Uuhhh so like... Why

It became a thing when they gave Prot sudden death and talents to support Execute. Then execute is based on attack power (as I highlighted) which Prot has the most of ANY warrior spec via mastery.

When they removed Vengeance mechanic for Tanks they needed something better to replace it which is why Mastery provides a % increase to attack power.

I have him on ignore only see his comments when someone responds. He’s just a typical toxic Arena player that loves to follow me around on the forums. Just another one of Abomb’s fans.

I’m only here to help and provide information and good discussions. Hopefully some day mods clean up these forums so more of that happens.

wha…? how does this make sense

Prot is a Gladiator and they must carry out Executes. It feels right. Great Sword and Board fantasy.

Gladiators don’t rly carry out executes, and a sword and board is not rly tied to the 'execution"

If anything execute spec would be arms, due to the people who made executions being the guys with big axes

Sure they are. They are the main Warriors and fighters on the front lines. The Elite fighting force to Execute the enemy.

Not really talking about executions where any old person can drop a weapon on someone. We are talking about battle. Where the fiercest Warriors must destroy the enemy. In that tool set the Gladiators must be that Elite army of Warriors who execute the enemy. Aka Prot.

…you do know the gladiators were the dudes that fought in the roman arena right? they were entertainers, not people who went to war

you are confusing the fighters, those were not the “gladiators”

Nope like in the movie 300 the elite fighters. Sword and Board fierce Warriors executing the enemy and dominating the battlefield. Spartan’s are true Gladiators.

With that said we need Gladiator stance back it was the best Dps spec ever in the history of WoW. Nothing is better than doing Dps with a shield.

You know they used mostly spears, and the movie i heavy fantasy right?

And again, gladiators are the roman entertainers who fought on the coliseu, the partan you vision would be more like hoplites.

I would not mind that, but i would rather a gliph for arms or a new spec.

Regardless, this disparity between prot/not prot Execute damage is totally absurd and should be fixed lol.

I do think Arms can use some buffs here. Nothing wrong with that. Although Arms just got nerfed so Idk. Then I just got buffed as Prot since they buffed mountain thane.

Looks like the Devs don’t agree they just double buffed Prot execute. In both mountain thane and then 15% in PvP. They gave Arms a slight buff as well.

Prot is Thee Execute spec as I said. It’s going to slap and do some 2+ million juicy crits on Tues.

It makes perfect sense for Prot to be the Execute spec. That’s why the Devs just gave it buffs even though it was already strong. This now also makes me want to possibly drop punish and play juggernaught. As Prot we always take punish but would be nice to have a choice to play full Execute spec.

PS - Did some digging around some time ago in a tuning pass Prot had melee damage and abilities increased by 30% and Execute buffed by 50%. The Devs been buffing Prot excute for a bit now and looks like we finally getting them too where it’s a main ability.

I already made the swap.

Why you thpught it was necessary to respond again?

you realize they also buff arms execute right

Prot is not the execute spec, arms is

Well first off what Hero Talents are you using? Colossus focuses on buffing Mortal Strike, Cleave and Demolish. So you should be using Mortal Strike alot more than Execute and keep Deep Wounds up on your target and using Overpower to buff the Mortal Strike hits. Its gonna hit way harder regardless considering Colossal Might gives a massive damage increase. Just use Execute, with Colossus as a rage dump and dont worry about the damage of Execute. Now if youre Slayer, well thats where the Fury nerfs hurting Arms comes into play. Being forced into pathing Bladestorm, well youve got one foot in a barrel at that point and there really isnt anything you can do until we see how the Oct 8th patch plays out.

My personal suggestion, go with a full Bleed Arms Colossus build until Blizzard gets off their butts and fix the real issue with Fury Warriors. Besides Bleeds are gonna be way more powerful after Oct 8th.

Since the Devs confirmed what I was saying.

They buffed Prot execute by more. It was 2 buffs. Baseline and PvP.

Except Prot got a 50% execute buff for TWW. Then they got specific execute talents and buffs. Baseline formula buffs so Prot execute hits harder than Arms/Fury. Now another 10% baseline via the talent and 15% more in PvP.

Arms execute is a fraction of the damage of Prot because Prot is the execute spec. As someone saying above Arms is a mortal strike/cleave spec.

Prot’s main ability now is execute.

They didn’t, same 15% for both

If got a 50% buff is because it was that bad and they had to increase it

prot main ability is obviously shield slam

Prot’s execute is leagues better than Arms’

Its actually a joke lmao

I guess thats why people use prot instead of arms in arenas :dracthyr_hehe_animated:

Except it’s not. Shield Slam is a rage generator. Revenge/Ignore Pain is our dump when not in Execute range.

Look up the Prot Talents Sudden Death, Juggernaut, and Massacre.

Edit: My only wish would be to have the old Death Sentence talent to boot. That was just a Fury/Arms thing right? I don’t recall if Prot ever had it.

We never said it was a better Arena spec than Arms, just that it has the best Executes. Don’t try to move the goal post.
