I did say its up to interpretation there.
Which is why i say blizzard doesnt do a good job at defining race.
I didnt attack you at all

I have experienced it in the in the past from you, you’ve become more reasonable over time.
If you believe it doesn’t apply to you, then I would suggest not taking it personally.
I disagree. I think they have
By your own assertion there is merit to define Void Elves as a separate race to Blood/High Elves. (Customization)
You do not see it that way, I do. I am asking you to stop saying I am wrong.
Did I ever say you were wrong in your reasoning? I just said, that doesn’t follow suit, here is why I don’t agree with you. Now if you can show me where my reasoning is wrong, I will track with you. If you want to call your Void Elf a High Elf, why do you think I have some power to stop that? I generally only come in to these threads to stop individuals from pointing out how Blood Elves aren’t High Elves.
Dark Irons are a separate race like Void Elves, in that they were transformed.
Using your own reasoning it can go both ways. My way remains consistent, aligns more with lore (because I can substantiate it while not using game mechanics or personal opinion), now it’ll fall apart if like Moritz suggested, it’s a temporary transformation. You can disagree with how I am defining the race and I agree with Runeleaf’s reasoning (in this or was it anther thread?), identify as a High Elf. What’s funny is, we come to the same thing helfers zealots used against Blood Elves, but your don’t have Blood Elf under you name. shrugs
Now how one RPs in their personal mind, with friends, etc. I’m not going to assert a thing.
Oh so you’re type person who like to put “logic” in every game? Its called a game for a reason, get a life
Did you tried that In real life? Proof? got anything? that’s what i thought
Can anyone cite an actual example of someone “Exploding” from using Light and Void?
Because we have a lot of examples of someone using both forces and I don’t remember any of them “Exploding”.
There aren’t any. Only some vague mention of void and light coming together in an “explosion” that created the universe. But examples of people exploding? Nada, zip, zilch, zero.
Exploding is incorrect. But the Alleria and Turalyon shortstory is on the WoW youtube channel, you can look it up.
It results in horrific pain and visions of the future when two people infused with opposite powers touch. Actually wielding the energy would be even worse. To wield a power is to take into yourself.
Gotta love the self-described “lore experts” who clearly know nothing about the lore. Twilight magic is exactly a mixing of light and void and has been a thing since at least Cataclysm, if not before. Cataclysm even had twilight paladins called Twilight Vindicators, so this is nothing new at all.
But Dunning-Kruger at work I guess?
“Twilight” magic is not something that’s ever existed in WoW. The Twilight’s Hammer use Shadow(just another name for Void).
If you want to see the closest thing to a combination of Light and Void, look no further than Fel. It’s the product of clashing Light and Void, though what that actually means(if it’s part Light/part Void, or just a random byproduct) is unknowable.
Tell that to void elf priests.
Actually, they can touch just fine. In Shadows Rising, they both touch. Turalyon even goes through Void Portals that she opens for him. The instance in A Thousand Years of War was just because Alleria had not yet fully commanded her new powers, and it volatility manifested. She was dealing w her unstable void form.
Years later, they can touch just fine.
Also just because something is painful doesn’t mean it’s not possible. That’s literally the entire lore behind Undead Priests. That it hurts them every time they use the light. But what is being a Priest/Paladin without unyielding faith and discipline, after all?
"When undead use or are healed by the Holy Light, does it cause them any actual damage or harm, or does it only cause them pain (in addition to the intended effects of the spell)?
Channeling the Light in any way, or receiving healing from the Light, only causes pain. Forsaken priests do not disintegrate or explode from channeling the Light for an extended period of time… though they may wish they would"
h ttp://wow.gamepedia.com/Ask_CDev there are a couple of other posts but you get the idea.
I’d imagine it’s the same for Void Elves
The game has a Twilight spell school that combines Holy and Shadow, but it’s only used for a grand total of two spells: a basic bolt attack used by mobs in very early Cata, and a priest PvP talent that was removed in SL.
But it’s not a huge thing in-universe and it’s not used by the Twilight Vindicators that people here keep bringing up, who just use regular paladin spells. They didn’t change powers when they joined the Twilight’s Hammer and not every member was corrupted by the Void just because Cho’gall was, that’s another headcanon.
Invalid imo.
A gameplay argument about lore is not a good argument. The removed spell you’re referring to (Premonition) didn’t mix it either, it just dealt damage to you with Shadow and healed others with Holy.
If they want to have this kind of magic school, they have to create it from scratch. But would that make sense? An input from ‘Frostfire’:
Frostfire Bolt. After removing the fire portion of the spell, it began to feel like just another Frostbolt, and we started to wonder how a spell supposedly combining frost and fire wasn’t just producing a puddle of water at the feet of the enemy.
I’m curious if they’re giving Frostfire back to the mage now because they discovered some amazing lore to justify it, or because…
We always favor interesting mechanics over lore in-game.
At this point, it is worth noting that paladins are constantly imbued with light. So, while an undead priest only “burns” when he casts or is healed by light, a paladin’s condition is permanent. At least, I believe that was the reason why Arthas’ hammer weighed next to nothing for him. Could just be a Silver Hand thing, though.
WoW players in a nutshell:
WoD happened, BfA & Shadowlands happened… That one NPC triggers me because it’s a Void Elf. Reeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeee! I want to speak to the manager! Remove that NPC!!!
Isn’t there at least the fifth thread calling for SL to be retconned?
Time to skill your hit rating.
It’s ridiculous to get so worked up over a single NPC and to invest so much energy and time expressing your displeasure repeatedly, especially after we’ve had several expansions where the lore was completely trashed.
Sorry, but people who get so triggered by a single NPC in a game like WoW might want to step outside and get some fresh air.
Who’s “triggered” here?
Doesn’t have to stay that way.
That’s a mechanic thing. Twilight is still light and void, or at the very least a middle ground between those two.
