Using delves to shove folks into mythics

The cap at the start is exceedingly low.

I don’t think people will do 2-6s more but it’s not because of delves, it’s moreso because people will bullheadedly charge at 7s because it’s what they believe they should be capable of regardless.

That could very well be, but as you said, that’s not because of any consequences of delves existing.

I did aspire to do the highest keys possible (in DF S1) limited by my ability, but I didn’t hate being in lower ones. (And still needed quite a few upgrades.)

Hmmm…

yea in DF S1, you got power.

In TWW S1, you don’t.

That’s pretty much how it’s always been though. People skipped key levels in even greater ranges in S3 of DF and before.

It’s still people thinking “Well I jumped right into 14s before why can’t I jump straight to 7 now?”

I think it’ll be fine this time around because people won’t be able to hoard 24+ delve keys before the season starts.

At least I hope we won’t. Bliz REALLY needs to reset the ones we have piling up from season 1.

Thoughts on people booting up a new alt just to have all that free stuff in time for a new season? Renown is account bound now, easy 4x crests, and keys. Have that become the main.

Most likely, Season 2 will have new renown caps, and the crests and keys you get from the old renown will quite likely not be for Season 2 stuff.

Or maybe they will change the crest rewards to something else, like resonant crystals or something for the old renown rewards.

Or you will be able to use old crests to upgrade to new crests. So you have a crapton of old crests from renown rewards… you can use them to upgrade but you’ll only have a few.

I think that people who prefer the delve playstyle probably don’t blong in M+ and I’m seeing a lot of online content basically saying that untrained delvers stumbing into low M+ keys are really bricking the whole system and not just the individual keys they join.

Let delvers progress in their own track, and don’t incentivize them to join a game mode that isn’t even enjoyed by its own enthusiasts.

This is extremely unlikely. Previous season crests just get converted into gold.

Wouldn’t this be scapegoating? People are in charge of who they invite.

Some people getting bored because they can’t get any (due to no score) is more likely the problem.

That works to a point, but ultimately ilvl correlates with difficulty and bliz have designed themselves into a corner regarding delve difficulty and the promises they’ve made about what delves were going to be.

I expect we’ll see expansion to the reward track for solo content, but it won’t be delves.

Before delves it was “these bads in normal raid gear are bricking my keys” so it’s kind of just the cycle of life where M+ is concerned. Blame for personal failure typically rolls down hill.

I don’t think this sentiment was ever a thing?

Raid’s often seen as more prestigious than m+.

Visions allow them to gate it by a few weeks at least.

Normal raids have never been seen as more prestigious than anything but the lowest of keys and provided a ramp into M+ that inflated expectations of which keys you belonged in.

It was certainly a thing. M+ has this thing for pointing fingers everywhere but in the mirror.

I think visions allow for a lot more than that, and as long as they leave the bad and improve the good, I think they’ll be great content.

A lot of people’s view of visions are extremely tainted by a few very small aspects that don’t necessary need to stay in newer iterations. I’m genuinely extremely hyped to see what we’re getting.

Tied to grinding a currency just to unlock them was a minus, or weekly quests.

I think bliz have worked out “Currency to open the box but you can run it as many times as you like” is significantly more palatable.

The biggest thing visions got right was avoidable damage dealing sanity. It creates a level playing field between specs and a tuning knob that doesn’t lead to unavoidable 1 shots. Your non lethal mistakes across the course of a run add up leading to a failure condition.

The drain / timer aspect I don’t think is needed, but I do think some expectation of performance damage optimisation needs to exist somewhere. Maybe a specific boss has ticking drain whilst you’re in combat or a fight that slowly fills the ground with void puddles.
