Void Elf-High Elf Customization Thread

No country can get even more 3rd world with internet than Australia. Ugh, speaking about us Aussies being slow…

Yeah, I saw that too, and I thought it was really good.

Doubt it. But it wasn’t a matter of speed, it was a matter of not even having a connection for 6 days.

Also… about that thing about me quoting fake lore (Yep… I still remember).

You know who also remembers? Pepperidge farms remembers.

(I doubt she will ever give an answer to this lol.)

Y’all got amazing accents though! (Am American)

Exactly, it didn’t matter even before the skin tones happened. In lore only Paladin/Priest Blood Elves should have Golden Eyes but they gave them to all player BEs as a choice regardless.

It shows that lore will not hinder what customization options are given (it honestly appears to only be a fall back when Blizzard does not want to give something in the ‘now’).

I have heard that a lot from people. But as an Australian, our accents just feels… normal if that is a way to put it.

Well, here is still hoping for more High Elf customisations for Void Elves then. Oh, can’t wait for what the future holds for more customisations.

Natural Hair Colours, Tatoos, More Hair styles too.

Hi all,

I have been following the US threads on Void Elves for a while now and have finally decided to give my own input.

I’m a big fan of Void Elves myself, I enjoy their concept and lore (albeit short). However, as I have expressed in the past I do have an issue with the lack of variety on their hair colors. That’s where my own biggest issue lies. However, I do not mind in the slightest the Void Elves receiving unique colour shades and hairstyles to Blood Elves for the sake of maintining uniqueness. With that in mind, we must understand that this is not something everyone agrees with, and given the seer colour variety available to Blood elves, it is inevitable that some shades will look similar, like White, Black and Blonde, as those are universal hair colours that are very versatile and should be in place for all races.

With the above in mind I have compiled some inspirational hair colour ideas, as well as other features, that I would like to suggest on here in an attempt to show that it is possible to combine uniqueness with variety while still adhering to the Void theme.

Without further ado, let’s get to the suggestions!

Glad to see you like void elves, but I disagree on the natural hair color request for them.

Hi there, that’s understandable that you might not support all options on there, but bare in mind I have tried to keep the thoughts of those who oppose natural hair colors in mind when making that post. The Void is not only manifested through hair colour. It also can be through the skin, the eyes and markings. I actually really like the concept of void highlights as well, and I think highlights can become a new trend not just for Void Elves but for other races as well.

I’m rather more fond of this one to fulfill a void based blonde.

Yep that’s the same blonde shade as the one on the light skin tone (I’ve seen both), but to opt for a more Voidy look these two can certainly be combined

I much prefer unnatural hair colors that like fen linked, it is blonde, but not a natural one at all. I just do not think void elves should inherit the blood elf look 100% due to not only the nature of how they became VE’s in lore, but to honor blood elf players.

Ad for highlights, I would like a starcursed one personally.

Some Void hair void gassy effects would be nice too.

Would be nice if there are non tentacle ones at least.

A void elf without void features is basically a blood elf.

If you don’t want tenticles, mayhap request another void theme appearance?

We already have non-tentacle hair.

A toggle for tentacles is a void based option coming from what we started with.

However RPer’s use it.

Sorry fen, but removing tenticle with no other void theme is basically letting ppl play BE on alliance.

They should not allow that to happen. And if they can’t do that while adding hair colors, then they shouldn’t add new colors at all.

So long as those hair colors are unnatural in their design, it wont cause any issues. Even if they did add the hair colors the toggle is not the same thing. Its a separate request.

Tentacle Toggles are a valid void based request. Always have been.

Anyone who says otherwise isn’t interested in Void Elves.

Its no different than the High Elf folk who aren’t interested requesting non void things. Its just the opposite direction. If you’re requesting a tentacle toggle to allow you to change void elves into high elves and not just because its an option for Void Elves proper, or if you’re denying the option because you don’t want people to have the potentiality for blood elf looking void elves you’re doing the same thing.

All it does it hurt Void Elves to support your own cause.

Fen. You of all people should know this statement is not true.

People advocating for tenticle off toggles is not interested in the void theme. They want BE on the alliance, strictly because they in the story would be blood elves unaffected by the void ritual at all. This harms the void theme even with different hair colors.

I’ll be in the middle ground and say the toggle, while possible, would only work when used with the more unnatural colors.

And you know this is not a fair thing to say. The more ways for them to look like something they’re not, is not something that benefits them.

Yeah. It is.

The only reason people are against it is because they’re against high elves.

We already have this option. It’s a void elf expansion of what we already possess. Having it gives us the option to actually have tentacles on all our hairstyles, or not. It’s not a high elf option. It didn’t appear with the skin tones it was there from day one.

Claiming otherwise isn’t any different than those who only want it so they can look like high elves.

Like I said. No different.

If you’re interested in tentacle toggles only to look like a high elf, you’re not interested in void elves for that option.

If you’re against it because you don’t want us to look like blood elves or high elves, you’re not interested in void elves for that option.

There is no reason that void elves baseline shouldn’t have the toggle.

It doesn’t make us look like something we’re not.

We’ve always had the choice. The toggle just applies it to all our hair options.

People who want a braid replacement are the ones seeking high elf options.

A yes or no toggle is a void option.

I’ll admit I’m being much too black and white with my initial words. Many simply don’t want us to look like blood elves and see it as devaluing.

I’m just tired of having to fight for things we already possessed before getting natural skin tones.
