Uuuhhh major bug just made my character unusable?

I didn’t even buy 376 gear, I legit purchased 319 ilvl from the AH to make lvling easier and it all got hotfixed and bumped to 376 AND only usable at lvl 70. Why would I want that gear at lvl 70? I want the 319 gear NOW.

there is definitely something else going on, hopefully the 319 gear that i bought to replace the broken gear doesnt do that to me.

the bug has been resolved.

the bug was that the gear was available to characters lower level than intended.

no, it’s not the fault of the players.

no, there’s nothing you can do about it.

bugs happen.

if you need to rant, go do it in GD.

Too late I was victim of multiple items off the AH spent upwards of 1 million gold to gear my alts and logged in today to see I can’t use any of them till I hit 70. Not a happy camper today…

No it has not been resolved. Stuff that begins with “Zaralek Surveyor’s” is still 100% active for 60s… This hotfix was VERY inconsistent in what it hit.

First thing you need to ask yourself.

“How many pieces of gear are available in-game? and do you expect Blizzard to get all the pieces corrected?”

the other question is.

“Do you expect your ilvl to be at end game levels at level 60?”

If you think something is hinky, report it. Taking advantage of bugs is called exploiting.

Oh boy, you’re preaching to the chior here. lol… I got a whole mess of posts in the bug report forums about it.

Fun note, they allowed Heirlooms to be upgraded to level 70. I’m sure some of you have heirloom gear available to you, so replacing the gear wouldn’t be that difficult.

Thanks for the refund link, whoever it was that posted! At least it got me back my armor I sold yesterday, so I can play again! Now is I could only get the 100-150k gold back! I don’t need any of this 376 gear I just bought yesterday now, as I have the 385 stuff waiting in my bank.

so you’ve reported this then?

…or are you just going to milk it for all it’s worth?

no probs.
glad you were able to get your stuff back

transmog is transmog :stuck_out_tongue:

Nobody is milking anything here dude. These are items that weren’t purchased maliciously nor were they modified through any means to “boost” or “break” them.

You are painting a picture from some weird narrow viewpoint and thinking everyone was trying to get a leg up. This is reality and not the case my dude. Sorry buddy!

nobody made that claim.

nobody, not a single person… could have had any reasonable expectation that a level 60 should have access to such high ilvl gear.

it was very obviously a bug.

the reality is, the playerbase are aware of the saying “exploit early and often”.

ROFL what?

You are insinuating something and it’s clear as day my dude, just because you use these forums a lot doesn’t mean you are always correct friend.

You can literally clear instances faster from 1-59 with BoA’s using their broken scaling just the same, heck you can use ONE ability on most classes and sprint. So it’s a given that once you have done that grind, seeing these 60 BoE’s legitimately on the AH and buying them to use. Yeah, a lot of us had no idea. And in my case the grind was over… I had all my BFA max level classes because I needed them to do my job and comprehend everything through first hand experience.

I just came back to the game last week myself. Last I was on I was the GM of Endeavour-Mal’Ganis and we snagged our N’Zoth CE for reference here.

So after getting two 70’s up and seeing people killing just as fast in 60-69 content as 1-59 content even I figured this investment would be fine also. Turns out not only was it not but blizzard gave us no warning. They hot-fixed it and didn’t think about the repercussions to every scenario at hand. Now they are dealing with it and in my case it’s going to be seven alts needing to be resolved.

And the reality of the case is while some of the player base knew, a lot of us returning players didn’t. This isn’t something plastered on the main patch notes or a warning given anywhere.

You can square that away in your head anyway you like. Doesn’t change facts and it also doesn’t make this live hot-fix justified in the method they pushed it out. No way dude. I’d be fired from my long standing IT job if I pushed something even remotely close to a change like this out let alone LIVE.

I also in my decades of gaming across many platforms and genre’s have never heard “Exploit Early and Often”. That has to be the zippiest comment I’ve read this year. Well done buddy. I think you need another 17k forum posts here. Super helpful. rofl

exactly.
what?
if you want to rant, this isn’t the place for it.
there’s already a couple of rant threads in GD.
this one is fairly active if you want to join in.

here’s another:

feel free to try a forum search, friend.

Agreed.

It is a saying in certain circles. NoBully isn’t wrong when he says it was a bug. The gear in question was BoP until a previous set of gear from the catch-up event in the Plains was hotfixed to have a level 70 requirement… Somehow it seems in marking those drops as level 70 only, the current gear that got slapped with the level 70 req, went from BoP to BoE.

If you look on wowhead, the stuff you were buying off the AH was all BoP until this past Tuesday.

And if you look here, this pic is from 2 days ago, and even then, the items read BoP, WHILE they were in the AH.
