Void Elf Paladin - This NPC Needs Fixing

I don’t see why they would be. The void skin would be the best way to go about it. You don’t have light wielding void elves and the void elves can play their own version of paladins.

Actually I suggested before that other paladin classes get their abilities personalized based on their respective race. I’d like to see for example the zandalari paladin’s damage ability involve some dinosaur-looking thing, like a t-rex claw made of light or something like that instead of a giant hammer.

You don’t speak for the Paladin community much less the overall playerbase LOL

The warlock “debacle” was overwhelmingly positive feedback across Twitter and the forums about how they appreciated Blizzard adding a fun and interesting quest line to explain the new race + class combos while also giving away new Warlock cosmetics.

YOU disliking it doesn’t mean it was a “debacle” LOL again you don’t speak for the wider community.

You can keep trying to convince yourself that your opinion is the majority but the Devs know that it’s not and that’s why they are no longer catering to it. :grimacing:

Imagine telling the creators of an IP what they can and can’t do with their lore.

Hard lore on the void is the opposite of what a paladin stands for mostly.

Void loves turtore, curruption and consumption (in fact void requires a host or to consume something to even manifest in reality) The void mostly attacks the mind rather then the physcal, and does not like empowerment, they like to mutate. This can be seen with comparisons with LFD VS VD orginal designs (How much changed between they’re former appearances such as dreanei and blood elves they where before hand before the SL retcon for customizations) The void does not like to heal and has to be forced to via great will and tremendous amount of power consumed to do so. (which is why void healing is rare to come by.) The light is the same way when it comes to raising things back from death, it does not like making undead and takes 3 sources of great holy magic to do so.

It was already mentioned in this thread the void is the exact opposite will then the light and requires a completely different mind set to use effectively at a powerful level. Let alone what it would do it your embued with the power (to be a paladin is more then just training on how to weild light magic and martial skills, you must be embued with light magic via ritual or diety)

On top of all this, a void knight (or traditionally called in fantasy eldritch knight) would be it’s own class focusing more on void lore and what the void’s effects on the world would do.

don’t have to, there is was a thread in the paladin forum discussing this already. They don’t like the idea much other then the ones going “it’s for undead and VE paladins!”

No it wasn’t. You only want it to be positive. If it was, it wouldn’t keep popping up now in a negative matter.

Imagine ignoring all the teachings of literature on making a good story and expecting the audience to be excited about it, or it’s history of breaking of the literacy of magic systems.

(btw I hate the “imagine internet memes” Stop it, it doesn’t help anything.)

You’re the only person I’ve seen negatively bring it up in months LMAO you really swear the world revolves around you don’t you :sob: its so funny

True, but the velfs aren’t pure void. They are affected by it, but they aren’t it. They use it as a tool, I don’t see why that can’t be true for a class like a void knight. A guy who uses the void, for certain things, same as shadow priests use it. They don’t really heal either lorewise.

Anyway, I’m not for or against it, to be honest, if they add it, I’m happy cause they have done something I hoped for, give paladins (and maybe other classes) the ability to personalize their class a bit more. If not, well, I don’t play velfs so I won’t be too sad about it.

Oh they do use it as a tool but they are Transformed by it as well not just “affected”. Stop minimizing what they are.

Forsaken are by and large affected by “the void/shadow.”

Still not your story. :rofl::v:

Can you say that louder to the folks who want to play Alliance Blood Elves?

That takes a lot of stretch from getting a confirmation and vague comments from a dev.

So another stupid ad hominem. Great. Not surprised, at all.

A mirror to you would be more apt. The Devs have once again affirmed the presence of Alliance Quel’dorei with a multitiude of Alliance High Elf NPCs in the War Within Alpha, from Quel’dorei Scholars in the Alliance hub, to Silver Covenant Alliance High Elf Class Trainers, and as of today even more Quel’dorei Silver Covenant Alliance NPCs who now use Void Elf hairstyles. Always lovely seeing in game representation of our High Elven members!

Alliance High Elves have been part of the Alliance questing experience for pretty much every expansion and War Within is already the same, MoP remix has really reminded me of that, I can’t wait for Midnight :hugs:

No one wants Blood Elves on the Alliance, we prefer the aesthetics, culture, and lore of our already existing Alliance High Elves and Silver Covenant allies :smiling_face_with_three_hearts:

Yes the Dalaran Blood/High Elves have been a part of WoW for a long time. Dalaran is a neutral Alliance city.

The art department is using all assets available and they are doing a marvelous job.

What’s your point exactly?

OMG is this really about the colour red?

Did he say that the Silver Covenant doesn’t exist? No.
But you’re not a High Elf, and you likely never will be, btw. You’re a Void Elf. Which is, ideologically, much more like a “Alliance Blood Elf” as that poster said.

Implying that Alliance players wanting High Elves means they want Blood Elves does indeed pretend as if there isn’t an already long established group of Alliance High Elves who have never been Horde and never been Blood Elves, actually, lol!

It’s extremely disingenous and a bad faith statement but we aren’t surprised that Galathir made one of those

I am  In the same way anyone who uses Wildhammer Dwarf customizations is a Wildhammer, or a Draenei who uses red skin is an Eredar, or a Troll who uses Sand Troll customization is a sand troll. That’s the entire point of these subrace customization options given to us

In case you missed it, this is what art director Ely Canon said about the customization options I am currently using:

"This is another place where there was a race, High Elves, in the game which hadn’t really been represented on player characters. Blood Elves were the closest, but had fel green eyes. It was an opportunity where we had a number of elven races, and we could tie it back to their roots, letting players choose where they want to align and what fantasy to play out. We did have a lot of discussion about it, ultimately we might do more in the future, but for now we’re providing the option to have a few High Elf customizations available."

:hugs:

Blood Elves are the High Elves.

https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=OjSQHefwywg

How many times does this need to be said and by the devs?

Because that’s exaclty what you’re asking for, are Alliance Blood Elves. I know you call them High Elves, however, Blood Elves are High Elves. So if you want playable ones, that’s what you’re asking for.

This is false. Void Elves are different.

Your developer quote just asserts the tradition and shared history of Void and Blood/High Elves.

A Void Elf using High Elf customization to be a High Elf is no different than a Draenei using red skin and green eyes to be an Eredar. The Devs gave us these options for those reasons as they stated. Sorry that upsets you…?

I know it sucks when we don’t get our way but you’ll be alright

Nah, you’re not. You’re a Void Elf.
They’re not Wildhammer, or Farraki trolls, or any of that. They never will be.

I mean personally I put more weight in the words of the Devs who own this game over random bitter forum users who don’t own this game, so sorry if I don’t let you affect me  have a lovely night though!

No it is not. Void Elves are a different race to Blood/High Elves.

Draenei are all Eredar, skin color and green eyes didn’t change their race. It’s funny to use this argument because you were one arguing the green eyes of the Blood Elves made them a different race.

Now you’re being facetious because individuals have given you Developer’s quotes and one is completely on record telling you the Blood Elves are the High Elves not once, but twice, and you still can’t accept reality.
