Ah. The age old argument of wanting the gear without doing the content lol.
If you want the higher gear. Do m+. If you don’t want to do m+, you probably don’t need the higher gear.

Mythic+ were designed as a deadend for ilev with the only exit being mythic raiding.
Something, something, perspective.
If you want fish, go fishing. If you want ocean fish, do it on the ocean. Don’t like the ocean? Don’t get ocean fish.
I don’t think that was the intention of delves at all. Actually I think they were trying to appeal to mythic plus players to do the delves by putting really good gear in them. Lol
Do hope they continue to add good gear progression from delves in the future. It’s a great end game mode for solo players or those just looking to chill.
2-6 does not reward hero gear. (Unless if you count vault.) It’s functionally identical to delves.
7s does, but is cosmetically the same, without gilded crests.
they were trying to kill two birds with one stone which they did
provide a great pillar of endgame for the world content primary players
and provide some side content to the pvp and pve raider and m+ playerbase
And what of the crest gains? IIRC, a Bountiful (which you can only do what, a few times a week) gives 2 per.
Surely M2-6 gives more than that?
You don’t need delves to be bountiful for runed crests pretty sure.
They are still limited to what, 5 per day?
I don’t think there is a limit on runed crests.
I mean, the Bountiful. Once you do the Bountiful delve, it’s no longer Bountiful.
So, how about this? Move the crests to the Keyed Chest. That way you can ONLY get the Crests to upgrade Hero gear from the Keyed Chests.
If you wanna upgrade that Hero gear, you MUST do M+ otherwise it will take you all season to get a single piece of gear upgraded.
Could be one solution.
Right on man
I disagree. I’ve done plenty of both and they feel different enough to me. But that could just be me.
I daresay it’d be better than going “nope, no Hero at all”.
And it’d give people a reason to try out low keys if they are willing/able/curious to do that.
If you are capped at 8/8 Veteran from Delves, then there’s no incentives to wanna go past that. But if you’re given a Hero piece once a week (potentially, or you could just get a duplicate you don’t need), then the game goes “well if you don’t wanna take all season to get this upgraded, go try M+!”
The issue to fix is to make the 2-6 keys fun for people that need to be there for longer while everyone takes the path of least resistance. That’s what Blizzard has to solve.
I’m there like 2 days on the first week, but others? could be weeks.
That sounds like an M+ problem more than it does a Delve problem.
So, increase the rewards of M2-6. More crests, more stones, or maybe gear drops more often.
I mean with Delves, the only good gear in a Delve is out of the Keyed Chests and the Vault.
Maybe M2-6 drops the same gear, but increase the drop chances. So, if you wanna gear up, and you are interested in M+, you’d wanna do M2-6 because you get gear way faster than plugging away at Bountifuls.
Or, yanno, you do your bountifuls for the week and then go to M2-6 because you have no keys left.
It’s not necessarily the rewards, or rather perhaps too much rewards. Like people have to be there just to learn stuff (cause going to 7 is too hard, or because they needed score just to get invites.)
So if you triple rewards? they reach the problem point sooner probably, but they need more time there to naturally attain skill /score to be able to do +7s.
How about unsquishing the key range? That way it’s a more gradual curve as you climb the keys?
That, or you know, maybe players should actually pace themselves. So you get to 6 and you get geared up, and you try a 7 and fall flat on your face because it’s harder, then… that should tell a player they need more practice.
This is going to happen with or without Delve gear.
I don’t think unsquishing will do much, people will be right back at the “wall.” or quitting because they feel like they can’t climb over it.
It will be better, not by much.
If players need time, the system has to give it to them with rewards (or lack of it.)
The wall is going to exist no matter what.
If you took Hero gear out of Delves, the only thing you’re going to accomplish is fewer people trying out M+ and making a bunch of Delvers angry.
It won’t change M6 players being terrible in M7 because they got there without enough practice.
I mean, you said yourself, that people will quit if they feel they can’t climb over M7.
Maybe M7 itself is the problem. Maybe there’s too big of a jump between 6 and 7.
