Read what I said, I said pvp has no bearing in pve, not the other way around. Reading comprehension is hard. Also, if you have a tentacle on you, range it or LOS it. Or build your team around that damage and add a healer.
No, the fact that they made visions impossible to do solo as an hpriest and then made a broken meta where pugging isn’t viable is the issue
Pugging is completely “viable.”
Your class is able to complete this solo, but you’re just not willing to try.
Why were you under the assumption that it was designed for healers to solo to begin with. Them nerfing health TWICE should indicate that they didn’t think of you when designing. Every single class have a dps spec.
Not really, no. I can use a couple trinkets on a 1:30 cooldown each to squeak out more DPS and when they hit something they hit hard, but Smite really is our heavy hitter. It hits like a pot of wet noodles, minus the pot.
If Smite did more baseline damage, or Holy Fire hit harder, it wouldn’t be quite so bad, but it would still be bad. We have 2 DPS spells (smite and holy fire), and a 3rd that we must save for interrupts (chastise). Smite can’t be cast on the move, so every time you move, your DPS halts completely. Holy Nova seems ok on paper, but in practice it doesn’t have enough output to kill quickly. It’s faster to Smite down individuals in an AOE pull than it is to nova them.
If the Sanity bar didn’t exist, I could solo the Vision. It would take me forever and a day, and be the slowest clear ever, but I could do it. There’s nothing in there that hits hard enough to kill me through my self-healing. The sanity timer is what kills holy priests.
They aren’t even that bad to solo as a healer. Go divine star for aoe damage. Apoth as a dps cooldown for bosses. They’re really easy, yes even as holy.
The problem is too many healers don’t know how to dps. They just constrain themselves to just healing and afking when healing isn’t needed.
On that point I kinda have to disagree. We aren’t always in range of our healers and the UHDK self heals from DS help the team as whole by lightening the burden for the team’s healers. The whole point in BGs is to win the BG, not just right in the road/middle for honor.

This is flawed logic. They nerfed the health to give healers a path to clear it. Obviously Blizzard supports healers being able to do the visions solo, and insinuating otherwise - that we HAVE to play a DPS spec is nonsensical.
This is exactly it. When I’m in raid or in a key, if there’s no need for healing, then I’m going to dps, not waste my time overhealing. if you go back and look at teh meters though, you’ll see that maybe 2 in 3 healers does no significant damage. The number of rdruids who I see standing in ranged in raid is staggering, when they could stay in melee and do some kitty dps.
Not all healers do same damage. Everyone knows disc does more than holy and that spec is also entirely available to you.
I am not a dps main spec. But I learned just enough to full clear WITH A MASK in a day. You can learn too.

I literally just did this on my priest and commented, and you made no response to this. I’m about 90% sure now that you’re just trolling.
That’s true of other healers, but holy is really not a dps healer. This is why we are viable but not competitive in m+. Holy is reactive and we normally have very short windows to pop our cds and get some smites in.
Lots of people in the thread commenting on how to play healers when they don’t even really understand holy.
So apparently you’re the only one out of 235 posts understands your class better than anyone else.
Understand your class is perfectly capable of completing the challenge. Limiting yourself to one spec is your fault and nobody else’s.
So then why the hell are you trying to clear something that requires dps throughput with a spec you know to be inferior to the two others available to you!?!?!?!?!?!

I mean, it’s not like before you had to visit your class trainer a pay gold to change spec and then have to farm tier to do it in new spec… it’s RIGHT THERE, she could just click on it and do basic research on the spec!! Argh
Not sure were you’re getting this “you must pay multiple specs” thing from. The issue here could be fixed my some simple changes that make it possible for healers to clear the visions in a reliable manner through healing, which is what our role is about.
This is an rpg my friend, not overwatch. Switching to “the best spec” is antithetical to the genre. But hey, peope will defend Blizzard’s bad design choices even though BfA has been one of if not the worst xpacs ever released because being supportive of our players and specs doesn’t make you feel big and smart on the forums.
That’s your fault for boxing yourself in such an extreme manner. Just in the same way that when a pure DPS player gets upset that his spec is on bottom if you refuse to branch out at all that is not really on Blizzard.
I think Blizzard has made rather good accommodations for visions in that it can be party content for healers and they’re obviously tuned to be easier for them if they do go solo. That being said some healers are gonna have a harder or easier time even with that accommodation and creating general content like they are doing with visions and tower (and even mage tower) means some classes will struggle more than others. The only way to create perfectly tuned content is everyone getting their own version and I doubt they’ll ever do that.
So I’ll say what I said to you in the other thread. Go respec shadow, read up on icy veins real quick for talent choices, and sit in front of a DPS dummy for 5-10 minutes to get a general feel for it and give a vision a whirl, respec azerite and essences if you wish based on what you have available. I pretty much guarantee you that unless ilevel scaling is horrendous for visions you will plow through it. I already do on my 447 toon.
Otherwise if you desire to just keep yourself in a very specific box then there’s nothing anyone else can do to help you.
