oooo. can ya program my game?
Lack of faith? They had lots of faith in the project. They just did not expect it to hit such a chord and take off like it did.
Lack of faith…
Tips why are you advertising your content on here on an alt?
function CanChangeLayer() : boolean {
if (IsRestedZone()) {
return true;
};
console.log('Nice try you sneaky dog!')
return false;
}
Don’t know how to print to screen. . lol
print("Text goes here");
Hrm. I am not sure if I should be offended or . . .
You are NOT going to get me to work in LUA!! YOU ARE NOT!!
I have way to much to do in VueJS right now.
I want longer stress tests, so I can get more work done on my Addon. Right now all it does is tell you if a Priest/Mage/Druid in your group is slacking, or giving you underpowered buffs.
/looks back and forth between brickle and el…
two programmers?
Aye
/happy face
hey know anything about 3d javascript?
Three.JS? I know of it but have not worked with it.
Not that my opinion means anything, but I like this idea the best personally. Everyone who wants to play together is connected through some form outside of WoW, whether it be the battle.net friends list, or discord or some messenger. If you want to join your friends but their layer is full they can relog and you all join whichever layer is open. It’s obviously not perfect, but it’s the best way i see to use layering without it being easily abused. It’s sort of a compromise between the preplanned mergers and layering as it is I guess.
I wish he’d gotten into cross realm sharding and its effects on war-mode, and on BfA as a whole. Yeah it’s a broader mishmash of servers, but the effect on a large population and the likelihood of either system encouraging players to be retained as subscribers is similar in my opinion. They both negative.
Layering itself sounds defeatist. “We know we’re going to have tourists come try the game. They won’t want to play it.” And then the response to that is “Let’s break the game for those who have been waiting over 10 YEARS to play it to accommodate these players that we have no ambition to woo to Classic.”
Totally backwards on so many levels.
If Blizzard wanted Classic to be a big winner with new players or new to Vanilla players, then they would develop a multi-month agenda to keep luring them back in. Afterall Vanilla takes many logins to get the rhythm of. Killing boars while looking at other players with idiotic names hopping up and down is the lowest portion of gameplay that the game has to offer.
Tipsoutbaby also didn’t mention servers that will not go to low populations for two years likely. Some streamers have 30K people watching their streams. I can’t see how the servesr that those streamers play on will ever drop to 5K concurrent logins at least for prime time hours. So, now there’s 10K servers around for all phases? Is that Vanilla?
And if Classic is like the betas, then some servers will be dead. What’s Blizzard’s plan for them?
Then there’s Fresh Servers, like the RP-PVP realm. Will it be launched in phase 2, have phase 2 content, but have layering? It’s going to be a popular server.
Tipsoutbaby doesn’t mention other possible alternatives. Like Premium, no layer servers. Make them preapproved only. Additionally, Blizzard could have other servers that will just be Mega Servers, from day 1 to day 1000, servers with layering for all stages.
And then there’s server merge events that can be planned. If it is known that server merges mess up communities in mmo and cost subs, then find some reason to make them all kinds of hype! Make the excitement of a merger so good that players will just wish that their server made the merge list.
And then there’s character transfers. The rules have changed over the years how they work. But the technology is no brainer automated now. It’s not costly. If populations will avalanche no matter what, then what do dedicated players have to look forward in the way of xfers? The not knowing makes dedicating time to leveling and gearing a difficult choice for some players.
In short: Large Groups of Players will not take Classic seriously, because a solution to many many problems is just some technology that many of them have seen something similar to and not liked it.
Also, Atlas had layering. It was gross. It’s not like some new technology that saves games guaranteed.
Finally, good video otherwise, from a community member we’re lucky to have.
-edit- Sorry I mean Atlas, forgot the name of the game.
he has a separate cloud layer moving independently of the planet. i want to know if there’s any way i can use that extra layer to create a linking system for the surface of the planet. i realize script and images function differently, but there’s gotta be some really stupidly easy want to convert that layer into a way to make clickable regions with names, like google has but without all the complexity. i know theres a way to make links in a div overlay. but they instantly become unclickable once in a div, even if at the uppermost position because its a canvas and canvas apparently doesnt recognize html
https://threejs.org/examples/misc_controls_fly.html, and it apparently has to be a link in 3d space. so it’s not just right in your face. you have to travel to it. …so to speak
well theres two ways to keep layer abuse down to a dullroar.
the other two options instead of locked layers:
It’s not ninja looting, it’s surprise elevated temper mechanics.
While I don’t think people were saying that at launch, at least none that I knew were. I do think a mmo launching today with wow’s launch would fold. The server’s were down a ton. Blizzard gave away tons of time. My first billing was pushed back like half a month from the free time they gave.
Not intrested in funding a hypocrite sorry.
