The way you have presented it, yes, is self inflicted.
You’re using statements such as ‘it is our fault x happned even though we have no control over it’. You’re also bringing up past experiences as if they have affect on you. It’s a game.
Someone who gets past the self inflicted anxiety says “you stood in this, you died.”
At the behest of healers claiming they didn’t have anything to heal in DF
That was sarcasm… It’s not actually our fault that dps stand in bad and ignore mechanics.
Understood.
It is still a topic of a frustrated healer who is venting about problems within their head and not the actual game.
You’re disappointed someone stood in fire and died? So is everyone else in the group we want to time and get rating.
OP presents problems in such a way that they are accepting ‘pug abuse’ by asserting the game is designed badly because they’re unable to keep people alive through death mechanics.
M+ should be difficult for the loot it generates. To have parity with Mythic raiders that means you start dying to avoidable damage because it is misplay.
Healers need to be frustrated with misplay, not the game. Many people have a huge mental block on separating those two things.

I’ve never seen my tank buddy get clap this hard in higher keys.

I dont know what any of you are talking about. I have had more fun this xpac than ever before. Healing is GREAT!
Standing in bad and not using defense cooldowns. Tanks need to use cooldowns to increase survivability not just taunt.
Make it easy for the healers don’t stand in bad AoE.
Like shield wall and spell reflect for example if warrior.

Healing has never felt this spiky/bursty to me before.
Doing 8-10 as presevoker this is how every trash/boss pull goes:
Tank drops to 20% on pull even with a CD if I don’t have time dilation for them. Tank busters drop them from 100-20% unless they’re a prot warrior.
Random stray damage from trash drops DPS down to 15%, I press a couple globals and full heal them back to 100%. DPS drop down to 10%, I full heal them back to 100% instantly again. People aoe stun the trash so they come out and sync their casts and wombo combo a random person killing them instantly /shrug.
That’s for the entire dungeon. My favorite is when we have a messy pull or some crazy overlap of aoe heal checks and I reacted fast enough with multiple cooldowns/heal combos and pull 2-2.5 million HPS and im just sitting there watching the health bars literally drain from 100% => 10% => 100% back n forth in literally 0.3 seconds each direction, astounded that we even survived.
It requires 100% hyperfocus and being dialed in to make sure no one suddenly dies in the time you can blink. Feels like 27s from s3

Yes, they entirely under-delivered on their statements about burst damage and healing. Typical.

This mirrors my experience as a tank.
Must watch for interrupts.
Must watch for tank busters that are on basically every boss now.
Usually also have a second mechanic, like picking up adds, or moving the boss happening at the same time as the tank buster.
Must still ration your cooldowns, and maintain your rotation to not get aggro ripped.
This season sucks for both tanks and healers. It’s no surprise that most have rerolled to DPS.

Why tank if you don’t want to deal with tank mechanics? It’s not the role of a tank to be a dps that stands in fire.
Healing became fun again when I decided to just do pvp and faceroll LFR
Why would you find healing fun there? Nothing you do matters. You just push buttons then something random happens.

Yup played a priest since legion and rolled me a hunter for this expansion. Just going to fish, WQ and delve. The DDR playstyle in M+ and raids on top of not being able to keep people up won. But lots of healer’s wanted to heal and not DPS so I hope those guys are talking up the slack.

Healing is the easiest role when you have competent group members that don’t stand in fire. The most enjoyable part about healing for me is pushing damage while keeping the group alive.

I’ve never liked the whole M+ idea and the toxicity it creates, but it’s what my crew likes to do. Classic dungeon style is so much better imo. Your there for completion, not to run around like a chicken with you head cutoff. But I digress.
Our group has some pretty crappy healers, but it’s the only thing they want to do so we’re stuck with them healing. Our running joke for years is how often pulls or bosses end up just myself (Enh) and the tank (Pally) from ±20% health left.
This expansion they cant even hack +2s. We’re mostly ilvl 600-610 and we couldn’t even get past the first boss in dawnbringer. I had to switch to healing. The amount of mechanics, AOE, and MASSIVE DoTs healers are having to deal with right now is so freaking stupid.
That said, it’s the first expansion I’m actually enjoying healing lol. but I haven’t healed anything higher than a 4 and I don’t heal pugs (yet).

First thing to know about being dps, if you die it’s either the tank or the healer’s fault. They teach that day 1.

Between the dungeon pool, the affix (mainly this weeks, last weeks was actually enjoyable), and the state of things this has been the most unfun M+ experience since they added the mode. Hell I had more fun with the tank kiting meta in S1 SL.
I’m either going to reroll DPS for the first time since Ulduar or just call it quits on TWW and hope Midnight will come with some more wide-sweeping M+ changes that makes the mode fun again.

Never forget, it was the casual healers who asked for this.
There was a time where M+ had less damage, and healers DPS’ed because they didn’t have as much to heal. Unfortunately, the fragile egos of Heroic Andys couldn’t take being called out for not DPSing when nobody in the group is taking damage. So they cried and they cried. That’s why we have unavoidable AoE pulse damage that do 50% of my HP through Feint, on a big-ish trash mob.

To have a successful game you should balance around the top of the player base.
I’m guessing no.
