Void Elf Paladin - This NPC Needs Fixing

You know, in celebration of things like this, what people like you are?
You’re essentially the pasty tourist in a foreign land that ordered something local, and then took it back and asked for it to be less spicy.

You all celebrate and enjoy making things bland, homogenous, and worse. You’re a corporate suit’s dream, because you reduce their overhead by letting them make something with less time involvement.

I mean the Devs have both

a) said they want to open all races to all classes

b) now said the Void Elf Paladin NPC added this patch is intentionally shown to be a Paladin and to have room for (story) growth

so if that’s a “fall” to you then… yay?

The way I don’t give af :sob: :sob: I think Void Elf Paladins being wielders of the “Eclipse” and Twilight magic is cool af and expands the lore, not dilutes it. It’s called a :sparkles: difference of opinion :sparkles:

I’m sorry the Devs fundamentally agree with me and not with you but that’s not my fault :hugs:

Just remember what you said, and if it doesn’t go as you hope; don’t expect sympathy from folk. Cheers.

It will go exactly as cattle hopes, because cattle want bland, homogenized worthlessness. Cattle are what every single corporate wants consooming their product.
This is why I say they should drop all pretense of being a universe. Like that episode of Fairly Oddparents where Timmy wishes everyone was the same. That grey blob soup is what these people have been trained to enjoy and want. So make the game look like that. Untexture the models, untexture the world. Remove all the zones, just sit in a grey box room and wait for queues to pop.

Did they, where did they say that? Care to share the link?

That is hardly a confirmation of anything lmao.

I guess you can’t use reading comprehension skills then :sob: I forgot who I was talking to

Word for word:

"There were so many different possible directions we could go with Aeonara. For me, the most important aspects to get right were

  1. Cool name
    2. Clarity of what she is
  2. Good mog
    4. Room for growth
Every other detail for her had to fit into #4."

What sympathy? Most of you have yet to show a pinch of sympathy. So far people here who like the idea of void elf paladins have been either insulted, harassed or gaslighted.

You can keep your sympathy, thanks no thanks.

I do really hope that they at least give a glyph for void effects when they get made playable.

Isn’t it hilarious  they also think we need their permission to be excited or enjoy things apparently LOL

When will they realize no one cares what they think not even the Devs… :sob:

This is not a comfirmation. Just a to do list. No mention of adding lore to her or anything of the like of how she can even weild the light without harming herself.

Her title

A VE paladin with no backing on how she can even be a paladin

What armor she has on.

this can be taken in the same direction as johnny awesome. No where.

There is little to 0 clarity in that post.

both sides suck, but if anything the ones that had been against VE paladins had been more constructive then the other.

No one is here is saying we want you to have permission. The entire reason of most of the posts against VE paladins is for STORY CONSISTENCY.

Not like you guys are willing to listen to anyone who does not say exactly what you want to hear.

A to-do list of when they were MAKING the character that says they wanted it to be clear what she is (a Paladin) and that they wanted to make her ready for more/growth, which implies she will be seen again at some point (probably to explain Void Elf Paladins more in depth).

Reading skills guys cmon it’s not that hard…

I said that a Dev said the Void Elf paladin was intentional and was designed with “room for growth”. The person asked for a source. I provided. Not sure what relevance anything you are saying has to that conversation.

Womp…womp?

Well they are in the game now so…that’s awkward for you I guess?

You’re wasting your time on a bad person that’s not really worth your effort.

You didn’t read my post and your posting your selfrigheousness just recently.

Try re-reading it it includes.

johnny awesome also has room for growth. That doesn’t say anything. a npc don’t say much except “this exists” That npc is most likely is gonna do less things then johnny awesome.

So, you are choosing to double down on that then?

awkward for everyone, not just me. Only a select few like yourself don’t care.

Perhaps.

Yes. Void Elf Paladins are officially canon. Womp womp.

Telling yourself that you’re the majority does not make it true. The majority of players want class race restrictions lifted. Blizz knows this and thus has been working on it steadily. The end.

Ok. Had they explained on the why’s and how’s? Which is what we have been talking about for the last 500+ posts? The call out is the story inconsistency. You are just trying to spin it otherwise.

Keep telling yourself that. The paladin community is not excited for this other then a few that wants paladins to have a void skin because “just cause”

Learn hard magic systems in literacy, it will explain why people are up in arms about such a change.

The warlock debacle says otherwise. People that did not support that either tuned off the story blizz is spinning, or just plain old left. Story and context matters, and if blizz keep going down the deep end, espaicially when they are being threatened by other companies where their talent went, the worse this is going to get for them.

They need to have a good explaination for this, and it better be a better one then eredar joining dreanei just cause they feel sorry.

I like how this tweet confirms my original assumption that this is the work of a single (or possibly two) quest designer. Combined with the recent interview, which made it clear that pre-production on new Paladins hasn’t even begun or is planned, it suggests that these details have not been signed off from above.

In other words: There is always a bigger fish. We’ll see, but… curb your enthusiasm.

Well, that didn’t go so well. The dialogue rather suggests she’s an astronomer or something.
