Void Elf-High Elf Customization Thread

The irony in this post given some of the things you say and post is unreal, especially in the last few minutes.

Blonde hair customizations on elves is not equivalent to stealing real world money holy moly dude

Elves break brains I swear

You’re looking at it from a narrow perspective and not really trying to see what they’re saying.

Or worse you do see it and choose to respond this way.

You don’t have to demean people to disagree with them.

It’s worse than that. He isn’t even acknowledging that your arguments are valid.

He’s mad that he doesn’t agree and that you haven’t just gone away for him.

You’re the one doing analogies, I never said it was the same I’m saying the concept of taking something and giving something no one wants in exchange is the same.

Nobody is entitled to anything, we all pay 15 bucks a month for access to a Blizzard service and they can do what they want

Incidentally the list of things that nobody is entitled to includes “exclusive access to blonde hair”

Midare, why are you entertaining the poster child for “representative of the bad portion of the Helfer crowd”?

I mean he/she even degenerated into the usual M.O. of throwing out insults and a tantrum worthy of a colicky baby when you guys made evident how his/her own post worked against him/herself. Don´t waste your time with someone that has NOT been able to accept WC3 happened short of a decade ago.

Personally I rather NOT get my fav race degenerated into a clone of the cheap copy either.

Unless actual benefits like a cheaper sub are added ofc.

Sure dude, is not like Midare basically told Alasa that his/her post worked against the petition of the troll that created the thread… and other posters (including a certified Velf fan like Fenelon) provided the lore quotes that supported Midare´s post.

Don´t you guys get tired of having your fanons and headcanons obliterated in this place? You people you AT THE MINIMUM provide actual DECENT AND REALISTIC suggestions IN COMPENSATION for the Belf playerbase instead of believing you´re some sort of “victim” and that Belf players should pay the price because Metzen et al “dared” to create WC3 or something. Not our fault Warcraft didn´t follow the trope of the LoTR movie trilogy.

Man, we´re talking about the people that HAS BEEN REFUSING TO ACCEPT that WC3 happened AND that the story told there literally obliterated their “buut, buut!!! muh WC2 that was a cheap copy of muh LoTR movies” fanon for more than a decade and counting -.-…

This is hardly surprising behaviour tbqh… mature people basically made Belves or learned to love Nelves and moved on, period.

I have a better idea, how about you act like a semidecent person and actually PROPOSE what do you think Blizz should give us Belf players in our own model as a COMPENSATION for you people basically cloning our model in ALL the visual ways?

I mean just like the CEO of PEPSICO can´t simply copy-paste Coca-Cola´s bottle and label design and discard any type of compensation with a “meh, both are Soda, chill”… you can´t. Cause the visual aspect of the Belf model IS how Blizz sell us players the race initially.

So stop trying to emulate lowkey bussiness thieves and if you want SO much to play a “correct Legolas” in the “correct faction”… then say what Blizz should give us Hordies as compensation for our troubles.

Say that to all and every Trademark demand made irl dude.

Our side is NOT the one that STILL can´t stand the fact Silvermoon gave the middle finder to the Alliance in WC3 and that they rolled Horde since the race became playable more than 10 years since this happened… yours is. So I would be VERY careful when issuing complains of childishness if I were you.

Says the poster child for “MUH ALLIANCE UNLY LURDAERON!!!”

Pot, meet kettle.

I´ll copy-paste this the next time you complain over Forsaken still existing in the game and you guys not getting Lordaeron anexed to your faction. Maybe then you´ll finally read what you post.

Why do so few people get this?

It’s almost like they don’t actually want the options, and pretend to while acting like brats to ensure they aren’t given or something.

Nobody is proposing taking blonde hair from Blood Elves. They’re proposing giving blond hair to Void Elves so that both have blonde hair. You are equating this to robbery for some reason even though you wouldn’t actually lose anything aside from the apparent satisfaction of other people not being able to have blonde hair like you can.

Never encountered this poster before and yet in the few times I have this feels very accurate.

How else would they make comments like this

And then follow up acting like this

Then why are you trying to demean the opposition with condescending remarks about sharing to score a “win”?

Because that’s what that is. “Hey, you want a thing that I have? We should both have thing, that way both of us are happy!” Sharing.

Instead we get “No, you can’t have thing that I have even if it doesn’t cost me anything, because you being happy will make me less happy by proxy.” Which is insane.

I made this post in the other Void Elf hair thread, but I figured it was worth posting here as well so that people can get a visual. The original post is as follows:

In the interest of gauging everyone’s reaction on both sides here, I made a mockup that compares a Blood Elf and a Void Elf that have more or less the same customizations (I may or may not have chosen the same face on both, forgive me if I didn’t) but the Void Elf has the dirty blonde that humans get.

The left is the Blood Elf, the middle is the Void Elf with the Human version of said Blood Elf hairstyle (the shape is a bit off, that’s my fault) and the one on the right is the Void Elf with a Void Elf hairstyle recoloured to a similar colour as the Human’s dirty blonde.

I’m not coming down on this on either side, just made the mockup so people have another visual they can compare with their own eyes.

Okay, let’s give Void Elves blonde human hair customizations

Void Elves should not be allowed to replicate a generic fantasy Elf to the fullest in the way that Blood Elves who already fulfill that theme do and have as a core Horde race.

Stop making bad assumptions about people.

Some people enjoy visual distinction between factions. Stop denigrating them for their opinions. You make us all look bad.

Someone didn´t even bother with reading OP´s post… in which he/she literally says “give me the colors AND hairstyles”.

Well dude, your “petition” was incredibly hostile too… basically asking to get everything regarding the Belf model with NO apparent compensation in mind.

So, chop, chop!!! Out with those compensation suggestions cause as long as Belves get stuff that make the visual model unique, you people can demand to get a perfect clone of the current model but available on Alliance.

Stop wasting time and propose constructive stuff for once.

Btw, I don´t “flame” the thread… your OP post was flame enough by itself. Next time learn to make an actual business esque proposal.

Oh they can… but then Blizz has to give the Belf model their own exclusive visuals once again.

Until then OP´s petition is basically the equivalent of trademark robbery, no more and no less.

sure we do, otherwise we have to talk about this awful expansion

So I guess the bigger issue here both groups can come to an understanding over is that Blizzard does not give enough customizations that give you that unique racial identity outside of I guess, heritage armor and tabards. And that I can absolutely agree on. For example, the tiara hairstyle on blood elf women is ugly and doesn’t fit a race where the equivalent of that party city tiara should actually be a forehead circlet like the priest in the burning crusade cinematic wears. Even years later you can’t really get this initial aesthetic down. Also someone also brought up the chunky looking jewelry for a race that seems like it’d, again, prefer something a little more delicate looking and not smithed by dwarves.

I’ll add in again that my compromise would be that certain hairstyles can be shared, but built in the different identities of said races. Hairstyles where tentacles would be on a void elf can offer braids for a blood elf, and vise versa. Maybe the more upkept high maintenance looking hairstyles on belves can be made to look spookier and more disheveled on velves.

There’s also that nice choker she’s wearing. Blood elves didn’t get chokers, yet night elves did.
