Doesn’t this mean that LF draenei shouldn’t be able to be shadow priests or warlocks or use shadow disc abilities?
Please correct me if I’m wrong, but since the allied race was released, LF Draenei have always been able to be shadow priests, so this whole void elves can’t be paladins thing makes no sense to me.
Not a fact, so, already off to a bad start. This is an assumption based on the lack of canon Void Elves wielding the Light. That in and of itself is not proof that the Void Elves cannot wield the Light.
Also not a fact.
Lightforged Draenei can make use of Void Rifts without exploding. Source: Shadow’s Rising. There’s also Naaru whom transition between Darkened and Light states without causing explosions.
This is also not a fact.
Alleria never touched the Sunwell. She only came within spitting distance of it, and in the most recent short story, she describes basking in it’s Light to be a very pleasant experience.
Sargeras, a being of order, is infused with Fel magic. No annihilation.
Ardenweald straight up EXISTS.
This idea that opposites react the way matter and anti-matter would has been proven wrong time and time again. That some powers don’t get along is nothing new, but it used to be the undead burned in pain when exposed to the Light, but now we’ve got Lightforged Draenei Death Knights and Calia Menethil walking around.
I think there is a common ground in terms of logical conclusions.
Do you refer to the blood knights?
The part with the chosen one doesn’t ring any bells. Who do you mean?
If a writer can manage that, sure. But I doubt it is possible in a satisfactory manner.
Experience tells me that there will be an NPC talking about a double-sided coin or something, and that’s it.
General Tiras’alan says: Why do you suffer the presence of this despicable Lady Liadrin? She and her followers distort the Light and make a mockery of all we stand for! A’dal says: Patience, general. The Light embraces all who enter Shattrath in good faith. A’dal says: You are welcome in Shattrath, Lady Liadrin. We have long awaited your arrival. Lady Liadrin says: Thank you for allowing me to speak, A’dal. I know many of your allies despise me and my knights for our treatment of M’uru. Lady Liadrin says: When he was given to us by ‘Prince’ Kael’thas, we believed his power would help lead our people into a new age. Lady Liadrin says: I’ve come to realize our path was a false one. We were betrayed by the man we called our prince. In his lust for power, he sent the felblood to attack us, and spirit M’uru away to the Sunwell. A’dal says: Both our peoples suffered greatly at the hands of Kael’thas and his agents, Lady Liadrin. Your people were not the authors of their own fate, but they will die if they do not change. A’dal says: M’uru accepted his role in this long ago, knowing full well what would happen to him. Will you accept your own? Lady Liadrin says: I… I don’t understand. You – and M’uru – knew all along that this would occur? A’dal says: It wasn’t I who foretold it, but Velen of the Draenei: A’dal says: ‘Silvery moon, washed in blood,’ A’dal says: ‘Led astray into the night, armed with sword of broken Light.’ A’dal says: ‘Broken, then betrayed by one, standing there bestride the sun.’ A’dal says: ‘At darkest hour, redemption comes, in knightly lady sworn to blood.’ Lady Liadrin says: I see it clearly now. I renounce my loyalties to House Sunstrider and its false prince. Lady Liadrin says: I pledge the blades of my Blood Knights to the defeat of Kil’jaeden and the restoration of Silvermoon. Lady Liadrin says: We will fight beside you, A’dal. A’dal says: The Shattered Sun Offensive will surely benefit from the addition of your knights, Lady Liadrin. General Tiras’alan walks over to Lady Liadrin as A’dal speaks to give her a Tabard of the Shattered Sun, which she puts on. A’dal says: The battle for the Sunwell is but the first step on your new path, Lady Liadrin. Shattrath is open to you and all who follow you.
She literally got Chosen One’d before the Sunwell’s restoration. Ancient Prophecy, etc etc.
I’m not sure why there’s such a reluctance to let the PC be the pioneer for something for once instead of following along in someone else’s footsteps. Let the PC be the first success, let the PC have some prestige.
Yeah, you’ll have your edgelord cringeplayers and whatnot. If it really annoys you, just /ignore them and move on, they’re not hurting anyone otherwise as long as they keep it within TOS.
What about discipline priests? The 3 (M’uru, Priest hall, Argus dungeon boss, maybe there are more) N’aaru who were void-touched and didn’t explode? We wielded powers taken from N’zoth, and didn’t explode during the descent into Ny’alotha. The Legion had mages who were Manari despite those being opposites. Doesn’t seem like Gameplay / Story segregation, so much as people presuming things which are not accurate, and then demanding the game conform to the incorrect assumptions.
There shouldn’t be a recoloring because light and void abilities do not manifest the same.
Insisting that our characters are non canon and they can only canonically use the void is a false dichotomy.
You say since alleria got her abilities a different way should still make her the same as void elves, I am of the opinion that a dark narru inside her changes things, she is also a lot different from the void elves we have so that should also be considered.
Light and darkness have shown to be able to be used together.
I LOVE Callia’s model!! HEAR ME OUT! It opens the door to a new race called Lightbound Undead, SOLELY for the Horde, of extra sexy looking Humans as pale as Callia with lit white eyes and shiny hair, looking a bit ghostly, as if they are dwelling somewhere between life and death! No more bony-undead, Callia should open the door to HORDE HUMANS in a special way like this.
Ahem back to the Void elf discussion. I JUST REMEMBERED SOMETHING AND IT KIND OF CLICKS! WHAT IF… That Void elf Paladin NPC’s void mace ACTS as a VESSEL for this NPC’s void powers?! THUS, they are contained in the vessel and she remains uncorrupt until she unleashes them again, which means she can wield light-based abilities while the Void is contained in her mace?!!
There was no explosion. Her being near the Sunwell was an ANCHOR to the Void, so that they could manipulate the sunwell. By Alleria being present. As if her body were a portal.
Actually they can. Just like Lightforged can use the Void.
We see NPCs doing this in Legion.
The ONLY thing that happens is that there is in immense pain when Alleria and Turalyon touch.
But to be clear, Forsaken Holy Priests feel immense Pain, they smell thier skin burning, and they can feel bugs crawling in them.
Wait until you see the Lightforged Undead in the xpack. They use the light, even though it causes them pain. The lore is they find a way to deal with the pain using the light causes them.
I mean, I’m a void priest. No one’s complaining about that. Pallys are just priests in a can. I see no issue with it.
