I’m so glad I have not been able to play since the pre patch because when I am home and able to play there has been a 4+ hour queue to log on, which my wife won’t let me stay up for. I tend to play defense in AV and could have been banned if not for this.
I am there every game and i never afk, if i have to go bio i drop queue to do it and requeue when im done. In /bg chat every time someone talks about reporting afks inevitably one of them always has the response that they were in the restroom. Why should you be allowed to screw the rest of us who are putting the work in by losing a tower because you chose to afk. Sorry not with you on this one, reporting anyone who i know is afk.

either way… who the hell bans an account for 30 days for afking a bg… i thought we had deserter debuff for this reason…

exactly…and if u look it up, it was never 30days…just last week a banwave went out and was only 7days for everyone…

Sounds like they have changed their mind on the ban time.
5 days played out of 6 days 14 hours. Never went AFK in an AV, it’s 2022, Death Knights and welfare epics, along with experience gained.
I can’t be the only one that thinks there might be more to this beyond “never once afk”, right?

It’s their automated bots that’re doing it, they got so lazy to actually have real GM’s that they resorted to bots, and they detect any lack of movement for 30 seconds (or at least that’s what I’ve heard) as AFKing…

I only qued av upon reaching 70. I was around fully geared at the time of queing av. Did sunwell even before my first av game, and got of the shattered sun finished the first 2 days, yes on a dk.
clearly deserter debuff is not enough of a deterrent.
I got Deserter ONCE and got banned. Not much of a deterrent if it’s not used as a deterrent.
i got deserter twice this weekend? no ban here… im sure there is something else happening… i dont see how blizzard would ban players for afking… what if your mom had a heart attack and u afked and u get a 30 day ban lol??

Same here… if this doesnt get overturned I’ll be hanging my hat up forever. Unbelievable that someone can get a 30 day suspension for farming AV.

AFKing in battlegrounds is not farming. Thats why you guys got suspended. If you actively participate in the bgs you queue for then people wont report you as afk and you wouldnt get suspended.
Stop classifying afking in a BG is farming lol. One is against tos the other one is okay.

Hopefully this teaches everyone a lesson not to afk in battlegounds lol. Play the game right and you wont get punished. Just be thankful if blizzard unbans you that means they showed you mercy. They dont have to lift up your punishment since you violated the rules
