This game is becoming increasingly more miserable to play a healer every single expansion…
I am expected to keep my eyes glued to the teams health bars because every 3 seconds somebody is taking dmg for 80% of their HP in one hit, while also expected to keep an eye out for the constant spam of ground dmg where if you don’t immediately move out of it you are 100% dead.
I have 2 eyes and Blizzard somehow expects one eye to be staring at the ground avoiding a constant stream of damage pools, with the other eye glued to the group HP bars to make sure nobody drops below 80% HP.
Healing has become the most important role in the game and also the most miserable. It’s like they took the absolute worst aspects of healing in Dragonflight and decided to double down on it.
Now everybody is still taking 80% of their HP in one hit, but everybody has so much HP that I have to stand still spamming heals which do a fraction of our health bars.
Even my #1 biggest heal, an “oh sh*T” button only heals for 30% of your total HP and that’s if I’m lucky and it crits.
I’m done healing this expansion, and since that’s my go to role for years now, I might just be done with TWW altogether unless some SERIOUSLY drastic improvements are made.

The best part is the majority of those 80% hits are avoidable but it’s still our fault if we can’t keep the party alive.

There’s a reason why there are 90% DPS and the rest is a split between heals and tank.

Maybe at level 3! Avoidable damage becomes one shots quick this season. I think he’s talking about rot/aoe damage from bosses. Ara Kara first boss , fort week 80% health loss from aoe before spiders. Ara Kara last boss poison aoe easy 80% everyone’s health when it goes out. Call of the brood mini boss spiders 130% of peoples health. Bursty damage profiles happen early and often this season.

One of my favourite recent memories was in a df key. My friend was healing, it was a higher key so lots of 1 shots could happen. Completely avoidable though.
One of the dps ate nearly all of them. Dead on cool down. We still timed it. But at the end he linked “healing received” to show that everyone else got way more healing than he did and that my healer friend was trash and it was his fault this dps was dead all the time.
How does a corpse receive healing?? Dps is a braindead role.

That’s rough, I haven’t started doing keys this expac so I’ve no idea yet.

Yahhh they said they were gonna slow down the bursty damage, and make healing less powerful and more gradual. But it kinda just feels like our heals were nerfed and the damage is still bursty. And the amount of poisons is annoying af, cleanse one person, three more people need cleansed. Meh. At least we have necrotic wake and mists, not a big fan of any tww dungeons.

They buffed health pools of everything and spiked damage up drastically while leaving heals low intentionally.
A lot of “high end” healers were complaining about being bored and not having anything to do. You can blame the world first crowd for the current state of healing.

I mean yes but the content shouldn’t be balanced around the top 1% and if it needs to be then make healing 10’s miserable and leave the other difficulties alone.
If that’s a true statistic I wouldn’t be surprised

It feels like you literally need to take amphetamines or coke to be able to keep up with the amount of mechanics going out right now while also keeping an eye on the whackamole damage tanking the health bars of your group.
I have to stand still to heal people, but I also can’t stand still because every 3 seconds there’s pool damage thrown on the ground where if I don’t start moving the second I see the pool, I’m dead before I can move out of it.
It’s the least fun I’ve ever had playing this game.

While true, you’ve got the guy responsible for “Elitist Jerks” in charge at the moment, and they’ve quite literally made next-day changes off of what some of the RWF streamers’ commentary was in PTR. You can watch a video of Max talking about a number of issues, including class buffs, which were changed within 24 hours of him complaining.
They’ve gone back to catering to the 1%. And the 99% gets to suffer due to it.

Heya! Multi-role monk here. (Admittedly I have healed to +6s and am not confident higher yet)
When I put on my healer cap I put myself in the perspective of that it isn’t my fault if people are getting one shot. If the tank is getting pumped and I’m blasting them back up, at that stage they are gonna kite/use defensive and they DPS should be using kicks/ccs/damage. The other part is my emergency buttons. If Sheluns gusts aren’t going past 5 stacks/no bird/no bubble/no renewal then there is clearly something going wrong in terms of mechs.
The last part is letting go. I used to blame myself for bad players constantly standing in bad/doing bad. I just let them die now when they do that. If they want to pull shenanigans they can save themselves.

A lot of the time, it really isn’t. You can check my raider IO, I accidentally ran a +8 key in 585 PVP gear last night. I died a grand total of 1 time due to a really bad killing spree lineup that put me in acid after it popped.
Never once blamed the healer. Was panic using consumes and defensives as I realized 2 pulls in that I messed up, but just kept moving since we were on track to time and my overall dps was still over 1 mil.
DPS players just really like standing in bad and hate using defensives and potions.

Idk i havent had a single person blame mee for them dieing this xpac annd only i think 2 times last xpac.
Healing is not the most important role. That would be DPS. else guilds would prioritize gear to healers.
Also, only 30%, are you playing your class correctly?
Content isn’t balanced around the top 1%, that’s why M+ has so many difficulty levels, and raid has four.
your profile shows that you are doing well. maybe you can push higher with a better m+ group, comms and better communication planning
