Void Elf-High Elf Customization Thread

It sets the precedent of “the void will eventually turn you blue”, which I hate narratively.

People can argue against my golden eyes on a warlock that doesn’t change my story for my warlock nor do I feel it takes away from him or my player agency of available options. The options you’re using in game as of now are always going to be valid.

I’ve said it before and I’ll say it again and again, Void Elves are void based so they should have to show to some degree that they are void infused, it’s also why I said even with normal hair colors they should only work on void skintones and not normal ones if they are ever added.

How about if it just effects her hair? She voids out and when she switches back everything but her hair returns to normal. Her hair however remains that unnatural glowing white color.

I would be okay with only her hair showcasing the void like permanent void hair, that was my original like but I like the perma void form too.

I’d argue against this based on precedent.

Currently the only options that are limited in player creation are for hero classes.

I’d rather they didn’t start putting in additional restrictions, as I don’t trust them not to make certain restrictions arbitrary. Lots of games have nonsense restrictions on things like that, and I don’t see why Blizzard would utilize that sort of thing differently.

I understand the desire for it, and can even see the utility for it in certain ways, but the precedent it would set worries me too much to agree with it.

I’ll be honest, I’m biased here because I find the blue skins silly. Tell me they didn’t only choose blue because they’re Alliance? Void was never blue before. Heck, they look like Draenei.

I’d be fine with this, especially if players get the unnatural white hair alongside it.

Why, if you choose to play a Void Elf you are playing a Void Elf, why should you be able to play as a full Blood Elf without actually playing a Blood Elf?

Why, I preferred Void Elves that way and I still think the normal skintones being added was a mistake and the wrong direction.

That doesn’t really address the precedent of restricting customization options based on what other options you use.

I’d honestly they rather not add them than set that precedent going forward.

If they wanted void skins, why didn’t they go with something that actually looks Voidy?

To hear you talk, you wouldn’t want anything added that would restrict what you think it shouldn’t, I disagree sorry, you can’t have your cake and eat it too.

Because you would have still complained about it, case and point this thread and all the others.

So you’d be fine if they took away your gold eyes from your warlock, since they go against the theme?

Several human options already are. Mostly relating to facial hair.

Sure, if they take away from you fully anything that’s Blood Elf based. We will trade, you get nothing and I’ll give up my golden eyes.

I love that hair color, and yes with less of the pinkish purple undertones. But I 100% would love to see that color made available for Void Elfs, along with a bunch of others. I do find it annoying that they have two hair colors that are like the same exact thing. They should change one of those to that color.

I don’t know how you got this from my post. I said I don’t want the precedent of needless restrictions on options. We get few enough of them as it is. I wouldn’t want additional restrictions tacked on top of that.

I have no horse in the race of Void Elves getting any additional “natural” options, and in fact support additional void options for them.

I don’t see how this applies to me at all.

I think you’ve misunderstood what I’ve said, if your reply is any indication.

I mean, I can’t help but read this as anything but spite.

I know you’re a nice person, but this topic seems to get you a bit too heated.

Which ones specifically? I’m not being the “source” guy, I’m curious.

I know about the ethnicity ones, but I gave them a pass since that only seems to apply to humans right now, so it feels like an exception.

Almost every reply you send to me on this topic talks about how you don’t think this should be restricted or that should be restricted, that’s where I get it.

It’s not spiteful to think if you want to be a Blood Elf you should actually play one. I feel people that play Blood Elves have the options we have because we actually play them, Void Elves aren’t Blood Elves so they shouldn’t have the same options, plus they are void corrupted.

I do play blood elves. I’m going to main this one in 9.1.

What makes you think your opinion on thematics is more valid than mine?
