Void Elf-High Elf Customization Thread

They literally redid all of Stormwind with new races and new customization Humans, they could do the same with High Elf NPC’s to Void Elf NPC’s.

Then this ended up where it is for no reason because I was originally replying to you about her being changed and NPC’s being changed where ended up here because it was steered there.

Right, in Stormwind that would make sense. Or anywhere else that occurs in a time after Void Elves existed. Like I said.

But outside of it, it wouldn’t as Void Elves didn’t exist when those zones are time-locked.

If they update the zones and have those NPCs now become Void Elves as a continuation of the story, great.

Otherwise it would just be odd and make no sense.

I mean, I wouldn’t really complain if they did, I just think it would be odd and a bit pointless.

But void elves didn’t exist in BC Outland or Cata Quel’Danil, so that would be lore breaking.

If they revamp it, or counting new stuff going forward, I would prefer the utilize void elves over high elves.

I disagree with you on this too but I see where you’re coming from.

I just truly in my heart of hearts think it would bring the benefit of peace of mind that visual distinction will remain in place, if it remains in place and they do nothing with Alleria you still can’t look like her anyways? I think it’s valid to want to see Alleria changed, my least favorite route would be them just doing the “we meant to do this” route but I wouldn’t be mad at it but I can see why others would, but with justified reasoning to bring Alleria in line with what a VE is as well as advocating for the route to have justified story at the adapting and new VE lore I think it could work.

I’m okay with us disagreeing though of course but it’s not coming from a bad place on either side I know :hugs:

Why does it make sense? It was legit just NPC’s that have been there from the start of the game until now with skintones changed, looks changed, etc. that’s all a Void Elf is from a High Elf is a look change.

Lots of things are lore breaking, I’m lore breaking because I’m a Blood Elf Warlock with golden eyes.

That doesn’t make them good. MoP Garrosh in Wrath areas bugs the heck outta me.

Yeah, but you’re cute so you get a pass.

Because the zones themselves are time-locked, so there really is no reason to change it, since they explicitly occur in the past, before Void Elves existed.

Also, are you talking a blanket change?

Some of the Allerian Hold High Elves could have joined the Horde, or at least might not have joined the Alliance. We still don’t know what Auric is doing.

Would they void him up, or would it be a case-by-case basis?

I am still… amused… that when they they added void elves, they threw in more high elves in Stormwind too.

and yet we have no concrete lore on how they feel about each other

To be honest, the existence of high elves has filled me with rage since Wrath.

The Silver Covenant was a truly pointless inclusion. I say that as someone who likes them.

It would have been nice if they shared dialogue, with the high elf expressing interest in the void or something.

That would have been a good way to show some high elves studying the void.

Lol, fair enough.

Also thanks, we haven’t been passing hearts back and forth today as much as we usually do but you for sure get one for saying that. :hugs: :hugs: :hugs:

I won’t lie I haven’t thought that far ahead because I was literally just point out my opinion, I didn’t think I’d end up where we are now on this exactly subject. Actually more recently it’s very rare I talk about this topic unless it ends up off topic then I talk more. Haha.

For sure.

Humans would have been perfectly fine as the generic foil to Blood Elves. There’s enough animosity between the two.

And failing that, Dwarves! Legolas and Gimli’s rivalry, but deadly!

I’m mad they’re not gnomes every time.

Those are valuable NPC slots that could have been an underloved, underutilized Alliance race, and yet Bliz was like “lolhigh elf”, and here we are.

That would’ve been a good way to get gnomes some needed screen time, yes.

The thing I always thought was, Dalaran is primarily a human kingdom, so why wasn’t it just humans?

I’m the same way.

I’m more active when I’m being silly than when I’m actually debating points anymore.

I don’t think the high elf demand would have gotten so enthusiastic if Blizzard didn’t keep adding more of the damn things repping the Blue on the regular.

That’s what I never understood.

High Elves were never necessary to add, except Allerian Stronghold being a WC2 throwback I guess.

Every instance after that could have been a different race and accomplished the same thing, only without making a bunch of people want essentially Horde Blood Elves.

I’m sure people would still be asking for them, but I doubt as many would even know of their existence if they hadn’t have kept adding them expansion after expansion.

My main issue with this topic is I want all my friends to get what they want but it’s hard to do that because you all want different things and yes I am extremely grateful we are all on the same page about Nightborne model and Nightborne customizations because personally that matters to me but this topic is a lot harder because I want Blood Elves to still be unique and not exactly 100% copied to Void Elves.

Exactly.

I first learned about high elves in BC, when I only played Horde. I heard Alliance high elves were a thing and thought “that’s weird, why can’t they play as them?” Then I saw the population argument and was like “ok, that makes sense”.

Then I started playing Alliance in Wrath, and was just like “omg why? You just shot your best argument in the foot!”

If you show something regularly as part of the faction, even if they’re few and far between, people are going to want them.

I’d sell my void elves AND blood elves for a Revantusk skin for my trolls in a heartbeat, and the Revantusk barely get touched on.

But they’re in the Horde and I want to play one, goshdarnit.
