuff like we’ve seen them do with races those options should be new unique void options.

The response to the new customization has been overwhelmingly positive. Will that potentially bring forward more customization options as a priority and add more things to the table?

I think a lot of things on the table as a result of this. The first step that enabled all of this was a large engineering undertaking to rebuild how our characters are put together under the hood. So that adding more options isn’t like literally an exponentially scaling, effort investment, which is how it would have been under the old system. That’s what limited us to how we built character models and what options we could offer.

And so now that we’ve kind of cracked that open, yeah, all of that is on the table. We are still going down the list of the races that haven’t been updated yet and getting those into alpha soon. But that’s an effort that’s going to continue after Shadowlands is out the door. And we’re really excited about the passion the community has around it. Our artists love going through all those ideas and suggestions and seeing what people are hyped about and seeing what we can make real.

The way the new character customizations have been designed, it all feels very modular. Is that something you think you’ll continue to add more to?

Yes, I think that we see this initiative as an ongoing one. It’s a platform upon which we can continue to build and add. We’ve already heard tons of requests and feedback on existing customizations and things people would love to see. And while we, of course, can’t get to everything in the limited time we have, that doesn’t stop as soon as Shadowlands is out. It’s a process that will continue. There are other races you want to give attention to, and then continue to revisit just the general space of letting people express themselves as their avatars with the greatest diversity possible in the game world.

In the words of a famed Orc: Times change.

Well nothing tops the HE communities years of spam though don’t give me all the props.

We all have our stances and others besides me share mine or have varying ideas of it.

That’s because there should be some, that was my whole point, Blood Elves and Void Elves are so close in looks and customizations already I don’t see why Void Elves need anything more from Blood Elves.

Yet they don’t do they because if you want a [natural haired] blue eyed generic fantasy elf the horde is waiting for you still stands huh
