Everyone says this game would be dead for this reason or that reason, it hasn’t and doesn’t happen, I find it would be unlikely in this circumstance as well because why it’s just customization, if people like me can play a second rated Nightborne with no customizations and still keep playing Void Elves could go back to being full void looking with nothing normal, it won’t kill them.
If they remove the blood elf skins from void elves, I will quit the game instantly and never look back.
Why? Because it would prove they’re willing to remove things.
No.
The removal of options would be new, awful territory for the game.
For example: what if they decide to go further and not just remove options, but races? Then they remove Blood Elves entirely? Since lots of people don’t like them on the Horde, or at all for that matter.
It’s not a good precedent to set.
They already remove things, as someone that has done top content in PVP a lot of people can’t get the sets I have, they can’t get the mounts I got in Mists, they can’t get items from way back when, etc. it’s not game breaking.
Personally, I’d like to see distinctiveness added via things like a dark ranger eye option (possibly only for blood elf and undead death knights), warmer colored tattoos, maybe some felblood customizations, some sayn’lyn options, and just give blood elves more hair, jewelry, scars, rune tattoos, and a few better faces. I’d like to see blood elves utilize a warmer pallete with lots of red, gold, pale highlights, bright colors, ect.
And then go in the opposite direction for void elves, with muted colors, blues, purples, black highlights, any tattoos or hair color to match that coloration…
Ideally, just jazz it up with some of the options.
But you can still keep them.
If they take away the blood elf skins from void elves, I won’t have them anymore.
As far as the options in place I agree even for those unhappy with them added it is what it is.
But I have to agree with Naughtymoon on Alleria being changed, it serves as peace of mind that further visual distinction from BEs is now no longer in the ball park.
Otherwise all I can say is I hope VEs don’t get the HE lore tie in, and they remain in limbo forever. And thats not something I really want to hope for, if they changed Alleria I could really root for them to comment on the Wayfarers who stand around in the rift (as of now they haven’t).
But you shouldn’t have had them to begin with which I already said many posts back, you are a Void Elf not a Blood Elf.
It’s too late for that. It doesn’t matter now.
This is dangerously close to people who argue “Blood Elves shouldn’t be Horde to begin with, so Blizzard should put them on the Alliance”.
It’s a moot, and ultimately pointless argument.
They’re there now. There’s no undoing it.
Obviously, Blizzard’s stance is that this is a way a void elf can look.
It’s the exact same argument really.

It’s actually not, they could be removed it takes new coding but it can be done.

That could happen just as easy but unlikely to happen given it’s actually a Core Race not just a copy/paste customization.

They can change Alleria though and you would still have those options, you don’t have the option to look like Alleria now anyways, and the visual distinction her hair represents for VEs and BEs should be kept the way it is, at least with a model update BE fans can have peace of mind, and it sort of would give them the opportunity to touch up on VE story I would think while allowing fans to look like Alleria because they brought Alleria in line with how they look.
It’s actually not, they could be removed it takes new coding but it can be done.
Blood elves could then be removed from the Horde and given to the Alliance, and nothing would stop Blizzard from doing that.
Is that a precedent you really want set?

That isn’t what Naughty is arguing.

Of course it’s unlikely to happen, but so is removing any options from any race.
I’m saying that starting to remove player options, not gear or mounts like you mentioned, would be a new and awful precedent for Blizzard to set.
Why would they be, they were given to us not you, that’s the thing people on Alliance refuse to accept Blood Elves/High Elves were given to Horde not Alliance.
Why would they be
Why would the Void Elf options be removed though? Blizzard stated they were added so both sides could RP High Elves.
The removal of player options is a bad precedent. It’s not saying that they would remove Blood Elves, but that they would be setting a precedent to expect the removal of player options in the future.
Which is a horrible, horrible direction to go in.
Why would they be
Narritively the almost did rejoin the Alliance in MoP.
What would stop Blizzard from doing the same plot again, but going through with it, if removing things is on the table?

It’s literally just copy/pasted customizations for Void Elves, it’s not an actual race, you would still have what you had previously to use and play with.

Why would they actually take away a race completely vs copy/pasted customizations, that’s like comparing apples to oranges which is absurd.
