So, to keep up with everyone in BG’s I bought the 379ilvl gear. Spent around 50k on it. They hot fixed it my after my second BG I guess because now it’s level 70 instead of 60.
This is kinda the same screw up as when you could fully upgrade world pvp items because they made the token things tradeable (trophy of strive I think it was). They reverted all those AH items. Couldn’t they do the same with these?
That’s a you problem if you really thought they weren’t gonna fix that.
Is it though? There was maybe 4 of us total in a BG of 20 people that didn’t have this new gear. I was told it was just new and to grab it from AH. I’m a broke WoW player and basically logged into all my toons sending over the random 5-6k that had to try and get what I could.
Again, this is a “you” problem if you seriously thought wearing endgame gear at low levels was intended.

And yeah I literally just started playing on Friday night and first thing I did was go to the AH looking for upgrades. I stopped playing last year so had on all Shadowlands stuff.
So yeah I really didn’t think twice about it. I read the description over and over and nothing stuck out. So I would buy one piece and put it one. Then buy one more to make sure I could equip two, figured maybe I would only be allowed one.
And it let me so I just kept buying thinking this was expected. ARGH!!!

I don’t pvp. However, I filtered the auction house, to only get gear that I could wear. I was like 376 at 61? a new patch came out. Now I can’t use it until I hit 70? I spent good money on it because I thought it was new baseline gear because of 398 gear being the new 359 gear. So how is anyone to know that is only for level 70 when it said 61?. Once again Blizzard makes a major mistake costing people 10 OF THOUSANDS OF GOLD and we are being mocked for it.
And you didn’t stop to think the 359 base gear was for level 70 only? And that not once in the entire history of this game have they ever allowed a level 60 to wear that kind of iLVL? Or why it cost you 10K per piece?
I also didn’t think it was that far-fetched seeing as before we could get 319ilvl gear when I was only wearing like ilvl120 in all the other pieces. I just thought this was the new stuff.

LEVEL 60 was never able to wear above 100 in vanilla.
They usually raise the ilvl when a new patch comes out. Why wouldn’t it cost 5000g per piece at the start of an expansion. It’s new. It’s high level and at the time it was equipable by level 61. This means it 's fairly valuable.
After the incident following the abuse using a certain Heirloom that didn’t have a level requirement, this was bound to happen to anything following it. anyone before level 70 shouldn’t even have ilvl above 359. Just a fault for buying into what you were getting into, especially if the sole intention was to have a upperhand far above other players.
Bug exploiting? If that’s what you want to call it, sure. I checked the AH after seeing 8/10 other people on my team having more than double my HP and asked what the heck was going on. They all said “New items, go check the AH”. Huge bug abuser.
I’m glad they fixed it- this would’ve destroyed lower level PvP (not that’s it’s already not dead) because it relies on iLvL.
Although I’d say Party-Sync PvP still needs to go as well.
The amount of lvl 70’s you see in battlegrounds while levelling, is surprising.
I think people do this to just prey on lowbies- it’s sanctioned ganking.
Same thing as Twinking, same result anyway.
And yes, for the most part they will delete you. (iLvL scaling w/ your questing gear VS. their top-level tier pieces.)
