Every single one of my assessments were accurate. You are a career rival and likely were boosted to duelist but I really don’t care to be honest. I just knew I was right the entire time. Most of the complainers here are complaining because they’re unsuccessful & expect everything to cater to them so they can instantly get gladiator doing anything on any spec at any point in any list with any team.
As a track system? Not really. They’d just be slower to get them.
Lets say you had something similar to the Legion reward system for each season. But instead of x number of horse mounts you had:
Pieces of the epic tier set
Ground Mount
Heck, A recoloured ground mount
The title
A weapon effect
Banner
Flying mount
and anything else they wanted to add.
Those are the big rewards. Along the track there are also bursts of conquest and honor, potions, banquets, etc.
You win? You go up quickly. You lose? You get about 25% of the reward.
Now, is this a perfect system? No. You’d need to stop people throwing matches or similar. But you’d be saying to new players ‘come on in. Even if you lose, the water’s fine.’ Which means new players, which means for a healthier competitive scene.
I disagree because there are ways to word things that don’t involve insults etc. The idea that the simple truth free if insults is offensive is soft. Also borderline narcissism.
i’m not arguing against venruki’s points or this video but the overall mentality of the community feels so starkly different than it was just a couple years ago
BFA was a bad expansion but it had the same 2400 gladiator rewards
BFA S2 and S3 both ended with 1100 gladiators
now neither of these seasons were this games peak or prime but it’s really interesting how the mentality back then wasn’t that the game was dead or that rewards were unobtainable
SLS2 happened and they can’t put the toothpaste back in the tube but you can’t argue that 7xing the amount of gladiators didn’t create this insane resounding mentality of entitlement
that’s not arguing against MMR being giga inflated it’s proven now at this point that people view mmr as an obstacle and not a mechanic and if that obstacle is perceived (even if inaccurately) to be insurmountable they just wont play
but it feels so strange to watch a small segment of players who will either earn or miss rewards by the skin of their teeth completely dependent on inflation out of their control complain COMPLETELY validly about how it’s inconsistent and feels bad
JUST to have a MUCH larger segment of players piggy back off that complaint/movement and use it to hold blizzard at gunpoint for rewards they were never in danger of earning before anyways
Rating decay fixes waiting to push frankly. You want something you need to keep playing, otherwise the top end never moves up.
But no one is going to play so long as balancing is garbage. You can make a million reasons why a glad mount is obtainable, but you’re not going to go for it if the game plays like crap.
not many of the players complaining about inflation play well enough to know that the game plays like crap
the sea of rival mage players that lose misusing their kit to -insert fotm dps spec- will continue losing to misusing their kit to the next -insert fotm dps spec-
Thats why Blizz has already finished the next expansion and are working on the one after…
Diablo4 is the new WoW model for maximum profit, unfinished game with mass advertising, make a ton of cash up front. If 90% of the player base quits soon after thats ok, because they made their profit…
I guess you could say Blizzard is always one step or expansion ahead lol.
