No, you can have say higher add hp, so more dps is needed. (And turns it into an actual mechanic or requires way better play.) It’s not simply increasing encounter duration.
You can also add a heal that people have to interrupt, and need to find a different way to handle the slow.
Add more area of denial to some abilities.
Like the one who keeps insisting that we scrap a content pillar that the vast majority of players enjoy in favor of a few people in a small bubble that aren’t good enough for +7 who are stuck in 0-6, lol.
WTF do you think “Damage Sponge” means? If you increase enemy health, you’re turning it into a damage sponge. That’s what a “Damage Sponge” IS.
There’s a difference between cranking up boss hp so the fight lasts longer vs designing an add to be killed in a short period of time, but having the boss fight last the same.
Like Stitchflesh has barely any hp because he repeatedly spawns adds.
If the fight ends in 3 mins (regardless), is it really an hp sponge?
You didn’t say anything about adds. You said “more HP”. Adding more HP is going to make the duration longer.
So, you’ve never done Zek’vir.
There’s levers for Blizz to pull.
Or favoring short intensity encounters, what if every 30 sec the boss increases damage done by 30%?
If you wanna add a time limit, just add a time limit.
And many delvers like delves because there’s no time limit.
Plenty of players hate timers.
But it’s not a time limit because classes have varying defensives, and not everyone knows how to use defensives.
If he increases his damage by 30%, every 30 seconds, you WILL get overwhelmed regardless of defensives eventually.
Some might be 60 seconds, some might be 90 seconds, it’s still a time limit.
I disagree.
A time limit would be a hard stop.
For something that can maybe vary by 300% just by player skill, really isn’t one.
There are numerous ways to make delves harder without being hp sponges.
Either way, this is largely irrelevant.
Delves are fine, and what you’ve been championing in the thread is hurting the majority of players in the game, because a select few feel like they are impacted because they want to use Delves to skip some grind in their supposed chosen content pillar when they aren’t required to do that, and a few people who get their jimmies in a rustle because players who don’t “deserve” gear are getting gear.
We don’t need to make Delves into an e-sport, they were never designed to be that from the beginning, and I think Zek ?? is fine as an ultimate end to the content.
I wouldn’t bother with that troll. They literally just want delves nerfed. They said “I have more fun when others have less gear”. They’re the lowest of the low.

Huh, I didn’t catch that.
Earlier in the thread, they appeared to be trying to argue in good faith that Delves were legitimately hurting M0-6 players.
But apparently at some point he showed his true colors and it’s hilarious because he hurts his own cause when he does that, because he’s proving that the only people who whine about delve rewards are doing so just because he can’t stand to see delvers, or well anybody who doesn’t M+ or raid, running around with decent gear and not because of any actual legitimate reason.
Lucrend doesn’t care for reward structure and would be celebrating if world quests gave mythic raid gear. Doesn’t even care about delves either.
And he takes things out of context too. Not worth conversing with.
Want to kill delves? implement a vendor that sells mythic raid epics, for gold.
Yes, but it’s obvious that you only care about what other people are doing and you want to nerf everybody else’s fun because you don’t like seeing people get rewards you personally think don’t think they earned and apparently, you were misrepresenting your argument in your conversations with me earlier, which I can’t respect and frankly makes me rather disappointed.
And now you’re resorting to ridiculous hyperbole which does you no credit.

No, it’s something Lucrend is 100% onboard with it because it makes his number go up.
Numbers that he wouldn’t have access to otherwise.
Renders delve content comparatively meaningless.
I never said I agree with Lucrend’s position either (assuming that really is their position and they weren’t joking or something). You know there’s a Third Option, right?
I see solo content rewards as demotivating group content needlessly, and wow is an MMO so…
Meanwhile, I’ve stated I would be fine with Zek’vir ?? giving a mythic raid piece. (Probably because I play the worst class for it.)
That’s exactly how we got into this mess, Blizzard listened a little too much at times & didn’t think ahead far enough.
The real problem with listening to players is a large portion just want to move on to another game.
And don’t seem to enjoy playing WOW in any capacity.
