We have a quite relaxed (is downright joking by this point) thread going on in SF. People says they may be a clue regarding the incoming expac after SL -maybe one involving the “Life” cosmic power / dimension OR some others speculate it could be related to the “races” that use phoenixes in their iconography a.k.a. thalassian elves-.
I won´t deny it, part of me would HATE for it to become another “Elune” plot or worse, for it to indicate Belves are due for the good ´ol villain batting so Helves can get their stuff for free.
Also please, yellow one when? Cowardly devs haven´t figured out how to give us the yellow Hawkstrider, they should AT LEAST give us the yellow phoenix.
Remember the conversation we had a couple of days ago related to “racial” flying mounts?
Cause I´s still trying to figure out how should I feel regarding these mounts.
speaking of mounts. has anyone, anywhere ever seen a Hawkstrider just hanging about out in the wild. I never have, not anywhere. Where do they come from? Also how did the Hawkstriders that the void elves have get voidafide? did they also get caught up in the spell trap?
We really “debating” how the Elves who worship the sunwell that’s infused with holy light don’t have a secondary light theme?
The Sunwell is a soloable raid instance. And quest text is readable.
It is 100% one of their themes. The other flavors being fel, the shared high elf, and the potential of dark rangers is always there.
Seems like people just don’t like the direction that the story has taken blood elves. But hey, if you want a dark and edgy magic elf that uses chaotic power in an attempt to protect their people, the Alliance is waiting for you. Always said the ren’dorei felt like the proper progression for the sin’dorei after TBC turned them into “humans, but horde”.
They really should have just left the sunwell in the past.
Them reigniting it is the main thing that took away the flavour of the race.
The one thing about the Void Elves that I love is that they are brutal and use very questionable methods but for the greater good! I think it’s fascinating that a group like that can share values with the Alliance in protecting people but doing it on their own terms.
Yeah. I fell in love with the race instantly when I saw just how brutal they were, yet, they’re still allied with the Alliance, and the Alliance just goes “uh” at them.
I get more feelings of the TBC blood elves off what little we do have of the ren’dorei than I do from anything past 5.2. I just really wish they wrote it better. Even implications that Umbric was an ally to or studied under Solarian, and maybe actually stayed out there researching nether - and then void magics, before returning to Quel’thalas because of wanting to find Dar’khan’s stuff.
Alas.
I’m just rambling at this point. I could go on for hours about how they could have done the race introduction better.
I agree! The entire lore though is just amazing and it seems so goofy but my favorite moment with them so far is when they teleported themselves into the battle for Lord with Alleria! SO GOOD!! <3
This is pretty much how I RP this character, she is a BC style Astromancer who came up in Outland, with a similar study of the Void and Arcane as Solarian and would basically be a Silvermoon Scholar.
I still laugh at Lor’themar calling them traitors when they were exiled.
Like, yeah, Umbric himself - alongside other NPCs like the brainwashed ones in the market people conveniently tend to forget about - didn’t agree with serving under the Horde banner, but Quel’thalas matters more, and oops, you just sent them to the only place they could pretty much go instead of just… letting them go stay with the Forsaken or something.
Was really hoping to see more reaction from the Silver Covenant on the arrival of their tendie’d cousins. How they’d work together, or even if there’s be some major turmoil with some of them outright leaving back to Silvermoon because … no.
God, I wish we’d go back to Azeroth and actually have an expansion that focuses on the races and things back home. We desperately need it.
It’s something that the Blood Elves have forgotten. They use to do questionable methods like stealing the Naaru and sucking out it’s magic/light, burning down ruined churches to spite the Human Paladin Order, attacking Draenei and stealing their stuff in the Sunfury quests in the Draenei Starting Zones, and etc.
They’d need arcane “infused” themes before they even think about stealing the lightforged themes. If they did not get “arcaneforged” by the sunwell before it was destroyed, why would you think they would get lightforged now?
(though I do want to see a bit of the light theme in customization I’m not a fan of lightforging the blood elves. I just mean like tattoos like the Naaru markings {not glowy} and some light looking jewelry.)
I’m going to be honest, I think it’d be cooler if the blood knight theme is shown through pheonix-style tattoo’s, it’d be very symbolic for the group since they where born when the BE civilization was being rebuilt and they had to rebirth themselves during BC from their wrong doings against the naaru.
