I have played 5 days of in game played time on Griffdk out of the 6 days 14 hours since release of pre-patch. I’ve been grinding AV for 7 hours a day and wrongfully received a ban for AFKing in a battleground.
I’ve been waiting for the wotlk prepatch for literally months! I was beyond excited to play death knight again and experience wrath. I was so excited to even get access to beta and start helping by reporting the DK bugs. Like the one with death pack sacrificing the player instead of the ghoul! That was a good chuckle.
My ban expires on the 6th of October which is 11 days after release. As a competitive player this is the worst possible experience for me to start the expansion, and I am unsure If I will play wrath now unless the suspension is overturned.

My money to blizzard ends here forever if this is not resolved.

Even if everyone deserved the ban, why would they give 30 days for first time offenders…

I can’t believe they would do something like this to a player who has done nothing but be excited to play a game they love. I really hope this is resolved asap, somebody better look at this fast.

I wish you luck my ticket got automated telling me the suspension was correct.

i suspect the same will occur. I will just keep resubmitting. At this point i dont really lose much if I get permad or whatever. If its not active, by launch the account is dead.

Made a similar thread. Ticket Number: US85784228. This is actual garbage. Banned for playing too much.

I have been playing battlegrounds with Paul on his death knight since the start of the pre patch every day since he got level 70 and not once has he afked or violated the tos in battle grounds. Not sure why he received a month ban.

Honestly, just appeal/reduce or perma me. I just have a sour taste in my mouth now. 30 days for this feels so garbage. Especially when gold buying/way more toxic offenses are 3 days etc.

Crazy to think that someone who’s worked so hard would be banned for something so subjective and mistaken. Hope this gets resolved, you’ve slaved tirelessly for this.

This is completely absurd, even for Blizzard
I’m not playing WotLK if I can’t play on launch day, that’s insane.

a friend of mine was defending by cycloning tanks, he was never afk, he was reported by idiots and received a 30 day ban. Blizzard didn’t even check to see if he was afk, they just banned him and wouldn’t over turn it. Good luck, and I am so sorry this happened to you.

Was it all AV or did you swap to WSG when the weekend hit?
I ran 5 man premade wsgs griffdk is extremely geared at this point.
Maybe I’m cynical, but after doing a lot of AVs myself, it is hard for me to believe all the people who got hit with the ban stick on the forums right now weren’t AFKing. They had to be reported by a lot of players and get investigated by a GM.
Blizzard’s definition of AFKing is “not actively participating”. So doing very little damage and sitting at a node every single game with sporadic lengths of not being tabbed in would count.
edit: It honestly felt like doing AVs on my druid (cat jumping up the side of stonehearth to cap it faster) and seeing all of the people just stay there until even after it’s burned was a lot. Maybe 2-3 each game just at Stonehearth or Iceblood
