The void visual theme was tacked on for visual differentiation. Alleria has no need to have that, she’s an NPC, and most of her visual theme is replicateable by player void elves anyway.
It’s because I actually think that. If the lore was that gaining void powers gave you blue skin, she would’ve had that as soon as she got the powers.
If they change how she looks, it won’t stop the requests, so it’s pointless from that angle. It will however make the look I’m using right now feel a little less valid. I don’t headcanon this character as an unvoided high elf. I view her as a void elf.
Besides, even if they change how she looks, I’ll still be able to look like I do now, and I’m happy with the look I have. I’m not opposed to this as some weird helfer desperation. I just think it would be bad from a lore perspective. That’s it.
Then that should be the argument everyone has and yet some people say they want her appearance regardless of her NPC status and 90% of ability to achieve it isn’t good enough.
Changing her I think benefits two fan groups VE/BE and if HE fans don’t benefit I mean half of them said they aren’t keeping track of “wins” anyways so it is what it is.
I don’t think it makes you any less valid, they can change Alleria and finally comment on the Wayfarers in the rift, you could never be Alleria there is only one and she’s an NPC, but perhaps you could be a Wayfarer, that doesn’t make them any less valid, they just will not expand on natural hair colors for players.
Alleria changing shouldn’t change the ability to feel like a Wayfarer.
Not everything that should happen in lore or storylines happens right off the bat, I should have had blue and golden eyes and I didn’t until more recently.
That’s not why I said I wanted it, others might want that for that, I was very specific other day that I want it because I feel she should look like Void Elf leader because she’s supposedly the Void Elf leader.
And that’s completely fine with me, like I said I would accept your answer regardless and I do.
Are you accusing me of not being a void elf fan because I don’t use blue skin? Because that’s how this comes across.
It doesn’t, but there aren’t any named Wayfarers either. Also, if they change Alleria, it means my look is canonically temporary, which I hate the idea of.
I’m not accusing you of anything I’m saying who I think it benefits and who might be in the group who takes issue with it. You can exist outside of that entirely with your own reasons for liking or disliking an idea?
Are you saying no HE fan would take issue with this idea on the principle of just being a HE fan who is using Alleria to push more ideas?
You yourself allude to the group I referenced yet somehow you think I inferred you were in said group?
I’m talking about overall this is who I think objects and who it benefits, you’ve already stated why you object.
I think it benefits VE fans regardless of what skin tone your using? I literally never even mentioned the options you use on your character other than you’d still be valid in your choices.
If another horde fan said it benefited the horde to have her gone I’m not going to be mad like they accused me of not liking the Horde. I get what they mean.
Changing Sylvanas from the night elf model made her start to look like Sylvanas.
Alleria doesn’t really have that issue.
Back in vanilla I never thought Sylvanas looked like she even remotely did in WCIII.
Alleria doesn’t suffer from that.
Sure is pretty though…
Wish we had heritage weapons.
Alleria is an established npc not a player character. It’s not quite the same thing especially since the high elf options were for RP, or at best not representative of the average void elf we see.
This. I agree it feels like it’s only point would be to annoy people who are interested in helf options.
Well sure, and they should.
That doesn’t make it any better does it?
Umbric is a far better choice for improved character model and to be focused on as an actual leader.
He represents the void elves far more.
I think this is where you lose me.
Blizzard isn’t interested in sending any messages.
She doesnt? So Alleria the first VE looks like Alleria the VE? Or Alleria the HE they call a VE?
Can we get a side by side of Tyrande before and after NW?
So you would be more of an advocate of killing Alleria off then?
So you would argue they are interested in clarity? Wasn’t the quote about if you want a blue eyed blonde haired elf the horde is waiting… that never explicitly said no but it sure implied a message? But you said they don’t do that or aren’t interested? Updating a model if they value visual distinction does send a message if you want to acknowledge it as one when the time comes is up to you.
I totally agree and that’s why I brought it up the other day, I mean really and like I have said a few times she’s supposedly void infused and the leader of the Void Elves but she doesn’t look it or represent it properly, it’s like step up or step down either way would work for me.
I agree they won’t stop asking for/demanding blonde hair even if Alleria loses hers to a more void aesthetic. What I think the win might be to them is They will no longer be able to say. We deserve blonde hair because of Alleria, Alleria’s the Void Elf Leader she has blonde hair we deserve blonde hair too. Blizzard give us Allerie’s blonde hair we deserve it. I think the pro’s not being able to use Alleria to demand the hair like some do could be considered as a win to some. It will never stop them from asking/demanding but they wouldn’t be able to use Alleria as their reason for getting it. Their reason would then just be we want blonde hair simply because we want it. Just as I want fel options simply because I want them.
I would add I don’t think this is a bad thing, nor is it to want Alleria to look more Void. I think the void constantly effecting her is an ongoing storyline which funnily enough
Nicos stance on getting the hair actually feels better applied on changing Alleria since the Void story can always change her at any moment from the devs, and if they change her model and still haven’t done natural hair options, well it won’t stop the request of course, but we know we’ll all still be here discussing the topic
