None of that lore says a Void Elf can’t use the light.
The only thing close to it, is that Alleria felt pain when touching her husband after using Void magic.

I already knew Void Elf paladins were coming, just like for the Forsaken.
You’re arguing with yourself with that.
That is not lore, that is gameplay. No where is there story of a Void Elf “Discipline” priests. We see Umbric with arcane/void, a frost mage, warlock, warrior, monk, and Riftwardens.
That’s not “lore.”

No where is there a story saying they can’t use the light.
But there is flavor text saying they use both hand in hand now in game.

What NPCs saying they are “discipline” priests ? You’re making that up because each race has a very different concept of priest.

When even Alonsus Faol and the Forsaken can use the light and they feel more then pain, or what about DKs or DHs?
No lore says they can’t.
I already told you that the new Voidlight Void Elf in Telogrus says she uses both.
and we have a Void Elf Paladin who uses Twilight Light.

Oooh that one. She says there should be a balance yes. We don’t see what that means though. Just like the Paladin says stars shine brighter when it’s dark. (And we’re assuming she’s a Paladin see Zandalari Prelates)
That story and lore is building. Be patient. Just stop confusing class mechanics for “lore.”

Lightforged are essentially light beings, void elves is essentially void beings. Light and void cannot exist in the same space, the powers clash, so it hurts them. sometimes fataly.
Until this retcon this patch.
Please go look up alleria’s short story, and the light novel talking about the events before BFA.

Yeah cause it was hard to just give the paladin spells a purple glow instead of a golden one and simply call the poor girl a void knight instead of a paladin.

Not all can, that’s what makes Alonsus Faol very special.
It’s better this way.
Otherwise they would have to do even more retcons to explain why all the sudden the void is caring and able to heal easily (not that it can’t, it just takes allot of power and void’s will bending to do it.)
Even then, there was story quotes where alonsous foal hates himself for the incredible pain he feels each time he uses his magic.
But it wouldn’t be. I mean not lorewise. Because lorewise paladins and Sunwalkers don’t have the same abilities or Prelates and Blood Knights. Healing abilities are there for gameplay purposes and nothing else, just painted purple to look the part.

But then you try to sweep the one saying she uses both under the rug.

No where does it say they can’t.
are you aware of Forsaken feeling thier skin burn alive, bugs crawl inside of them, and smelling rotten flesh from using the light. But they still do.
He literally teaches others to connect to the light in his storylines.
What one? You keep saying things without citing or providing any evidence.

He tries to teach that there’s more ways than just the Shadow yes. I’ve read the story. It’s a big part of Calia being who she is.
When they make NPCs of the Forsaken, we still don’t see them making “Holy/Discipline Priests.”
people clamours to forsakens/void elves using light magic dispite the lore saying otherwise, same with LFD and shadow spec.
What do you think they would do with “purple” light.
There is already too much confusion as it is, let’s not add in to it with the sudden retcon to void magic lore further then it not being destructive to light users.
They are ordinary paladins now.
This may have an arguement, but there is nothing to support they don’t have the same abilities.
There is a differnce in imbueing yourself with magic and channeling it. Paladins are embueed with the magic, meaning that void elf paladins both have void energies and holy energies inside of their bodies. Lore says they would be destroyed if they did that.
Penence is also a holy spell that is channeled (priests channels spells, paladins melds light magic within themselves into a weapon)
This is a retcon. nothing short of it.
Very much I do, which is why I do not support forsaken paladins. The pain from being a paladin alone is more then that they would be from being a priest temperarily channeling the light.
Remember, blizz is doing retcon gymnastics just to make you guys happy.

It took 2 powerful priests and a naaru using their full access to the light to raise calia. This is not a normal thing the light does.
Remember my comment earlier about the void not naturally healing unless bent to do so with great amount of power from it to do so? Applies here.

So you can stop trying to gaslight me, and act as if I haven’t provided you with the information.
We actually do see some Disc priests.
You’re full of crap, not a SINGLE piece of lore says they’d be destroyed for using both.
Quit with your headcannon BS or cite it.
They’re not retconning anything that hasn’t been in the lore for several years.
