Technically one could say VEs also got their extended range, Alleria identifies as herself as a void elf.
Because Trolls didn’t stay all bluish either, Undead didn’t stick to pale colors. Before those new options for these 2 horde races I don’t think anyone would go “yeah a Darkspear can totally be tan look at all these tan Darkspear”.
They’ve said though that Allied Race customizations weren’t on deck atm though, why would they make an exception of one? I really think you’re taking the copy pasting of skins (which again the mess is there in the preview blog) as if it was finely tuned when it wasn’t.
Is a leader character, this has been gone over countless times. Bringing up Alleria is like complaining forsaken can’t look like Sylvanas. She’s a different version.
They have the same skin tones as humans now? Or more options in non-human colors?
Are human corpses so received versions of the extended skin tones as is right.
They already did, and with how far they went, if they wanted to go all they way they might as well rip the bandaid off all at once rather than drag it on.
More seriously, the only locking I can think of is for jewelry for a few races (including dwarves and feathers/hair styles NOT THAT I’M BITTER) and, for some reason, human faces to skin tones.
Even if they have the tools set up, it’s still an extra step. I suspect anything further that may or may not happen with void elves will come when they’re willing to put extra steps into allied races. And hopefully they put some more work into the others than void elves… But there’s still a lot of cool things I’d like.
Sylvanas isn’t the Forsaken leader tho at the time the new customization options were added. By then it’s Lilian V (who looks very Forsaken and can be emulated so).
They have the same skin tones as Trolls of other tribes but not their own tribe. It’s been said that they were given Sand Troll options.
Aside from the imaginary Hulk, I’ve never seen muck green skin humans as a totally normal human thing.
From a company known for time-gating many QoL features/story?
Wait, didn’t Dwarves get feathers as customization options?
Exactly. Plus we have to remember the high elf topic was a known thing. Heck even in the new cinematic, once Sylvy went (SPOILER), people were like ‘lol she a high elf now’. This is youtube commentary people, the most normi-fied website…
Pedantry, Really? Also, if you’re going to be that way, she’s not their leader, therefore it’s not a problem they can’t look like her.
Ok, little off the norm, but things go green when they rot.
Yeah, she’s more different. Sylvanas was raised by Arthas like all the original Forsaken. Alleria got all stupid and ate an energy being larger than her head, while the void elves as far as we know were transformed by an ethereal void ritual, so she doesn’t even have than in common with them.
Sorry, it wasn’t meant to come off that way. Back in Wrath male Humans could pretty much carry the same silhouette as Varian. I’d even say one of their newer shorter hair options gives off younger Anduin vibes. Blood Elves can now emulate Lor’themar. And I haven’t looked as much into the other races but I’m fairly sure they can pretty much look like whoever their leaders are. Just meant it become even more so at the time of Shadowlands.
Yeah then black (completely dead by then), it’s not good.
Only Umbric and his followers were transformed by the Void Etherals. Alleria absorb the power from a Dark Naruu. But all in the same sense, both Alleria and all the other Void Elves are still the same Void Elves.
Oh believe me, Blizzard can be pretty out of touch sometimes but I don’t think they were that out of touch. They definitely knew if things only went toward one side it would’ve been a disaster.
That’s annoying. They did though I see de-connect the piercings (like nose and ear I think), so hopefully they can do the same with feathers. Also just more feathers in hairstyles in general.
Eh, it just seems like a dead end for anything to use the unique modeled characters for player requests.
Was there a hair to look like him, or was it more armor work? I don’t know if they go quite as distinctively different a frame on the men than the women, especially when they were copy pastaing Alexstraza’s model all over.
You mean the void elves?
They’re all named void elves, and have a chewy void center, one came into it in a controlled manner and the others not so much.
People wanna look like their ‘heroes’, it’s natural imo. I don’t doubt there’s a significant portion of female human players that wish for Jaina’s two-toned braided hairstyle to this day.
It was a hairstyle, the spiky ponytail, literally everyone was calling it Varian’s hairstyle then. It was extremely popular on human males. Not as much now because of finally more options. More options, more diversity.
Fair enough. I guess I should clarify that I mean it more that those characters are often different models, so I don’t think it works to treat them as an example of what a PC should look like. You might get options, but the model isn’t set up the same way.
You should really take that out of the quote block because it’s your take on the non-answer.
Definitely not, but it hasn’t stopped players from doing their darnedest (<-- wow that’s actually a word wth) to emulate them. Tusks of Mannoroth with a bald, tattooed Mag’har = Garrosh. Slap Grom’s hairstyle on another to be Grom Hellscream. People have always tried to emulate the hero characters where possible. Take a one-eye blind green-eyed blood elf with a light blonde ponytail to look like Lor’themar (since Shadowlands). I think I’ve seen some people making Khadgar mages now too due to one of the newer hairstyles.
