Technically speaking there is nothing in the lore.that prevents this. If anything might be slightly uncomfortable for them. You act like shadow/void naaru haven’t existed since TBC
Lightforged Draenei Warlocks use the Void. A dev even mentioned that in a Twitter video when Lightforged Warlocks came out.

He talks about it about 30 seconds in.
“The biggest implications for players familiar with our lore are Lightfroged Draenei, that’s the big one. And then obviously, because all of Warlocks’ powers are predicated upon kind of Fel and Void usage, how does that jive?”
I guess not then. And before you say that the gameplay doesn’t always fit the lore, you did bring up Disc peiests as if they’re a canon spec.
I’m friends with many of them and none of them reject this premise? They simply want to play as the group of high elves that, to this day, refer to themselves as high elves and not blood elves, and (most of them) are aligned with the Alliance or with forces that are sympathetic to the Alliance. That’s not difficult to understand.
I don’t think you and others are understanding the idea of what myself and others are asking when we say we want Void Elf “Paladins”
We want a class that plays like a Paladin, but are very well accepting that the class cannot be, lore wise, a Paladin.
In the constrictions of the game the class would play and look by manor of spells just like a Paladin, but by rights of the story and canon elements not be a Paladin but rather a Knight of the Void (or whatever fancy name you want)
Where has it actually been stated and shown in game that void + light = violent explosion?
The only time I can remember specifically was the issues between Alleria and Turalyon, but it was only them.
I specifically remember seeing in a book a void elf taking a lightforged draenei through a void portal, and only showed mild discomfort that the void portal actually let them out.
I don’t really care about high elves. I do like them and have a couple of characters, but that’s it, so I’m far from being a “fan”.
I am besties with a few high elf fans and we have daily conversations about them lol so yeah, no, not sure what you’re talking about.
Also, I’m not interested in this:
No “us” vs. “them” with me, please. This is ridiculous. We are all adult players and love this game equally, don’t promote this childish tribalism, please.
Likely during the Nightborne allied race intro questline, where Alleria is allowed to visit the Sunwell and when she touches it, an explosion occurs. But we’re not even sure it was her or just a void entity that “used” her connection to the Void to appear where she was.
Pretty much, yeah. Otherwise disc priests would have blown up since day 1 lol
In any case, it seems clear that void + light do not explode when in contact as per the latest patch, with the introduction of this new void elf paladin.
It’s funny. To think I found it abhorrent and stupid in the past, and now I’m actually growing fond of the idea of a velf pala.
A few situations had them react negatively. A few situations had them not react negatively, like… The entire discipline priest experience for instance. There is not a hard rule that this is the reaction. I could just as easily say Fel and Arcane explode together because I hit Jaina with a chaos bolt.
Blizzard is clearly going in a direction that is apostate to the old canon. I think it’d help to validate this with those who are arguing these points. I also see old vendettas at play too.
I’m waiting to see where they go. After all, Forsaken Paladins are a’ comm’n.
