This is so well put.
I feel like so many Delves only players are people who have previously only done world quests and aren’t used to end game difficulty at all and they just want their delves to fall over like a world quest but with full bis as a reward.
Is that what we’re doing today, just making stuff up?
I did plenty of delves at the start of the expansion, on 2 characters in fact. My Brann is level 47 and I nearly completed the delvers journey for season 1. What happened was the gear stopped being relevant to me, so I stopped doing them. This isn’t a fault of delves design, I was never the intended audience for delves.
Yup. Maxed out on growth delves so I tried to move onto raiding mythics was doing well till I hit that toxic barrier. Because my ilvl is not 630 and my score 2800 I find it hard to get invited to heroic raids and mythics 6+. Fyi main is 621 and 1900. It is the curse of taking ones time to enjoy the game and not rush.
I’ve gotten KSM before and that was enough for me. I am not a fan of it, much more casual these days and will stick to delves but even those I will only bother with until they stop raining gear for me.
But I think it’s fine if it gets some players to go into M+, why is that a problem for you? You said you don’t even like that mode yet you are making a whole post with paragraphs on it in the forum?

Blizz is changing crest acquisition from Mythics.
You will have a much bigger reason to run 2-6 and that is Runed Crests. Instead of running Delves for a piddly 2 crests, you could instead run a 6 for 16 of them provided you beat the time limit (and even if you don’t, it’s 12).
I’d say that 8x (or 6x) the crests is a pretty darn good reason to choose Mythic 6 over Delves. And was that not exactly one of the suggestions I made earlier in the thread, of bumping up Crest rewards?
I think delves were made for the exact opposite reason .
I haven’t done mythic plus or lfg raid this season at all and I can solo pretty much anything - the doom whatever it is outside the Cavern of Times - I can solo that - it just takes forever .
To me it seems Delves were made to gear up people decently if they don’t want to do group content at all .
I think I’m 616 and the following is from an article yesterday in Icy Veins and item level and how you compare :
“ The majority of players fall within the item level range of 600-609 with ****16.9%. We have 15.9% of the player population at max level in the 610-619 range.
Close behind is the 620-629 range, at 9.1%.
On the higher end, only 3.6% of Level 80s have reached the 630-639 range.
Around 12.3% players are in the 590-599 range.
For those with lower item levels, 11.5% are between 580-589, while 4.5% make it to 550-559, and smaller percentages occupy the sub-550 item level ranges.“
The level of player power I have ( even after the tank nerfs ) I think is decent considering I’ve not done any M+ and according to that article I’m slightly above average item level of the majority of players . Without really playing consistently or even trying that hard .
I feel delves have been a lifesaver for people who don’t want to do M+ at all .
It [might] help but as for clustering at 10s, don’t think it’s going to solve much. People might be more inclined to do lower keys now.
Crests are still capped, and people need 8x for full vault. (But people don’t stop for hero track vault, so idk how much it’ll do.)
To what fun is number go up?
There’s no reason explaining something to someone who’s so closed minded they can’t grasp the concept.
Your original complaint was:

And now that Mythic 2-6 gives 6-8x the Crests (which you will want/need to upgrade your Champion/Hero Gear to get up to 7s), then there’s LOTS of reasons to want to do 2-6 again therefore fixing your original complaint.
That is, assuming that really was your complaint, and not “Delvers get Hero gear and I don’t want non-Mythics to get Hero gear”.
Oh, and I just got Hero 3/6 gloves today out of the weekly chest after doing 4 Heroics. Didn’t even touch a delve. Those’ll probably be my “BiS” (or well, Best I’m Gonna Get) Gloves which is awesome.
I mean, that’s like basic mechanics of an RPG, lol.
Who didn’t grind in old JRPGs (those who played such anyhow) to buy the best crap in shops because it had better attack power or defense, even though a lot of the time, the performance difference was minuscule?
It doesn’t matter what you say to that person because this is the only thing they’ll do:
Edit - they want one thing and one thing only: solo players getting worse and less gear. That’s their bottom line.
Remains to be seen. For alts sure, for mains? nah.
Ok, so you’re trying to tell me that Joe Mythic wants to get into +7 and doesn’t care about getting his crap upgraded?
He’s probably got half Hero and half Champion gear, but all 1/8 or 1/6 and he might have 100 or so crests… so maybe 3-4 upgrades worth.
He’s a newcomer onto the scene, and he doesn’t have the score or the gear to get into +7 and so he does some 2-6 for the crests so he can at least bring good gear to the table.
Or, yanno, he can pluck away at delves for that sweet, sweet 2 crests per Delve lol.
Or maybe you’re insinuating that he’d rather wait 3 months at one piece of gear from the Vault per week after doing his 8 delves?
Probably not because runed crests are seen as precious early on, so you don’t just send them.
Obviously Runed Crests are precious.
You know what is MORE Precious?
Getting 16 of them per run of each +6 you do rather than getting 2 out of a Delve.
I mean precious as in people will hold off on upgrading 4/8 champion gear. Then at some point, runed is seen as plentiful, so people upgrade everything.
Either way, you’re going to want as many as you can get your hot little mitts on.
you should reasonably reach the cap just by doing 7s (the place people want to be.)
But if you can’t make +7 because you need Score or more Gear…
Just like I did 6s, for score, and hated being there.
I don’t think runed crests will do much in that respect, it’ll make it better for alts, for people who play them.
