Yeah people pick Arms’ because of their Execute… where are you going with this lmao
Y’all ar moving goalposts, im just following put
The original point was that prot was the execute spec, because the dude said prot warriors were the “gladiators” the ones who 'execute people", in the battlefield, and a lot of more nonsense
No, it isn’t, pto having a stronger execute now only means they are that crap at balance and tunning, not that prot is the execute spec, prot is the tank spec, its the sword and board with their main skill being shield slam, not execute
Wrong…
As I said it was double buffed.
It’s because they want Prot to be the execute spec.
Execute does way more damage. Shield Slam is a rage generator not the main damage ability anymore.
They are the execute spec.
Arms really isn’t played much and Prot has better comps. If you play arena you should consider playing Prot.
Prot’s execute is 4 times stronger than Arms not just a little bit stronger. The reason it’s so much better is the Devs are finally doing some good balancing and making Prot thee Execute spec now.
With that said Prot players are now dropping some Shield Slam talents to run Juggernaught instead because it’s Prot’s main damage ability. That’s why they kept buffing it. Clearly the Devs want us using Prot execute talents and doing huge burst.
While we weren’t saying that. Prot is actually the better Arena spec. The tier list thread has Prot above Arms in Arena. Prot’s in a great spot. Couple more buffs it could be S tier. Since Prot hard counters meta comps.
Only if you play MT, colossus didn’t, and the buff isn’t as big as you think
No, its because its one of their fillers and need to be on pair with the balance, they don’t rly care about that and sure as hell are not wanting that
Its not about dealing more damage, its about being the signature skill
It’s both. Prot now does way more damage and now has talents to make it a signature skill.
Oh it’s a big buff. Prot gonna have some pretty high burst now. Higher than many Dps.
Execute is the main damage ability for Prot. Key word “main”. Their talents choices are to bolter their main damage more. The Devs want to make it clear they want Prot execute to be a really fun main damage button to press.
Ok mate, i think you are too far gone in that delusion, i should have know earlier with your crazy talk not knowing about gladiators, but believe in what you want
Has nothing to do with beliefs, just the facts. You keep ignoring them. Good luck.
Sorry for necro-post, but…
All attacks for a given spec are based on either Attack Power or Spell Power (all one or the other at this point, unless using an errant trinket).
The larger factor in its actual PvE output (though still not enough to place Execute’s overall contribution above Arms’) is simply that Protection has —at time of writing— a built-in +26% damage modifier for Execute, while Arms and Fury do not outside of PvP.
- In PvE, Arms modifies only Thunder Clap (+40%) and Slam (+80%), and Fury has -3% damage to a great many abilities, but nothing affecting Execute.
And what Prot gains in tooltip strength via extra AP it largely loses in on-target damage multipliers via Deep Wounds %dmg amplification.
For a spec to have a “weaker” Execute than another, its damage would have to increase less from using Execute over a given span of time (say, average DPS over a 2-minute cycle or as near to that as narrowly gets or misses a CD-cycle) as compared to not using it.
Or, more simply put, on how much it actually hits for (for which all stats and effects are relevant), rather than how much it says it will hit for (for which only %dmg buffs, Vers, and AP are relevant).
Tl;dr: If you want to compare strengths, use Details, not…
Anyone arguing with these two yahoos about prot’s execute in pvp need to just stop. Who cares?
Reading this argument between these two is a waste of life energy. Both of them are trying to make one half-truth stronger than the other half-truth.
I literally rolled on the floor laughing with tears when one of them said prot are true Gladiators that execute their enemies on the battlefield like the “300” Spartans
My three year old was wondering why I was so hysterical. Never change, Warrior players. Truly the zug zug class.
No it’s just a set few pests that plague the forums. If you describe them to anyone in the PvP scene with 2-3 words they’ll be able to tell you the exact name.
“The squeaky wheel gets the grease” I guess
And sometimes the greasiest (to the point of no traction with reality) wheel gets the squeak, apparently?
