Void Elf-High Elf Customization Thread

I worded that poorly. I meant anyone who had ever been a Farstrider at any point in their life.

Blood elves wearing blue look wannabe Alliance. There, I said it.

Somand has more than five times pointed it out.

The Farstriders as an organization are a Quel’thalas thing, but not all of them remained. Vereesa and much of the SC come to mind.

There isn’t any reason some Farstriders didn’t go along with the exiled blood elves who became void elves, which explains our hunters.

The two groups are too close timeline wise not to have farstrider and arcane tattoos reasonably.

I do draw the line beyond that though myself, as I don’t want too much shared and don’t feel that Pheonix, runic, or light and fel should be transferred.

Also I want that blood magic theme expanded for belves…

Yeah… Bugs me when people on either side try to twist it into being something else.

Helf folk seem to often be… Confused… About where Alleria’s tattoos come from. Frustrating.

I’m honestly not married to the colors. Fine by me.

We were literally just blood elves.

Did we tear our skin off?

I’m not married to the colors.

You ignore what we are. We were blood elves less than two years ago. Tattoos aren’t removed by exposure to void.

I prefer to go with what makes sense for void elves.

Let them.

High elves are likely returning to the Blood Elves and Quel’thalas. Some will bring their tattoos with them.

Oh I certainly don’t oppose blue options on blood elves. I just likely won’t use them because to me they scream “I wish I was playing an Alliance high elf right now, so I’ll just play a blood elf and pretend I’m Alliance”. I’ve seen way too many people do this with blue on blood elves and now I just can’t unsee it.

I don’t extend this to the eyes, because they’re just eyes. That being said I never have used them yet.

You mean madame “I’m not a member of the Farstriders and don’t command a field army but call myself a Ranger-General”?

I know she’s a ranger, but has it ever been confirmed she was a Farstrider?

I have to imagine every Thalassian ranger was a Farstrider at some point. All of them were part of the organization before the fall of Quel’thalas, were they not?

Yes, in Day of the Dragon she was mentioned as being a reckless, inexperienced Farstrider.

It is mentioned that she did not take an active part in the Second War, presumably due to her inexperience.

I get that.

I have a blood elf who is a high elf who was sent as a spy for SI:7 but then ends up becoming a double agent for the Shattered Hand…

He’s a former farstrider who left when the blood elves initially joined the Horde, became a SC member got sick of that leading up to the purge left and stuck around SW until he was offered the spying job.

If farstrider tattoos were a thing I might consider blue for him just for where he came from…

That man though isn’t pretending (anymore) to be a blood elf. He is one again. Lol

No, actually.

Rangers are just veteran archers and make up a major part of the Thalassian military’s line troops.

Farstriders are the very tippy top echelons of the rangers.

Ah, so just the upgraded units, basically?

I think Lance already answered but I believe she is mentioned to be a relatively young one in day of the dragon?

Might be one of the other books.

More like paladin → knight → footman.

Where are rogues in this echelon structure

Nowhere, as rogues usually are.

The old RPG mentioned there were some rogues who were Farstriders, but that’s not cannon anymore.

They seem to be scouts if they’re involved in the military at all.

Spies too likely.

I have a “high elf” rogue who I use as though that’s what she is.

She used to be a SC member but I got tired of that story (it’s always they leave in disgust after the Purge) and have recently changed her to be a highvale high elf who is working with the alliance.

so appropriating more blood elf culture?

this is what you are now and the people you represent

pretty much actually

void elves have a chance to be their own thing and i hope and do expect blizzard to expands more on that aesthetic instead of more blood elf stuff to satisfy an extreme few

That would be correct.

However she was an entry level Farstrider during the second war (and did not fight) and doesn’t seem to have been anywhere close to a ranger-general.

i always considered blood elf rogues/warriors as farstrider types

I always assumed belf warriors were royal guards or something.

For there being no more royalty in Quel’thalas, that would be an awful lot of royal guards.

(Yes, I know they guard the Blood Elf leaders, just being silly.)
