[Updated Aug. 27] Get the Shadowlands Collector’s Edition

Mine had 12/31, but then I’m thinking, that with beta coming out next week, they are probably shooting for what would have been the week after BlizzCon (11/3). Between them saying Q4 and the pandemic messing things up, I’ve been thinking that date for a while now.

I usually don’t jump into a new xpac right away anyway. 1/11 just seemed a little off.

Fairly lackluster ‘collectors edition’, TBH. You’d think they could progress past the mousepad like pretty much every other developer has by now.

Something ‘collectable’ (the pins are comedy, not collectables…) in a ‘collectors edition’ isn’t that big a stretch, is it?

is this basically the same as the complete editions you can buy atm?

I just pre-ordered it from my local EB Games online but was just wondering do we get the mount and pet now we preordered.

Nobody uses DVD nowadays. I never see Desktop with Blu-ray or DVD disk drive anymore.

Do you still play Bluray to watch movies? Everything is downloaded thru internet these days.

The links listed on the post are broken! It is missing a “:” after the https

No

You can buy Digital to play on release. Once you get the Collector’s Edition Box, you return your Digital Edition and get back your money from it.

That’s how it was unless Blizz would send these Collector’s Edition to us earlier before the release date.

I’m probably in the minority, but I still do. Not all of the BluRays (plus DVDs) I own did I get a digital version of, and some of my older games have yet to become downloadable, so I have a drive just in case. I’m old, in fact that I still prefer the physical medium over digital anyway, I just like the feel. I still buy physical books and even like CDs (disappointing that there is no physical CD with this as well). It’s true that everything is becoming mainly digital, it’s one of the reasons why I’ve been curious why console companies still make physical disks.

Can you confirm if it was EB Games and not GameStop? I’m in Canada and was waiting to see if EB would open pre-orders. Also, how much are they charging for it? Thanks

Ya i think $180AUD is a little crazy Activision, I guess ol Bobby needs another pay increase.

After BfA there are going to be a ton of people who aren’t willing to be fooled twice.

No way in heck am I preordering this expansion. Not after the “quality” of Blizzard’s game releases over the last couple of years.

They are rushing beta now claiming it is near feature complete. How is shadowlandds near feature complete when crafted legendaries are not even in for testing?

Nice display box. Wife is gonna kill me that I bought it though.

Maybe the saddest thing is that nobody is forcing them to design this way. At this point it just feels like the systems designers have figured out how to make sure they always have a lot of work and the product is suffering for it.

It is bad that they think this is a good foundation to build on. I thought they said they would work on the core game play and not systems. Shadowlands is just systems and core game play is being ignored again. Why are shadow priests and sub rogues the mess they are still in with beta next week?

Apparently not everyone on the design team thinks this way, since Ion said there was still internal debate about how to implement Covenants. To me, that means some people are sounding the warning sirens internally.

Will the stubborn managers listen? They never have before, but maybe this time they will.

When they said they didn’t know that azerite armor was an issue that isn’t true. Some on their design team knew it would be an issue but since their launch deadline was cut by one month they pushed forward.

My prediction is if they cut their launch deadline one month once more for shadowlands that they will push everything through.

Yeesh 120 bucks for a few gaudy pins and an art book. Really wish they had something like the BFA medalion.
