Void Elf Paladin - This NPC Needs Fixing

I mean, when you get hovered over in game, it says you’re a Void Elf.
So, yeah. You will always be a Void Elf.

It is what it is.
Ren’dorei are not High Elves.

Wildhammers have not been touched and modified by the void.

Just like Mechagnomes are not gnomes, they modified their bodies as well.

If you have a tentacle, you’re not normal.

I think I’ll survive LMAO

But also you aren’t prepared for what’s coming in Midnight :face_with_hand_over_mouth:

Oh fortune telling… another cognitive distortion. Why am I not surprised?

Just wait and see :face_with_hand_over_mouth:

Let’s just say I won’t be the one running to these forums to cry like you’ve been doing and will continue to do hehe

I have been for Alliance Blood Elves. I’ve said it’d be an easy trade to give Night Elves over to the Horde. I’d also love to move my Void Elf over. I would LOVE to play a Dwarf on the Horde. Though now with the Draenei Heritage set, I’d rather have him be Horde. Although, it’d be hard to give up my Blood/High Elf Warlock.

Another example of fortune telling and mind reading, because clearly you are not paying attention to what I am saying.

Or they could just literally give the Silver Covenant High Elves. It wouldn’t be hard to do.
All the looks are in game now. The only difference would need to be a racial, since they rejected mana tapping.

The Blood/High Elves don’t have mana tap anymore, it’s Arcane Torrent, and have not needed it since the restoration of the Sunwell.

The Blood/High Elves who refused to sap from living creatures still sapped arcane magic from artifacts, so they knew the skill.

Granted it’s highly unlikely, but I’ve briefly pondered Midnight turning both blood elves and void elves into “neutral” races. I have little to nothing to support this thought, but I figured it was a mildly intriguing talking point in the same vein

Yep I agree it’s unlikely, stranger things have happened though.

With the new leadership of the Horde and the extended peace, to me it wouldn’t be unimaginable they would mend their problems with the Night Elves. Many Horde folks would play Night Elves, they fit the aesthetic of the Horde IMO better anyhow.

It’d be a nice trade.

I always thought night elves would have been a great fit for the horde. Their naturalistic practices I thought would have fit nice with the orcs attempting to reconnect with their shamanistic heritage.

Arcane Torrent -is- mana tapping. The entire reason the Silver Covenant’s members were banished from Quel’thalas is due their refusal to use it.
If they were ever added, they shouldn’t have it as a racial, to show that cultural difference. Whether the latent knowledge of that ability exists within them or not. They resisted tapping sources of magic originally, even simple crystals and such. Some form of centering racial would suit them best.

Runeleaf would be better able to elucidate on why the Silver Covenant were exiled, I don’t know the reasons. I doubt it was for that.

I am confident in this because Arcane Torrent is the release of arcane energy, it is not mana tapping. The reason for the need of the release was to prevent turning wretched. Mana Tap was a different skill taught by Rommath than Arcane Torrent.

Enjoy being willfully ignorant.

It does have internal consistency. You see a problem where there is none. Void + Light doesn’t cause explosions.

This has been the case since Classic.

Learn the lore or shut up.

“Waaah the lore doesn’t fit my misconceptions!!!”

Learn the lore or shut up.

Been here longer than you Vulpera and I’ll be here after you quit.

That’s you.

“Wahh Disc priest is the worst thing to happen to this game, I DON’T LIKE NUANCE. LIGHT GOOD. VOID BAD. NO BALANCE. REEEEE”

Go back to everquest bro wow has ALWAYS had lore about balancing the light and shadow and your insane head canon doesn’t mean anything.

says the person who would rather pay 15$ a month for them to never change anything or add any new story because the slightest challenge to your preconceived ideas makes you cry.

Okay cockroach. How about you go scurry back to the rat hole you came out of and be a pest elsewhere.

Says the guy screaming that he hates change and innovation and new ideas and just wants the story to repeat the “Light beats Void good guys win” storyline for the millionth time.

Bro, you’re wrong. Get over it.

“Every power should lack nuance and be straightforward and unable to change from their rigid alignments” ISN’T grey blob soup then???

The projection is crazy.

get a life oh my lord.

“I disagree with you- you’re a bad person”

Dude. It’s a VIDEO GAME. Touch grass.

Literally delusional. They added dark ranger customization so players could play them. This is the same reason they gave high elf customization to BE and VE.

Refusing to acknowledge this because it personally upsets you that the alliance has high elves because you’re some kind of weird simp for a fictional faction is just pathetic. IT does not surprise me you don’t understand the lore.

Literally your view of the lore is: “If make alliance happy, not-canon. If make Horde happy, is canon.” it’s just sad how you complain about people being sheep then blindly view reality through the lens of a fictional tribe’s fanboy.

Undeath applies to all races, one does not change their race just because they are undead.

It’s not the same thing as being transformed, unless you are going to posit: All Trolls, Night Elves, Shal’Dorei/Nightborne, Quel/Sin’Dorei or High/Blood Elves, and Void Elves are the same race.

If you are, then your argument is true.

One does not change race just because they can wield the void either.

What transformation?

Also if you think: “Being infused with void is a greater transformation than being DEAD and coming back INFUSED WITH VOID” then you’re either an idiot or arguing in bad faith.

Undeath is a way bigger change than BE to VE.

Plenty of the Void Elf alligned elves aren’t even among the original group of elves that got tainted by the void. They’re just High Elves learning Void Magic. That’s why that customization exists.

End of story. Now find a different argument.

This tells me two things.

#1 You haven’t read the description in the character select screen.
#2 You aren’t reading or following the lore with their creation.

These are infusions, it’s interesting that the Lightforged descriptor says Infused.

No, undeath just means you’re the same race, risen as a corpse, and were prevented from dying. You aren’t transformed in to something else. When druids transform, are they a new species or not?

However you want to contort it, your viewpoint does not hold up under scrutiny.

This is speculation at this point because, other than voice and customization (and I can not reproduce Ennas’ eyes), we don’t know what it means to become a Void Elf as a Blood/High Elf yet.

It’s not the end of the story, we’re at the beginning of it.

It’s clear you are bringing up old and tired arguments that have been shown how wrong you are.

Again, if you want to say : All Trolls, Night Elves, Shal’Dorei/Nightborne, Quel/Sin’Dorei or High/Blood Elves, and Void Elves are the same race.

Then I have no qualms with you.

There are limits.

They said they will eventually let every race be every class. So sooner or later Void Elves will be able to be Paladins. I can’t see them altering this NPC. Besides, they have other non-lore NPCs that are Paladins, one is a Nelf and the other is an Undead.

Undeath is a more drastic change to the body than what Velves underwent, and I’ve always believed that Velves shouldn’t even be a race. Neither should Lightforged have been a race. They always represented something that we just can’t have in WoW due to gameplay factors, it’s a power up. A power up is something that’s a major class CD in WoW, not a permanent change you opt into, like LF and Velf. They never should have been playable in any capacity, and the fact that LF can use Shadow and Fel is just as bad as this Velf paladin.
As for the Darkfallen, they absolutely should have been their own race, or at the very least, tied to Forsaken instead of the living Elves.

And when I say “race”, I only mean in the terms that WoW presents us with. It’s not the the Darkfallen is changed racially, but they are dead. Their body is rotted, that’s why their skin is pallid. They should have a different “racial”(just the term used for an innate ability in the game) to represent that they do things different now that they’re dead, the way Forsaken have that Shadow damage racial and WoTF instead of humans’ EMFH.

Also, Tenebrae, I do not care that he said that, please do not report anything on my behalf(if you were going to, kinda reads like you intended that), as I DO NOT approve of reporting things in 99% of circumstances.
